Does Meta want to attract new Quest customers and start making revenue? Why not partner with Disney to make 180 3D VR immersive videos of their most iconic movies (chase sequences). For example Star Wars XWing Death Star trench and tunnels run, Avatar Flight of Passage, chased by a TRex, Temple of Doom mine cart chase. Videos in this new medium are way easier and cost effective to make and experience than VR games. The advantage to Disney is that such videos can also be seen on Apple Vision Pro, and someday on every brand of VR hardware.
Everything else is pretty much expected year to year, but I really hope Quest 4 has an option to include face tracking. Data privacy, ethics, and protection will be huge topics. But, I doubt Meta repeats a Cambridge Analytica situation as it would destroy their entire vision with Reality Labs or becoming the next computing platform.
Love these developments. Have been watching many videos and reviews about XR glasses, but in the end not much wiser. For daily usage they are too bulky. I always had very small thin glasses and don't like these thick framed ones. For watching movies, they might be ok, but I've heard they don't reach the quality level of a Quest3....
Right! True AR/XR glasses still have ways to go, but the potential is immense. Right now the glasses are under two monikers smart glasses and true AR glasses. If reports remain true of project "Orion" Meta should showcase prototypes to devs at Meta Connect 2024 and maybe showcase to the general public as to why they spent almost $55 billion on Reality Labs.
You do know that Raxium are making the screens for a Nintendo XR Headset which is said to be a different platform than the Switch 2 but is said to be compatible with the Switch line of products
Didn't catch that, but makes sense as some time ago I remember reading reports of Google/Nintendo working on a XR headset. Since Google does own Raxium. I wonder if that'll ever see the light of day as I doubt Nintendo would release it during Switch 2. I would love for Nintendo to return to its wacky interesting tech days.
As a PcVR User i skip the next Quest. The Highend Settings from Q3 can kill a 4090RTX. When they release the RTX6xxx Serie maybe Q4 makes more sense. At the moment you Pay for Hardware und searching for Software

If you are interested, La Jolla is pronounced La Hoyah.

That was my first guess, but thought if they wanted to aim at that they would've went with something like "hoya".
