I remember discovering her meme for the first time in summer 2013. Right after that, I got curious who she was and googled her. This led me to her RUclips channel, where I saw not just the Bieber video, but also all the other ones she did so far. And I'm not exaggerating when I say that Laina has become a huge part of my life and one of my main inspirations. Simply one of the most down-to-earth persons I've ever seen on RUclips, and one of the friendliest on social media. Watching her videos always made me happy, because it was not like this mainstream influencer stuff, but more like listening to a friend. With each video, she showed that she was more than just that girl that became a meme. When she announced her retirement from RUclips last year, I was shocked, but at the same time, I thought it was the right thing for Laina to do, especially after finding out about her depression. And it's amazing to see her being well, be it on this video or on social media. I wish her all the best, whatever she's doing.

"How I became a meme"
It all started back in 2012...
Yeah. That's usually how it starts😂😂
Back then some people thought everything would end that year.
2012 was the year RUclips introduced recommended videos ;)
The Chuck Norris Memes were the only best thing I will ever remember 😂
Better than being a 2020 meme
2011-2012 was the best years for memes. Back then, my high school friends and I would draw some rage comics at the back of our notebooks while the teacher is lecturing LMAO
I love love love that she uses her platform to speak on mental health. What a beautiful person ❤️
Oh my god, I'm so glad she had a mostly positive experience and that she wasn't harassed into oblivion.
That’s one of my biggest fears of I ever became an internet celebrity.
I think she was lucky - it seems most people understood the source material was a girl goofing around and didn't make fun of her for it. They used it to make more goofing around entertainment. There are a lot of instances where that's not the case and the internet is very cruel to the person.
Times were different then. It’s ever since TikTok changed from a dancing and lip syncing app to a tea app that things changed

Most people don't age much between 20 and 27/28.
Sylvia Bailey I never said she's old. What I meant is that she's been looking the same age for years.
While she is cute, adorable, and kind...her meme was so effective, while watching this video I still found my gut filling with fear and dread. Just amazing.
I hope she sees your comment
