I bought 3 Tamiya kits all 1/35 the Panther Ausf A, a Pz II G/f and a Mid Production Toger I. I plan to do the Tiger II and I think I will go with the Dragon kit.
Thank you for posting an informative and useful vid on this great tank destroyer. I have noted that Tamiya have come full circle recently in introducing motorised versions of their tanks. Their world war one tanks instantly spring to mind as an example. This was something that they specialised with in the 1970's. It's a great pity that Tamiya have not done the same with this kit as I would have been delighted. I have also noted that if you want to make it accurate by adding Zimmerit... your going to have to buy it as an optional extra... from Tamiya... which I personally think is shameful. Thanks again for the review.
I noticed that as well. Dragon gives you more for the same price or less and it looks to be the same quality. Also I believe cyber hobby is also a Dragon company. I have 3 Tamiya kits and they are all nice, but many of the dragon kits come with detail. Though 2 of my kits were $20 or less. My most expensive Tamiya kit is the Tiger I Mid Production It was like $43 or so. I saw a king Tiger II kit that comes with a aluminum barrel and etched screens. Tamiya doesn't do that it seems.
Hi.. I didn't build it, but one of our staff members did. Plus there are likely many other articles on our site talking about how to do different types of tracks. www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=9288
Tamiya needs to take a good look in the mirror. They have released this kit now, when to be honest they could have released it twenty five years ago. Italieri produced this kit in (about 1977). Dragon released an excellent example approx fifteen years ago...What annoys me about Tamiya is that they produce a new kit, but don't include Zimmerit. They show Zimmerit on the box art... but make you buy the Zimmerit as an extra. They should produce a "paper panzer" like the VK 4502
I like your kit reviews. They include some context for the ship, tank or whatever you're showing.
Very nice review.And lovely kit.

+MrOrmesby I've seen the price of this kit. It is shameful they don't include they zimmerit.
I do like the crispness of Tamiya kits, but I think you tend to get better value in the long run with Dragon produced armor kits.

Someone gave me the Italeri version of this AFV. Bless their hearts. But the kit doesn't measure up. BTW...how would Friulmodel tracks work on this?
For around the same price I would rather buy the Dragon kit.
The Dragon box is jam packed while the Tamiya box looks empty.
do you just do the review or you build them too? I always have problem with those plastic tracks trying to find 1 to see how its done properly.
