    After watching the part at 2:39, the mini pumping lesson, I feel like I have been brute forcing my pump, everyone teaches "toes in, toes out" but not how to apply pressure, where to apply it and when to apply it like that short section telling the guy when to push and at which direction, could you make a more detailed video on that "one, two" transition and how we can practice that for a more efficient pump?

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  Год назад +4

      Of course! Thanks for the request - This seems to be the main setback for many in the community. We’ll work on more dedicated pumping vids!
      Without specific context to your current progress… bending your knees and avoiding a wide stance goes a long way with range of motion, as well as applying said pressure. Would love to hear more on how it’s going for you!

    What helped me learn to freeskate is knowing some crip-walk steps and having learned that weave rhythm from ice skating and rollerblading in the 70s and 80s.

    i wonder is freeline skating faster, or require less energy than running?
    (or, is it an easier than "running", under the same distance and speed? )

    • @theKiwii
      @theKiwii Год назад +1

      I would say probably depends on the terrain and elevation. Obviously downhill it's gonna be faster and require less energy as you can just roll (but also you can get scarily fast quickly, which needs practice to control). On a level plane with good asphalt or concrete, I think it's faster than running with a similar amount of energy but for short distances, sprinting would be faster. Uphill probably not but I don't have enough practice to say for sure.

    • @jmkride
      @jmkride  Год назад

      It's definitely faster than running. Once you build your muscles you can cruise and pump for distance.

    Free skates are dangerous. Because there is almost a 100 percent chance that a beginner will do damage to a knee by twisting their knee in a motion for which a knee is not intended. You also can fall and break your wrists or crack your skull.

    • @spiderhaz_
      @spiderhaz_ 27 дней назад +1

      Helmets, Pads, and tutorial videos can help supplement those. But unfortunately you will fall, it's more about how you fall, not when.
