the driving force in the band musically. they'd be nothing without him. plenty of gigs where they've all been off their face and played badly.... but not Mick. always dependable.
Back in 83 when shout at the devil came out Mick Mars sound and style inspired millions of us kids to pick up guitars and learn to play just like EVH did in 78....thanks Mick Mars for the inspiration I'm 59 and still play!!!
I feel like no one is expecting Vince to be like 80s Vince or early 90s Vince but atleast mid 90s-early 2000s Vince weight he looks so young and fresh here and sounds great
He started having trouble with his weight in the mid 90s when his daughter died a couple years after his wife left him. He was already carrying the guilt of killing Razzle by that point, but losing his young daughter in such a painful way of seeing her so scared and slowly dying... a drawn out and horrible way to watch a loved one, especially your child, die... so I understand why he was so depressed and became a reclusive, all day drinker, all day pill popper, all day munchies of booze/pill inspired binge eating, and since this happened during the Corabi Era so Vince had no tours or anything that would keep him in anyway physically active. So yeah at first when the weight gain started he was looking bloated and would try to hide it pretty well with looser clothes, but since he never lost any of the bloat once he gained it, and kept on eating badly, drinking way too much, and never attempted to do anything to stay active or learn how to properly sing which would've helped him tremendously since breath control and trying to sing through his nose instead of his chest are the 2 main issues with his love voice. Hell red hot chili peppers lead singer used to not be able to sing at all and could only rap, and had to take voice lessons to learn how to sign and kept on taking lessons during the 90s till he finally learned to sing fairly well, I say all that because someone like Vince actually had a natural ability to sing in the right key, have a range of notes he could hit and it was just always untamed. If he had learned how to sing from his chest it would've given his voice much more power and sounded more bold and full, while learning how to control his breathing and breath from the stomach instead of the chest while singing it would've helped his phrasing, breath distribution, and would've allowed him to sing all the words instead of running out of air on the last word or 2 for every line. Then you got the band enabling him instead of giving him a reality check and they allow him to make an absolute fool of himself looking like a stuffed turkey wearing way to small clothes, attempting to sing "Dr. Feelgood" but is so out of breath that every other word is just a moan, wail, or just gibberish and ruining the song... as he does on all the fast paced songs and songs with a lot of lyrics in each line where he ruins the songs and sounds just horrible to the point of cringe. The only songs he can still kinda sing are stuff like home sweet home because of its slower tempo, the mood of the song being the kind that he stands still while singing it, and less words in each line so he can pass with a D-
I saw this tour in San Antonio with Megadeth. When I pulled up to the SA Colesium I expected to 10;000 cars in the lot. Instead there were about 2;000 cars there. I could not believe how poorly attended the show was. The place was empty.
Ive seen motley 3 times back in the day and i can tell you this was th best ive ever heard this band on this show!!! sorry tommy you got ur ass kicked!!
Could of made her a full time member she seemed very comfortable and gave all the songs a little bit of her own flavor which is nice to see instead of most guests looking like robots trying to play every song exactly note for note, that’s only my opinion though keep it metal!🤘
He still has great sound he just gets lazy sometimes with the words instead of enunciating the words all the time or tries to change it I prefer the original way myself and mick is a fkn beast 💪🏻
AMEN!! You sir are a legend. Not many people know the history of how Jim Dandy influenced all these cats... BOA got screwed royally. Invented southern rock, then got fucked out if their own music.. Mr. Butch Stone was my manager a few years back. Washed up and basically stealing money from people with lies.. A long ways away from that 1975 manager of the year award he got for managing Black Oak Arkansas... He helped screw them I believe. Anyways... crazy history
Back in the late 90’s/2000 there was nothing more uncool than 80’s “Hair bands” I used to get ridiculed for loving Mötley back then...4 Or 5 years later it was a completely different story.
@@DickTwatkins exactly. In 2004 it was still considered uncool by some. I got ridiculed by a guitar teacher and a friend of mine both told me that 'motley has no other fans but me and I'd be the only fan at the concerts.' Next thing I'm at the concert in Sydney 2005 and it's packed.
Actually is not an small venue, is the Maverick Center in Salt Lake City, which can hold up to 12.000 people, it was on the maximum rock tour with Megadeth, so maybe it wasn't sold out but for sure no small venue, and also on the carnival DVD you can see is an arena instead of a stadium, just saying...
real fucking shame vince can’t just stand still so he can sing at least half the lyrics, i’m a crue head myself but it really kills the vibe cause of how vince has lost his talent man
Amidst current discussions on "empowerment", "girlpower" and so, by 2000 a woman was playing drums (and she nailed it, technically no second to Tommy) for a band considered as sexist and misogynistic. How Crue is that?
Ding dong your opinion is wrong ;) Mick has an INCREDIBLE amount of skill and talent, his stands out the most to me. They all do. Some more than others..
I hate the lazy way Vince sings in concert. He effectively sings half of the lyrics. Not sure if it is a habit, or just something he just does. Either way I hate it. She's good, but no Tommy Lee.
Big Meanie Look at it this way, by the time Samantha Maloney was brought in to play for the New Tattoo tour, Motley had already been at it for 20 years, Vince was already 41 years old and had strained what voice he had ever had. Vince never was a vocal God, by any means, but he was the sound of Motley Crue. At that point he had already wailed his vocal chords out of wack 1,000 times. Try and find any singer from the hair band era that still sounds the same after 20 years! You won't find many. Stephen Pearcy, David Coverdale, Janie Lane, Sebastian Bach, Tom Keifer etc etc . . . .all lost their 20 year old pipes within 10 or 15 years. It's the nature of the business, but the one time Motley fired Vince, they couldn't make any money at all. You have to look at the whole package, and Nikki, Tommy, Mick, Vince & even with Samantha succeeded, where most bands from that era/genre just fell apart, quit or died. Truth be told, most of those singers from that genre were better in the studio than they were live, and I saw most of them. I actually saw Iron Maiden in 1987, trust me, even Bruce Dickenson, as great as he is . . . . .even he sounds better on an album than he does live.
+Fred Brauer You are right man. People arguing about voice or playing an instrument and this and that. They forget the fact that this business is about entertaining and Mötley Crüe in its original line up one of the best bands at it.
Sam did a killer job sitting in for Randy while he was sick with cancer,RIP Randy!
Yes, she did
Let's take the time to appreciate how badass and amazing Mick is
fuck yeah
Bob's the real Deal.......
That Mick kid might go places if he sticks with it 😁
the driving force in the band musically. they'd be nothing without him. plenty of gigs where they've all been off their face and played badly.... but not Mick. always dependable.

Agree ! and what's cool is Mick and Eddie were friends in the 70's , the band Mick was in before MC. used to play clubs with Van Halen in L.A.
i’m 21 just picked the guitar back up after years due to getting into motley shit never dies
I feel like no one is expecting Vince to be like 80s Vince or early 90s Vince but atleast mid 90s-early 2000s Vince weight he looks so young and fresh here and sounds great
Agreed. He's really let himself go
He started having trouble with his weight in the mid 90s when his daughter died a couple years after his wife left him. One of the best guitar solos in RNR. Mick is definitely under rated. Wasn't interested in showing off on stage, just did his thing.
Thank God for Mick Mars. He carried the Crue for years. Vince, that dude died years ago.
No, fuck you
@@elluchadoresrojo5098 I agree totally. Fuck Vince. You nailed it perfectly.
Vince rocks!! Always has always will!!
Vince died when he started doing more coke than singing
Screw Vince, but Tommy shared the load equally with mick.
samantha wasnt a guest she played the whole tour
Mick is Motley Crue!! No Mick No Crue!

The Crue actually played this song live the last 3 times I seen them live in Philly and twice in Atlantic City great tune and sounds good live
Mick played the solo all over the fucking place to see if Sam could catch the changes... she didn't miss a beat... literally
this might be the best version of this song out there - the '85 live versions are top as well!!
SAMANTHA MALONEY ROCKS

The worst part about this awesome live track is the constant fake crowd noise
O YEAH
nice job

The whole band made Crue not just one guy. Gets old seeing the same old comments about Mick. 😅
Vince does a great David Lee Roth impression lol Cheers to Jim Dandy and Black Oake Arkansas.

Left to pursue his own solo stuff.....he came back shortly after though
how come their playing such a small venue and such a small crowd? on carnival of sins their playing a massive stadium

no, he can't sing anymore. it's exactly why they retired. nikki, tommy and even mick can still play great, but vince has no pipes anymore
He has only been singing half of the lyrics since Shout At The Devil days. I just watch Crue's live stuff to get annoyed lol.
drum audio too loud sounds like a rodeo
Im sorry but that sucked compared 2 what they usually do. Banged the snare. Hell I can do that!
Was vince neil castrated? Wtf happened! I wish i didnt see this
