I noticed that Joel always seems to hesitate a little before making reassurances to Ellie, like "nobody's going to find us", or "we're going to get out of this", even going back to episode one before they leave the QZ, when she says "you know where to go... so we're going to be okay", Joel pauses a while before saying "Yeah". In the first episode, he promised Sarah that they were going to be okay, and I think that has weighed really heavily on him for the past 20 years. It made 100% sense to me that after he promised Ellie nobody was going to find them in the woods that first night, he stayed up to stand watch to make sure.
Your excitement when watching the episode is contagious. It's the same way I feel. I agree it's a brilliant adaptation. The dialogue in the show is even better than in the game and makes it more grounded and humanized. And it's more realistic too bc here, Joel is a person with vulnerability, not a super human, killing bad guys and infected. I'm glad this episode happened bc it builds the relationship between Ellie and Joel, even though nothing much happen. However, I know this is episode is setting the foundation for the next episode as this is a 2 episodes arc. Can't wait for next Friday but I'm also don't want it to end bc there are only 9 episodes and I heard they rushed the last arc in episode 9.

Nice to see Joel warm up to Ellie. Loved the visual effects of this episode :you can see all the destruction, the abandoned cars and the roads deteriorated. Solid episode

Another great episode! Some great bonding between Joel and Ellie and introducing some new characters that weren't in the game, i.e. Kathleen and her right-hand guy, played by the voice actor for Tommy in the game, as you said. Great additions to the world of the Last of Us.
Great reaction I loved this episode it was almost directly from the game the only major differences are they're in Kansas instead of Pittsburgh and the leader of the hunters is an original character it's a good thing that the next episode comes out Friday because of the Super Bowl

It originally came out on PS3, that would be a really economical way to play it if you could find one at a pawn shop or something. True the graphics would be a little dated, but that's the way I first played the game (and the DLC) and I would 100% say I got the full experience.
