Grieg Piano Concerto in A Minor. 01 Allegro molto moderato (Cadenza 8:34 - 11:51) 02 Adagio: (begins at 12:59) 03 Allegro molto moderato e marcato: (begins at 20:05)
My mother grew up in Manhattan in the 1920's. She often attended classical music concerts and loved the Grieg Piano Concerto. I can see her sitting in her chair knitting when she would listen to this unique piece. At certain places, she would set aside her knitting and close her eyes and hum along and listen, no doubt re-living some concert she had attended with some great pianist of her day. She would have loved your rendition, as do I. Thank you for your years of practice and for this performance!
Michelle, a piano prodigy...what a lovely young lady and such talent. This concerto has been my second favorite one for 40 years. It slipped to second place after I heard Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2. What a fantastic performance, Michelle!
Beautiful performance . It is a pity we have no info about this young pianist . Except that her name is Michelle and borne to play Griegs Piano Concerto
Hello all! I am Michelle Livengood. This is from a concert at Juilliard's Peter J Sharpe Theater back in March 2008 with the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra conducted by Adam Glaser. The pre-college division has concerto competitions each year where the winner is awarded this performance. I was 17 (a junior in high school) at the time and graduated from Juilliard Pre-College the following year. My piano teacher was Veda Kaplinsky.
