I grew up in the 80's, graduated high school in 86. It truly was a
different world from today. The music of that time period will always
hold a special place in my heart. All of my favorite bands, Motley Crue,
Skid Row, Tesla, Ratt, Def Leppard, Warrant, Poison, Bon Jovi, Wasp,
Cinderella, Van Halen, Metallica, Judas Priest, REO , Kiss , Aerosmith and so on were all over
MTV and the radio and it was awesome! Those of us who remember that time
know it will never be duplicated.

Tommy!! talk about when y'all came to San Antonio Texas. Remember the Henry B. Gonzalez CONVENTION CENTER ARENA!? 1983--
      Shout at the Devil 🤘
We'd pass stogie's back & forth pass one, grab the other. "Cold drinks!"would be the only thing other than the music that sparked everyone as it suddenly goes dark, and you'd hit some strange things 🤔 I'll never forget the sound of Rob Hoffman chopper reving, in the mist of an empty smoking stage. Then lifts up a slap of board & a ramp.....awwww man!!!
      That s.o.b. drove it up onto that open stage with those high 13 inch handle bars....omgh ♥︎⁰; ♥︎⁰; ♥︎⁰; ♥︎⁰; ♥︎⁰; ♥︎⁰; ♥︎⁰
He was at an incline arms straight up and legs so wrapped around that baby as if.......🤤😆
I couldn't stop the whistles & roars, that came up from my inner gut!!!!😍 ✨
Ozzy Osborne, Triumph, Judas Priest, Accept SAXON, MONTLEY CRUE, Iron butterfly 🦋 ♥ ❤ 🎶 💖
Best moments for a Rock & roll girl seeking something.

    You know I'm a dreamer
    But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
    Just when things went right
It doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song and you'll never feel left all alone
    Take me to your heart
    Feel me in your bones
    Just one more night
And I'm coming off this long and winding road
    I'm on my way
    I'm on my way
    Home sweet home
Tonight, tonight I'm on my way
    I'm on my way
    Home sweet home
    You know that I've seen
    Too many romantic dreams
Up in lights, falling off the silver screen
My heart's like an open book
For the whole world to read
Sometime nothing keeps me together at the seams
    I'm on my way
    I'm on my way
    Home sweet home
Tonight, tonight I'm on my way
    Just set me free
    Home sweet home
    Home sweet home
    Home sweet home
    Home sweet home
    I'm on my way
    I'm on my way

My dad passed two months ago and I was looking for a version of this song for his memorial, and I found this - a version we may have listened to live, right next to each other, 14 years ago. [Verse 1]
    You know I'm a dreamer
    But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
    Just when things went right
It doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song and you'll never feel
    Left all alone
    Take me to your heart
    Feel me in your bones
    Just one more night
    And I'm coming off this
    Long and winding road
    [Chorus]
    I'm on my way
    I'm on my way
    Home sweet home
    Tonight, tonight
    I'm on my way
    I'm on my way
    Home sweet home
    [Verse 2]
    You know that I've seen
    Too many romantic dreams
    Up in lights
    Falling off the silver screen
My heart's like an open book
For the whole world to read
    Sometimes nothing
    Keeps me together
    At the seams
    [Chorus]
    I'm on my way
    I'm on my way
    Home sweet home
    Tonight, tonight
    I'm on my way
    Just set me free
    Home sweet home
    Home sweet home
    Home sweet home
    Home sweet home
    [Guitar solo]
    [Chorus]
    I'm on my way
    I'm on my way
    Home sweet home, yeah
    I'm on my way
    Just set me free
    Home sweet home

What I love about this song is that it shows how heavy metal doesn't have to be all thrash guitars and screaming crazy stuff, but it can also have a soft and sentimental side that really shines through when the band brings it out. Like this song, if I didn't know Motley Crue I never would've suspected that Tommy could play this so well on the piano and it's just absolutely incredible. Way to go guys, I miss your songs in 2018 and I wish y'all could still be touring

    • @DarkHelmut
      @DarkHelmut 6 лет назад

The piano parts of this song are more than extremely basic, its just a basic cMaj chord that changes the root to b then bflat, then a 1 3 5 f major triad, its not rocket science by any means and any 2nd week piano student can play this. Does it sound good? Of course, but Tommy is by far not a great piano player by any means.

18 years old in 1988. For some reason fun times at 18 are hanging out with cool girls, playing D&D, and going to the Rocky Horror Show in Monterey, Ca. Ah, glorious youth. Right before Grunge ended bands like Motley Crue...

My wife’s dream was to see tommy Lee play the baby grand. We saw this performance in Dallas and she cried. She passed away from me due to cancer and we played this at her funeral. I miss her dearly and can’t wait for the day we are reunited again. Home sweet home. Thank you motley cute.

Wish the boys could have stayed together, and kept pushing. Saw them live during their "Shout at the Devil" tour, and they put on a hell of a good show. They had their moment of stardom, and I loved them while it lasted. They will forever be one of my favorite 80's hair bands !!
