when Tyrion got more serious , and ceased being king of the one liners, the hound and tormund had to carry alot. my fav hound and berric moment is when he calls the brotherhood a bunch of swine heards and tells berric that he has seen better days

The Hound, realest and most lucid character
Born to be The Lions’ Dog but grew to become The Wolf Girl’s Savior. The Hound lived for revenge and at the end gained what he wanted all that time. He dies happy knowing he killed his monster of a brother and raised two wolf pups to be a Queen and the other to be a Knight.

@@andrewforte3852 I was just on another lady's channel, and she did an Arya/Sandor supercut. That was the first time I realised the significance and the sentiment behind what she said. Made me a bit misty there for a moment. She was thanking him for convincing her that there's more for her than vengeance and death, yes. But more importantly, she was thanking him for watching over her when she had nobody, and in his own way, loving her like a father figure. Just like he wanted to do for his little bird. Dammit. 😢

I don't care if this an unpopular opinion, but Sandor Clegane had the best character arc in the entire series. He was my favorite character and one of very few who I actually cared about and was so sad to see he didn't get a happy ending for his suffering. I know killing his brother made him happy, but at the cost of his own life?
Did he ever experience true happiness? What a tragic character.

The hound is such a well constructed and illustrated character.. abused childhood made him numb to dark and pain. But still, he was terrified when the Wildfire tore Stannis's fleet into shreds, and when the army of the dead swarmed Winterfell. He felt sorrow when Arya left him to die, but still he saved Arya by sending her away before his last moment fighting with his own brother.
Under layers and layers of malicious hostility that Westeros forced onto him, Sandor has a good heart that wishes things around him would change for the better. He is truly a good man born at the wrong time.
My favorite Character :/......So much wisdom and loyalty in someone so dark.

Tip of the cap to Rory McCann. Sandor is my favourite character in the entire show and it isn't even close. A truly underrated character, with fantastic development over the course of the eight seasons. His bond with Arya is also one of the stronger relationships this show provided us with. Love you, Sandor (Rory)

That scene was so classic. Polliver just keeps on digging his hole deeper and deeper, and Arya knows the line has been crossed and the Hound is going to blow up any second.

I can relate to Sandor. When you're treated like shit by others for so long, you become jaded and cynical towards the world too. But after his interactions with Arya and Sansa, that's when he realized there are things in this world that's worth fighting for.

I love Sandor. He was such a cynical, pessimistic, burnt out shell of a human being. He was surrounded by evil, but he was...different. He almost seemed like a man that existed parallel to all the other characters and events around him, instead of being a part of them.

One of the only characters the show writers didn't assassinate, although one addition i would have made (and d&d should have too if they actually read the books) is include the story about the hounds sister dying and it being implied the mountain killed her, it would give the hounds character more of a selfless reason for wanting revenge and also explain why he protected Sansa and Arya when he didn't need to. All in all Rory did an amazing job.
My favorite, by far. People talk about his "character arc," and "character development," but I think he didn't change at all. He was always the same person, deep inside. The only thing that changed was his willingness-- or, unwillingness-- to put up with his station in life. Yes that's a major decision, but it's a decision, none the less. It's not a shift in basic character. It was his basic character that led him to this decision. Then everything he does, after leaving the Kingsguard, is testament to his basic character.

No other character in the show made me feel connected like the Hound did. He was the most realist, down to earth, and loyal of all of them. Every little scene with him had a reason, an objective, and was brilliantly acted by Rory McCann. One of the most beautiful things in the show was his relationship with Arya. It was just so realistic, with its ups and downs, Arya transformed herself because of him, she survived because of him. Sandor was called a hound, not because of his fighting skills, but because of his principles. He was loyal to the end.
Hound is my favourite character. His redemption arc was amazing. The way he grabbed the axe to avenge his innocent friends was the starting of his redemption.
One of the few characters that actually had a good arc till the end.
Brilliant edit. Showcased the majority of his best feats, and a little of his sass, but still a tribute none the less. My favourite character from his introduction to the end. Loved his so-called 'evilness' which turned into grey morals.
Ironic as humanly possibly, his family was only made a House (Something Sandor abhorred - all knight/lordships, maybe down to their pretentiousness) with the banner of three dogs in order to serve the 'Lions' (Lannisters), which in turn who hated the 'Wolves' (Starks) - which the only thoughtful Clegane ended up saving and serving in the end (both Sansa and Arya).
Wasn't a fan nor a hater of the ending of S08, just pissed and bitter he was shown to be killed off while some lit sources have another line for him. Again, he was made to seem dead before in the TV show.
Still, I'm a sad fanfic writer. I'll always be hoping there is some rectification somewhere.In the meantime, I'm sure I'll both amuse and slap myself with the new GoT FF I'm feeling compelled to write.

Game of thrones really fills a special place in my heart. This show is much more than 10/10 but a true masterpiece that I can't really put into words of how great it is. Each character has found a way into my heart and they all have such an interesting personality and/or backstory.

I understand everyone saying that he deserved a better ending. But it serves a deeper meaning, he spent his entire life looking for vengeance on his brother for burning his face. The fact that he dies by getting his vengeance and doing so by burning his brother, perfectly ends his story.
Royalx Games the reason I think he deserved a better death was because his whole arc was to stand up to his brother and that wasn’t just fighting him but facing his fear of fire and he didn’t really do that. That’s why I’m upset at least I wanted him to face his fear of fire not just jump into it. But oh well

Was tough to go through season 5 without him in it, and couldn't hate season 8 because he was in it. The only character who pulled through the entirety of the show with absolutely the same screen presence & attitude beginning to end. Rory did his part well, much better than any other main character to be precise!
