by any chance, you ever been in the Lugano from here? Well, its not a good idea to do it, but its the place where I was raised, so you could say I'mma something of a swiss myself haha
Bro, I'll be in BA in a week was searching for a video that just made my stomach grumble and this was it. I'm literally going to most of the places featured!
Love hearing your background. Sounded so close to my husband’s father. Like your grandfather, he was also born in Poland, and went to Argentina because the boat to America was full. Food looks great!
The thing I love about Buenos Aires is that you can find delicious food in a small bar or restaurant, no need to go to a fancy place to have a nice meal. By the way, nice Jay White tee!
Great video! I'm going on holiday to Argentina from 17 March until 2 April: Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, and El Calafate. This will be my third visit to Argentina. However, my previous visits were a long time ago: mid 80's and early 90's. I am going to see if Argentina is a good country to retire to when I finally retire in '26. Besides the unstable currency, my greatest concern about Argentina is that I'm vegan. During my first visit to Argentina, I was a carnivore. On my second visit to Argentina in the early 90s, I was a vegetarian and did not find BA vegetarian-friendly at all. Hopefully, the vegan/vegetarian situation in BA at least has ameliorated in the last three decades.
It surely changed a lot. I am a vegeterian and I was there for the first time in ten years in 2021, and the veggie scene has exploded. From luxury dinning to street food, you will find plenty of options. Make sure to pay a visit to Gioia, a restaurant inside the Duhau Palace in Recoleta. Mindblowing!
@@BrunchBoysWe're almost finished with my two-week holiday in Argentina: BA, Ushuaia, El Calafate, and back to BA. We found lots of vegan restaurants and most other restaurants have at least a vegetarian option. We did not starve during our Argentine holiday!

@@cesaradriancozzolino149 Yeah, mainly in Buenos Aires zone. Once I asked a friend who is from another province and didn't even know what a Faina was and never tried one in his life 😂.
Happy that you enjoyed your stay in Argentina. Like you said, we received immigration from all over the world with open arms. Just to give you an idea, my grandparents were Greek, Russian, Japanese and Spanish/Arabic. We received people from Spain, Italy, Poland, USA, UK, Russia, France, Germany, China, Taiwan, Japan, Greece, you name it. Most of the people that came here from Poland, estabished in Misiones, which is located to the Northeast of Argentina, next to Brazil. You might have heard about Iguazu Waterfall. Also, it's where yerba mate (ilex paraguariensis) production is concentrated, as well as rice production. If you like fish, there are some delicious river fish there, like dorado (Salminus brasiliensis) and pacu (Myleus pacu). Basically, between 1921 and 1976, 169,335 Poles permanently settled in the country. If I am not mistaken, we had three waves of immigrants from Poland. Today we have around 500,000 Argentines of Polish descent. My father travelled to Misiones (Obera, Azara, Apostoles, Junin, etc.) a lot because of his job and knew lots of people from Poland. He said they were very intelligent and kind people. Very talented and educated. Excellent Engineers. So much they founded a Polish Engineering Association. I believe the third wave brought people with higher academic training. Sometimes, our civil registry would mispell surnames because they weren't used to them, so it is likely that some people are relatives, but their surnames are different. If you are interested, here is a bit of the story and some notable people of Polish descent: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_Argentines Also, there is a White Eagle Project which involves people from Poland here: www.elaguilablanca.com/elaguila/elaguila-proyec1.html And there is a Polish Cultural Circle which explains the History of the community here: circulopolones.com.ar/acontecimientos-historicos/
Hola, do you have another video showing the most popular food of Argentina? Yes, El asado argentino, las famosas parrilladas. This video was mostly about pasta, which is important, but not as important as the grill meat or asados for us Argentinians.
I'm Yangui-Argento, born in Manhattan to Argie parents. The food is delicious. Ice cream is the truth there. Also, we're not really known for tortilla de papas at all, but you do you! That is super Spanish (derogatory term used there before - gallego). We are known for milanesas / pure de papas - ensalada de zanahoria, and a ton more stuff.
Pelo, tortilla de papa's is absolutely a big thing there. I/parents born there and we had this once a week. A lot less when we moved to the US but it's 1000% a staple.
Nice. You didn't have any asado! The slow cooked bbq beef ribs are amazing. I was in Buenos Aires for about 5 days, then to Colombia for a few days before a long layover in Buenos Aires again before returning to HK. I don't think I'd eaten so much beef in a week before. Choripan was great but you felt so guilty, you could just feel the calories in each bite.
I'm an Argentinian living in Italy. I've never expected to say this, but I miss the Argie pizza SO much. It's like a focaccia with extra sauce, and seasoning. The mozzarella is also completely different: salty, buttery, and strongly flavored. Here in Italy, the flavors are mild, lean, and low on seasoning. I feel like I'm on a diet :'D
I can't believe you included la mezzeta in your list, I was born 6 blocks from it and it's a big part of my childhood, big neighborhood institution, people are proud of it, if you meet some one from Villa Urquiza and invite you to their home they're gonna want to take you there

Thank you for visiting and giving such positive impressions of some of our eating hits. ❤
