ordered a pair last week, they should be coming in tomorrow. been studying every video they look so fun and can't wait to start learning to ride them
Just got mine recently. Let me say…. They make it look way easier than what it actually is haha.
Trust the process! Focus on going straight and learning to balance. The feeling will unlock for you.
Awesome! We're always here to help!
It will feel impossible at first but likely within your first or second session it will magically click and you’ll be able to balance and turn ok :) Be patient at first and don’t get discouraged.
Progress update ?
I got my pair last week and have been driving for about an hour every day since. Today is day 8 and I'm noticing how I'm getting better day by day. Every day a little better, a little faster and a little more stable. In the meantime I'm having a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks. Your videos were a great help.
Great to hear! Your patience in learning will have you riding for sure. Keep it up and celebrate each day of success!
Learning it is fun for sure. Just got mine yesterday. How’s your progress going ?
I was good at skating when I was a teen . Won some small competitions and stuff but would try this . I’d probably break something now that I’m 33 😂😂
Many of our riders are north of 30. Great thing is, you lose balance and can just step off
Been free skating since 2009, but i always gotta revisit the basics! Thanks for consistent content and reminding me there's a community of freeskaters out there. Hi from NYC!
Sean! Thanks for the comment and for being a part of the community :) Totally, always happy to help - is there a video you’d like to see from us or a topic you’d like us to elaborate on?
@@jmkride thanks for the reply! I'm a little older and took a long break from freeskates. Are there any exercises or stretches you can suggest to become better at freeskating or in order to do certain tricks? I feel my foot cramping a bit for distance skating, for example.
How much did your skates cost? Im not sure how much to spend
@@boryspyda5721 I got my JMK Ride Freeskates for about 175, that was with customizing the colors of the wheels and griptapes too!
I still remember learning this with non jmk skates. Like in the middle of the day in the summer (it was too hot tbh😂) but after 2 months of learning and riding a little bit i bought my jmkride freeskates and they were such a big step up from the normal ones. Now i can ride little more distances but i am not consistend in riding so i have to practice way more😂
That's great! Glad to hear you upgraded and it was well worth it
Got mine like a couple months ago and was able to ride them in the first 4 hours. I’ve been practicing bcuz I’m starting college in the fall and wanna ride and show them off. Also can’t wait for the LED wheels there gonna be amazing at night 🔥
That's awesome! Eyes will be glued to you cruising campus
@@jmkride yep😁
Under 10 minutes??😅 Impossible.
I know skateboard, snakeboard, freebord, inline skating, rip stick, rip skates, snowboarding. But still took me a week to self pump one way on the free skates😅
I love carving on freeskates
The video itself is under 10 minutes 😆 but for real, it’s totally unrealistic but these steps should get you as close as possible. And if you’re one of the lucky few, you just might learn it faster than most 😊 hoping these tips help many beginners out there!
Great tips! I will try to convince some new people into freeskates in a couple of week during a workshop of our board association. Currently I'm the only freeskater there, the rest all do longboarding and or skateboarding.
I will keep this guide in mind when explaining people, to increase chances I can get people excited about freeskates too, instead of all new recruits just going for the longboards or skateboards, which have easier basics.
That's great! Hopefully these tips can help and you'll have some more riders with you!
Great tips!
Excelente, vou comprar o meu esse mês!
I got another question. Which things can i change to jmk parts on my 30 dollars Amazon free skates?
i watched so many of your tutorial videos before first stepping on freeskates, and on a slight decline, i could ride like 50m with slight pumping after 15 mins (until the hill started do even out and a bit upwards, which doesn't auite work yet). so much fun!
That's amazing! So happy they helped
I just bought ones and watching the videos it looks easy but first it needs to learn to balance on freeskates. I won’t give up
Never give up! Trust the process
Man, I do inline and some skateboarding, i really feel like i can do it, I might buy some
Good stuff, man.
I'm surprised you said that protective gear is not a requirement for new skaters, though. Even just a helmet.
Without guidance or supervision, it only takes one bad fall to end things for someone.
Official stance - Always wear protective gear!
Classic CYA comment, Karen. Geeze dude. Lol😅
2:46 lmao a knuckles sweater
Does it have to be on a good road before you can drive it?
Crips must be great at free line with that footwork lmao.
1,000th like!
So I have a question is there global shipping
So you can't start off from almost a standstill like on a waveboard?
hi, what are the protectors on the skates?
They're called edge guards. Available on our site
Great tips but when pumping and pushing off to start, how do I prevent my feat from sliding into awkward positions?
You need to continue to focus on going straight. Keeping your feet straight and under you should be natural before you begin to attempt to pump
Yep ok
Before I started to push off the ground to start, I would push off a wall. Then I learnt how to pump and combined it with pushing off the wall but when I combine it with pushing off the ground. I would start to pump and my feet slip. Also I am very light😊
I mine , freeskets is learning to easy
you if think yeah
Bro i rly need private lessons
I've had these even before covid but only tried once. My friends are too scared to try them with me which makes it pretty boring to practice.
Break them out, show them the kids trying and get them on them! 😎😂🤣
im confused as to why they dont wanna make one with straps on. Even if we got the basics it would really help if we wanna try to get airtime on the skatepark without losing foot on one of them
I hit a little pebble while riding and flew right off make sure the terrain is flat
Yes, definitely want to make sure the area is free of debris. Hope you're alright!
Im having ptoblems pushing off its not fast enough😥
I am at that point where I can role on these and go down a road, but I can’t propel yet :/
It takes time, but you’ll get it! Slowly start to practice the motion, without worrying about speed at first. Once you get more comfortable with that, you can start pushing and pulling to try and gain speed on less steep declines, or even flat ground. Good luck 🙏
I live in the Netherlands, and im not joking, i fr do not know where to even find a slight decline...
You can also pull along a fence to get the feel
Hi jmk ride this is Dhiren from india me and my friends want a pair of freeskates so can you open a shop in India pls .. i hope you will answer me back thank you
We hope to someday have a shop in Inida and make it more convenient for you to get them!
@jmkride Thanks jmkride
Scooter rider
Hmmm yes downhill 45 degrees my favorite!
>no scooter
It is what it is.
Anyone have experience using these with big feet?? I’m a size 12-13 lol
Are these safe in snow/slush?
Almost no skate device is good in snow/slush. Bad for bearings
Just got mine, and it doesnt looks easier than i thoughht😭
Be patient and trust the process
I feel like my feet are too small >
I'm a heavy guy. I can Freeskate, but I look like a fat doofus.
More like awesome!
Can i get one for free
I nd it so badly
Can you sponsor me a pair please😊
As I can't afford to purchase it
this is to hard I can't get my balance im going to quit
Pls don’t give up
@@user-zu6bk1et6m is it because I don't have jmks
do u get speed by the same technique with these ripsticks/waveboard thingys?
More like a snakeboard. But in the same family
