I have the black wire 3220 series in my plantronics hub right now. Would I be able to get the wireless headset and USB port to connect to my pc desktop?
The intermittent issue I see which Plantronics never really addresses is - what do you do when the Hub says DEVICE: NO DEVICE CONNECTED and your Voyager Legend is linked to your PC via a USB port and cable the magnetic dongle. All I want is a software update. No clear instructions on how to connect - or Troubleshooting - they says it will appear and go from there. But it rarely connects. Now I load version 25 (last update was version 19) and cannot get to read.
Can you do a video on the advantages and disadvantages of using these wireless headsets through a Bluetooth connection? Plantronics sells its own BT USB adapters such as the BT300, BT600, and BT700. I was told that I should disable the integrated BT transmitters on laptops to use these external adapters with Plantronics headset if I want to get the best performance and even some features that are only available with the Plantonics-specific USB BT adapters. This is confusing because isn't BT a standard so what is the difference with the BT that comes with laptops and one that comes from Plantronics? Do I need the Plantronics BT adapters to use with Plantronics headsets to get proprietary features and optimization configuration settings? What is the difference between the BT300, BT600, and BT700? Their prices vary as much as $60, but physically they look the same.
Hi Jason, great video suggestion and it can definitely be confusing. Everyones computers built in Bluetooth is a bit different. Sometimes computers work well with a headset connected via Bluetooth and others not so much. In addition, you don't get the added features like being able to answer/end calls away from the computer with your headset on compatible softphones. So, it's highly recommended with either of the major brands you use the included USB adapter if you want the best audio and connectivtiy experience. The differences in the BT300, BT600 and BT700 is they're just newer versions and will have overall improvements in each new generation of headset.
@@HeadsetAdvisor The BT700 is over $100. It better does miracles to justify that price. In the BT standard, there are these things called profiles. Is BT in its barebones lowest common denominator, a container for custom built profiles? Does that mean the justification of the BT700 is these complicated and features rich profiles that can be understood between the Plantronics adapters and their own BT headsets? BT uses 2.4GHz, the same frequency as WiFi, resulting in interference. Are there wireless headsets that do not use this frequency?
@@jasonluong3862 couldn’t agree more it’s a bit pricey. You can always try connecting the headset to your computer with Bluetooth to see how it does for you. If it doesn’t work well then it may be worth considering to get a replacement BT700. Also, yes there are other headsets that operate on a technology called DECT which won’t use Bluetooth and cause any interference.
Hi Travis, thanks for adding that and you're correct. Or you will need a Plantronics model that includes the USB dongle to the computer (BT600 or BT700). Most customers stay away from connecting their headset to the computer via Bluetooth to avoid connectivity or sound quality issues.
I have a single over the ear plantronics headset. I can hear that it has 6 hours of a charge, but it will not connect. I have always been able to connect to my iphone 11, now I can't. I went to a headset store and had a 20 something help me. We did everything to pair it & this techy kid did not know how to help once we tried everything on settings.
Utter crap. The hub NEVER works, NEVER recognizes the headset, and finding support or solutions from Plantronics is completely useless. Plantronics Voyager 5200

I had the same issue - just had to connect the headset to the pc with a physical cable and then the headset showed up in the PLT hub.

Not many softphone apps to choose from ?! My business app isn't listened there so that means no support for Anwser / End Call button ?!

Note - this software only works if you are connected via USB. Via Bluetooth - it can't see the headset.
