Great job! Looks great. The tank museum in the U.K. built a full-size operating replica of one of these WW1 tanks using an excavator frame and running gear. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I agree QDC IS the bob Ross of scale modelling community .QDC has a positive, encouraging, upbeat & friendly personalty that comes across in his videos much like the late great Bob, had on the Joy Of Painting. Although he is yet to say "today where are going to build a happy little Tank"
I have to admit, your rust streaks are very convincing, another thing to experiment with is superficial and dark steel chipping, it really gives your model a pop and can help add to the realism.
Dang David , here you go again , another great build. Every time I see one of your videos , I have to sit and work on one of my models. You make it look too easy, but with carpal tunnel sometimes is hard. Now you can chase kitty with your Mark IV . Until next time , take care, Tony
You're welcome. Baking soda is a very old trick. There are newer versions to do it. Many of the newer versions require you to buy special products exclusively to the company that sells it.
I'm building the Takom mk 4 male just now hard to find the right colour of brown it says to use a clay brown but don't have that so some colour mixing is away to happen now pity I can't do olvie drab I have loads of that haha! Great build! I have the whippet and the tadpole to do next!
Another great build. I had a model of the same tank when I was in High school. That's back in the 80's I'm not sure what company it was. I wish I could have kept it. I had moved to so many different places. It was wrecked in one of the moves. Now I have an excuse to build another one.
Thx QDC, you have inspired me to start constructing my old and new kits, thanks. and btw the mk IV "male" british tank running around your workbench looks cute
I do have that Russian camo brown green but need to brown it up more maybe a filter of oil burnt umber oils will work over top! Thanks for the video put a good idea in my head!
Very nice build! Apart from a couple of british and french soldiers, when I was about 12 years old, I never built anything else related to the WWI, but I was able to make an exception with this Mark 4 :)
Hi qdc. Nice model! I suggest you record the moving tank at 4x normal fps [say 120 fps], then when it is played back at 30 fps it will move as if full size especially when falling over the obstacles. It also needs weight up front because the centre of gravity is too far back due to the battery etc.
Another classic build from you David it looks like fun kit to build.I like the paint job and especially the rust streaks will look forward to your next build
@@qdc748a same going from high school to college gets complicated but I still build I'm building up my skills to build a b17f Memphis bell flying fortress my uncle gave me when I was in elementary school so I don't want to start it and not have the skill to build it
Again another great video. I find it so relaxing to watch your video's after a days work, just like how modelling is supposed to be. In fact you and David Damek made me come back to modelling after 30 years. You've seen some of my work, it was inspired by you.
Awesome build & great video QDC. I think its awesome you made this kit motorized. You don't often see that in 1/35 scale. Also that end sequence at the end ,seeing the Mark IV action was brilliant. Especially the closing shots of the Mark IV approaching the enemy tench.
I love your work QDC! You did a great job. I'd love to see a tutorial from you on your mud effect, it looks great! If I can offer one piece of constructive criticism though... I would imagine the mud at the rear would climb up the track and wrap back up before dropping off the track. So more mud near the read. Just my two cents.
@@qdc748a I am at the stage where I need to attach the driver sprockets to the tank. The instructions say to use the brass inserts as axels, but it is a split axle with two different parts numbers, but thy look identical
Followed with interest on facebook... :) Great to see the build in moving pictures, so to speak.. :) Glad I didn't have to assemble that track, I never have the patience for that type of modelling, however good the end result will be,, but both you and Hamilkar B (and anyone else who attempts to build this style of tracks) have my full admiration.. :) Good to see you got it fully working as well... Another beautiful model from the QDC master modeller.. :)
I've seen Andy from "Andy's hobby Headquarters" doing this kit last June, (2018) but I think you done a better job on your kit... qua making it look used
Cracking job Col !! As always ! I love it. I've never been interested in building anything from wwi but this is beautiful !! I just love Tamiya. I hope you are all well ? Stay safe my friend
Holy Cow! A 1/35 motorized Tamiya model, WITH A MOTOR. Beautiful job on her, especially the paint. {Note to toy soldiers: "Run Away!"}
at one point one of em look like he can lift the mk IV :)

You're welcome. Thanks for watching my humble video.
this popped up on my feed, ive little interest in making models but this made me enjoy watching the whole thing
You are welcome 😀
The way u explain ur models to kids is great u keep it simple and u don't talk down to a novice modeler nice job again
I like to watch these videos to feel bad that I can barely build a beginners model kit
The way this thing moves looks like the real tank. Lovely job making it look like it came straight out of the muddy trenches!
Thanks! This kit does look real when it moves. :)
Excellent build dude! Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome 😃
Is this the model bob ross or is it just me
Bob Ross is a name I haven't heard in years! Cute.
I love QDC’s channel. He just seems like an honest and genuinely nice guy with a gentle approach to the videos. The bob Ross of builds. :)

It's a fun model to build. You should try it. :)
