24:30 “She’s Clumsy”
Is She Clumsy? I Don’t Think We’ve EVER Seen Ellie Be “Clumsy”
“What’s Under The Rocks”
C’mon Spartan, If You’ve Played The Game You Should Know Exactly What’s Under Those Rocks 😏
The reason Joel didn't give Ellie a gun before btw wasn't a lack of trust. It was because he didn't want her to have to use it. Atleast that's the way i see it, he wanted her to keep her innocence.
That’s how i saw it too he sees a great of her in his daughter except she’s more of a bad ass so he worries about her. It’s only logical! 🥷🏼🤍
It was absolutely both things.
Of course, that's how we see it too from Joel's perspective.... but from Ellie's I think she feels seen and trusted.
@@SpartanandPudgey Uhh got you I was just saying from Joel's PoV I get what you mean about Ellie.
@@xXSinForLifeXx It's definitely also the trust thing. You shouldn't give a gun to a random untrained kid.
'he just knocked him out"... Oh you sweet summer child 😁
Yeah that made me laugh. Cause Joel would just punch someone not stab them lol
I loved how the dialogue between Joel and Ellie in the truck was verbatim with the dialogue in the game.
I'm loving how Joel is finally letting Ellie in. The chemistry between them is truly amazing. You can feel it through the screen.
The final scene with the laughter was fantastic. I wonder if Joel has properly laughed in the last 20 years?
FUN FACT:
The actor who played Kathleen's main henchman, Perry ( Jeffrey Pierce ) in tonight's episode voiced Tommy in the video game.
The second I heard his voice I was like wait what! It's like when Ashley Johnson voices a lot of things, you can hear her from a mile away.
@@traviscue2099 Both Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker will be in the show as well.
@@matthewmonkell2810 Yeah I saw a sneak of them in the trailer. It's weird seeing Troy age, since his face gets more and more Joel-like. But hyped to see both of them!
@@matthewmonkell2810 yup and I think Ashley will be playing ellie's mother
@@traviscue2099 yea honestly they could have let Troy play Joel and it would have been fine
Sorry Spartan, but it sounded like you said, "Oh, so that's his crew he was with before." I see why Pudgey thought what she did.
26:54 "Oh, so that was his *_past_* crew that he was with, okay..." What a difference a mere "like" makes to the meaning. ^^
@@irrelevant_noob His "past" crew and his crew "he was with before" are pretty much synonymous. He absolutely seemed to be saying Joel worked with those guys previously.
I agree.
@@HuntingViolets there's no "before" tho, so "his past crew" and "the crew he was with" aren't quite all that synonymous.
PS Re-watching this since i had forgotten the context, i was basically agreeing with the OP, with the minor nitpick that he didn't have the full statement (including "past") in there. But my main point is that since the "like" was missing from Spartan's intended "was _like_ his past crew," the OP and Pudgey were correct. (I usually add my bump for the yt algorithm by including timestamp replies for comments lacking them, sometimes adding the actual quote too.)
27:26 Bro I love Pudgey and the eyeroll 😂😂
I'm sure you guys will learn the difference but the infected person Ellie killed in episode 3 was not a clicker. Clickers have fungal growths covering their eyes like it has exploded from their brain (where the infection manifests) they also make vocal calls as they can't see so they are using echolocation to target their prey, hence why they had to be quiet in episode 2. The infected in episode 3 seemed more like a stalker as the fungal growth was on his face but he still had vision and he also wasn't clicking. You've got runners, stalkers, clickers and another but you haven't met that one yet ;)
Yeah you can see that he literally looks at Ellie he can definitely see.
Thanks for explaining Maddie ❤️❤️
I suspect we will tonight!
That other one is never going to be in the show, as spores apparently are nonexistent in the show
@@SnailHatan I think not, have you seen episode 5 yet? 😩
22:15 It's not the same shop that Sara went to. That was back in Austin, texas in episode 1. The other side of the country. Joel, Tess, and Ellie were in Boston (east coast) when they set out to meet with the Fireflies. And as Joel explained in the previous episode, now they are going to Wyoming over 2000 miles away to find Tommy. The road signs they show at the beginning of this episode show that they are in Kansas City, halfway to Wyoming. Fun reaction guys! Glad you tackled this series.
😂 lol pudgey's annoyed eyeroll at spartan
Our lady Pudgey’s eye rollers work well bless her heart lol
It wasn’t the pistol that he had pointed at Joel, it was Franks gun that he grabbed out of the desk and took outside with him when the marauders were attacking.
22:30 The clock shop Sarah went to, was in Austin, Texas. Right now, they're in Kansas City, Missouri. (a good 10 hour drive between the two cities). But the show is shot in and around Calgary, in Canada. Maybe they reused the location. Now that you mention it, it does look familiar.
I don't think so, the front of the shop is a different design and the walls are different color, and there's no counter
You talk about crying during episodes. I cried tears of joy at the last joke. It was so stupid but well placed and Joel's response was beautiful. I didn't get teary eyed last episode but for some reason this one got me.
How cool is watching Pedro Pascal as Joel in Last of Us and as Oberyn Martell in Got
it's quite the experience haha
I'm with Pudgey. I was super confused by the way you put it regarding Kathleen's crew. It sounded to me like you were saying Joel had been a part of that specific crew.
I knew he was speaking metaphorically, comparing Joels crew to this crew, but Pudgey took his words verbatim. I can see how that might create the misunderstanding that ensued.
Hey guys! Love your content!
19:39 This is not the same guy as the guy on the radio in episode 1, nor does this group have anything to do with Joel or the pills he sold to the guard.
26:50 Joel didn't mean that he was part of the exact same group, but that he did the same thing. He was ambushing other people and killing them to get their stuff.
Can't wait for the next episode and your reaction to it! :)
Greetings from Germany :)
Greetings from the other side of the world, guys! Found your channel recently and it's been a fun ride so far. You guys are great
Thank you and Welcome 😃❤
Where are you from ? I’m from the other side too in Egypt 😂
So Joel didn’t knock out Bryan, as you saw him dead in the group scene soon after, but that “thud” was Joel using Bryan’s own knife to stab him.
Also clickers are stage 3 infected. The infected that Ellie killed was a stage 2 infection. They have a name too, but they haven’t revealed it yet in the show.
I didnt even notice Joel had rolled over to his right side, and thats why he didnt hear Henry and Sam sneak up on them. That was a good catch and good attention to detail by the producers.
Was one of the last things said in the previous scene, if missed that then gotta be pretty slow
Joel was also tired and didn’t have much sleep prior, so coupled that exhaustion with him on his right side is most likely the reason why he didn’t hear them/wake up until Ellie called his name out loud.
pudgey is so perceptive with these character arcs
Yes she really is I love that about her
Something that stood out to me, that relates to the show runners saying the show is about love, & the good and bad things love will make you do. Kathleen’s love for her brother and the need for revenge, while understandable, causes her to kill a doctor, which is a huge asset to have in this world, and ignoring a huge problem & stalling on dealing with what’s underneath the ground.
Also, Joel & Ellie are hours and miles away from Joel’s hometown, Austin, TX.
Kathleen's brother has nothing to do with the guy Joel beat up. They're traveling a long way across the U.S. Think of it like Boston is Melbourne, the town Tommy is in in Wyoming is Cairns, and Kansas City, where they are now is a small city near Brisbaine. They're traveling east to west instead of south to north, but the distances are roughly the same.
Thank you for explaining this in Australian terms, because I think Pudgey and Spartan’s unfamiliarity with American geography is why they’re confused about how far Ellie and Joel are at this point from either Austin or Boston.
Fun fact: A semi truck is blocking the tunnel under the bridge. Kansas City infamously has a tunnel with a low clearance that trucks often crash into.
Joel is from Texas so that isn't the the clock shop that Sarah went to.
Probably why I didn’t like driving through KC
The gun Ellie finds is Frank’s gun, the one he pulled out during the raiders fight. Bill had a 1911 at the table with Joel and Tess, much different, larger and a more powerful gun.
Voice actor of Tommy from the games cant be missed. That voice stands out
Watching Melanie Lynskey go from a crazy stalker to a resistance leader is a treat.
I think the gun was Frank's and might have been a call back to when Joel found Frank's suicde note in the game so the notes might have been Frank's as well. In episode 3, Frank grabs the same gun to help protect against the raiders.
The watch shop in Episode 1 is in Austin Texas, they are in Kansas City, Missouri. Definitely not the same shop.
lol pudgey's annoyed eyeroll at spartan
The city there in is Kansas City Kansas which is more towards the middle of the country where Boston is on the east coast of the US.
It's nice to see other people's live emotions on your favorite TV series.
35:43 The smile to the camera from Spartan 😂
😅😅
Kathleen also plays one of the stepsisters in the movie Ever After :) love your reactions!
Knowing how bella and pedro are together irl, that scene with the diarrhea joke felt like it was them having a laugh rather than joel and ellie. Im here for it 👏🏻
INFECTED TYPES:
Runners: 2 Days to 2 Weeks ( lesioned skin )
Stalkers: 2 Weeks to 1 Year ( fungal growth on head / one eye remaining )
Clickers: 1 Year or more ( No vision / fungal growth on body / use of echo-location )
Those are not just rocks. Its a cement floor slab. Whats in cities? Underground sewer systems. Also do you remember Tess saying that the fungi cordyceps spreads underground
21:15 Yup! That's the girl from *_Two and a Half Men,_* and guess what? She's Kiwi!
"why are all these pages stuck together?" LOL
I don’t know if this helps but the show starts in Austin Texas which is south. They then travel north east to Boston Massachusetts. Then drive to Kansas City which is relatively central in the US. Then head West to Wyoming.
It’s a massive treck. It would have taken them a long long time to get as far as they did.
I enjoy seen you smile and happy, there is alot of suffering here and in Game of Thrones so a little happiness is nice to spice things up.
Another fantastic reaction to this emotional rollercoaster!
I think he's saying he's been ambushed and he's been the person doing the ambushing.
Love ur reactions. Can't wait to get back on ur Patreon 4 GOT Season 4.
22:28 Joel and Ellie are on the other side of the continent pretty much. Safe to say they are never visiting Joel's home town.
I’d hardly call KC the other side of the continent from Austin
@@walker1tnrangermaybe they meant country lol
You guys are that is Rose from 2 1/2 Men her name is Melanie Lynsky. She is also on a show called Yellowjackets.
nice relaxing weekend and I love you channel
loved how the dialogue between Joel and Ellie in the truck was verbatim with the dialogue in the game.
I'm loving how Joel is finally letting Ellie in. The chemistry between them is truly amazing
Pudgey, you were so close to cry at this episode, when Élie get back behind the wall ! Too bad ! Im sorry but i love see you cry 😂
Thank you for your réaction gys
Just as an FYI, Kansas City is in a really hilly and forested part of western Missouri.
It's 2,300 kilometers, and change, from Boston to Kansas City; so, no, Joel didn't know anybody in KC.
They may have re-used some sets, but Joel, Sarah and Tommy lived in Austin, Texas.
That's almost 1,200 km from Kansas City.
A friend of mine has family in Missouri, and drives through Kansas City, pretty regularly, and he said it's an absolute shit-show of unmarked intersections and highways that just seem to come to an end.
He said the scene where they get turned around in the Kansas City surface streets is absolutely believable.
Originally they were in Texas, then in Boston . Joel and ellie drove all the way to Kansas City, which is like 20 hours from Boston so they probably won't know anyone there. (I know yall probably don't know US geography that well. I know I don't know Australias) love yalls videos. Yall are so cute!
I love the part where she is all "Wooow. What the fuck is that!?" at coffee 😆 The best. Must open her eyes the minute she smells it.
35:33 - The foreshadowing that Spartan did here for the next episode, defintely on point! (Last episode has already been released on youtube during this comment)
The guy playing Bryan who Joel killed was excellent in selling his scared and pleading character, brutal hearing him be killed off screen
love your reactions!!
12:34 ahahhahahaha nice bro 😀👍
Another great reaction and I cant wait to see your reactions to Game of Thrones season 4. Love you both.
S A M E season 4 and 6 I can’t freaking wait man!
Kathleen is from Ever After with Drew Barrymore. She's one of the stepsisters. The good one.
thanks for interesting discussion 🙏🏼
The girl, scolding ellie when she doesn’t listen. 😂😂😂😂. Not us all parenting her. I love that.

That wasn't the same shop, that was in Austin Texas. Didn't even look similar, that shop had clocks all over every wall and a big counter down the middle with white walls, this was some kind of café or restaurant by the looks of it, with red/brown painted walls. Not a re-used set either because the front is totally different design with the doorway inset.
After the emotional first three episodes, it was so nice to have a little breather with just fun character development between Joel and Ellie. These are the moments that fleshes out the characters. It wasn't until this episode that I was 100% sure about Ellie (Bella Ramsey). She's perfect for that role.
Just enjoy these moments while you can, I think sh*t's about to hit the fan.
(Hey, that rhymes)😁
Honestly I’m still not sure. She does fine in the lowkey, more genuine moments but it still is like every time she yells or is sarcastic or tries to be funny it just feels so shallow and forced to me. It never lands. Just like her loud strong character in another felt very surface-level and fake. The delivery of everything by Ashley Johnson is so much better
Pudgey shoulda thrown the challenge flag and show Spartan the replay to show he was wrong.
This show keeps getting better and better the chemistry between Joel and Ellie is so fascinating couldn’t imagine better casting for the roles Pedro and Bella are uniquely and effortlessly talented!
I live in Kansas City this is an accurate depiction all around 👍😅
Well done guys
this is very cool! i love it!
Incorrect title. The episode is "Please Hold to My Hand", as per the lyric from the song *Alone and Forsaken* by Hank Williams, featured in the episode:
> … Alone and forsaken by fate and by man
> Oh Lord, if you hear me, please hold to my hand
> Oh, please understand
thanks, fixed!
Такого ещё не видела. Super🎉
Voice actor of Tommy from the games cant be missed. That voice stands out :D
They drove quite a distance, from Boston to Kansas City (at least I think they are in Kansas), which is approximately 1,400 miles or 2,250km. So no, they didn't know any of these people or places.
11:40 When you watch Fast X trailer lol
very nice video, i love you channel bro ❤️❤️😊
this channel with the most interesting reactions.
You should definitely check out Melanie Lynskey and Kate Winslet in _Heavenly Creatures,_ directed by Peter Jackson. It was the first film for both actresses.
Wow 😮 it’s 0:05
You two should consider watching Goodwill Hunting and Chernobyl (created by the same crew of this show) Great content, guys
Love your content, good 👍
You two are the best looking reaction couple I watch. I also really enjoy your reactions to this and ATLAB. Cannot wait for the live action Netflix show!
True they are relatable yet interesting looking in my opinion they also have a great chemistry, intelligent, empathetic and most importantly they don’t fake emotions! They also both have a beautiful laugh and good attention span lol!
Also the “Why Are These All Stuck Together?” scene is also straight outta the game and it's where you find out that Bill is gay and by partner, Bill actaully means partnerrrrr 😅
"I think he just knocked him out" - SPARTAN 18:50
You guys seemed a little confused about the radio and who Joel's connection was. Bill was his connection. The radio code in the book said B/F and Ellie asked, "Who's Bill and Frank?" when she was figuring out the code. Bill would either get stuff from the town or scavenge to get stuff and would let Joel know through the radio code if they have anything new in or not. In the last episode, you hear Frank tell Tess that he came up with a code for the radio, in case someone was listening, and he mentioned the music decades.
And yes, Joel stabbed that guy, Bryan, with his own knife. Probably because he didn't want to waste ammo. I also think you missed in the conversation Kathleen had with the doctor that Henry ratted out her brother to FEDRA and they beat him to death. That's why she's single-minded about finding and killing Henry. She's obviously blinded by a vendetta, relating everything (Joel killing the ambush dudes) to Henry and ignoring the obvious problem in the basement of that building to focus on catching Henry.
I like their reactions ))
Nice Video 👌🏻
nice video bro
8:14 I was almost convinced they'd skipped this scene last episode. Everything that plays out until they take off the road is nearly word-for-word taken from the game. Compared to the little of Sarah in the beginning I was surprised they stayed so truthful to it for this scene xD
34:11 class
That’s a really funny video😅
I got the impression as a viewer watching Spartan that he was getting very emotionally invested in episode 3. He seemed as if he was on the verge of a full on cry at any moment. To be honest that kind of publicly expressed emotional vulnerability coming from a guy like Spartan (who I am presuming through a couple of his comments here on RUclips and their silly “free speech/woke” proclamation on their Patreon page is unfortunately influenced a bit online by poor examples of manliness such as Joe Rogan) is nonetheless very encouraging. I know this is may be a heavily resisted take by the “Alpha’s” among us but real men, alpha or not🙄, are generally in tune with their feelings. They have no shame and can find joy, tragedy, beauty or a truly honest love story in so many different ways even in what might traditionally have been viewed an unlikely place such as a gay relationships. It was really nice seeing this and goes to prove that a “masculine” dude is still a masculine dude despite them freely displaying certain emotions that some of these “manosphere guru’s” definitely but wrongly encourage suppressing if you’re “truly a man.” That’s why I love this channels reactions, they seem very authentic and done from the heart. If that authenticity wasn’t there or should change I believe they would not be indistinguishable from so many channels and it would show in a lack of success which is not happening to them. Quite the contrary, they are deservedly thriving in this, let’s face it, over saturated RUclips reactions genre.
Spartan and Pudgey are not same old same old at all. They are much more thoughtful than so many I see doing this same kinds of stuff but in a much less fun and end entertaining way.
Wishing you both a long and successful time doing this :)
Nice videos 👍

dull thump was joel stabbing him with the knife
nice touch, save ammo
