I suggest feeding them Axanthium (I think I spelt it wrong) algae (the algae that they eat in the wild and is the reason why flamingos are pink) they dissolve in water and you might be thinking “why is that a good thing” it’s bc the adults won’t eat it all before the babies can get it bc the ababies can’t get the food that is floating or is at the bottom of the tank, especially with a tank that huge with that amount of sea monkeys
i have had the same sea monkey tank for 3 years. they keep reproducing !! my fav one is named jarvus. hes a giant! btw idk why but they all for some reason have a dark streak running down their body, i think its supposed to be green..
Wow! Your sea monkeys are so beautiful! This tank is out of this world! Have you tried keeping opae ula shrimp yet? I would love to see the landscaping you would do in a opae ula tank. I’m new to keeping fish and I love how you land scraped this tank. Personally I can’t make up my mind on if I want to have sea monkeys or opae ula shrimp. Both are supposed to be easy to care for, which as a newbie fish keeper is a plus for me, but I’ve heard that the opae ula shrimp live 20 years.
I have not tried that breed of shrimp before. I'd love to hear how your colony goes! Honestly I'm a novice with this stuff too. I've never had fish or other crustaceans besides the hermit crabs I had as a kid. We've got dogs and cats. :)
You've been such an inspiration for me Thank you! ❤ What do you use for the bottom.of the tank? Soil or stone? As I would like to do a big set up with my old frog tank, 12 liters and get some microalgae in it. Any recommendations? Thank you in advance!
I had this idea when I was 10. Never got to actually try it. What I'd do is add some more eggs in if you notice population looks smaller or just add some in anyways to introduce some new blood for the colony to breed with.
Question. I have a spare 10 gallon all in one tank. My question is did you seal the back of the tank off so the water and sea monkeys don’t get into the filter side of the tank?
@@rudyj1212Hi Rudy! I didn't seal that part off, but I did rip the whole filter right out of there. The openings connecting both parts of the aquarium are large enough for mature Sea-Monkeys to pass through with ease. I definitely have some chilling back there that you can't see in the videos.
Wow I've never seen so many adult sea monkeys at once! 😲 They all look so happy and healthy too. Do you mind me asking what kind of substrate you have there in their tank? I want to put some in my new tank before starting a colony. Since your monks look like that I know what you're using is safe for them.
I made this with Sea-Monkey brand packets. They are salt water animals. I have some videos on this channel showing the setup process etc. Be sure to check them out. I hope you enjoy your new pets too!
Does the tank have to be aerated manually? I don't see a bubbler in there, but I've never heard of an aquarium creature that didn't need some kind of aeration.
im not experienced about fish tanks but ive got a heavily planted and cycled 20 gallon. is there anything special for these guys? do you need to do water changes and so forth? ive grown them from library book fairs and they seem hardy. i dont know

So cool to see a giant colony in a larger aquarium
I hate the small ones. They're do empty and void...void...void...void.
Looks amazing ! I finally got my 1 gallon tank done and my little monkeys are happy happy happy.

How many salt packets u use for that tank?
