I know this is a old video but I have a question for you. My daughter's 2016 has the electric emergency brake. I have watched videos on how to retract the emergency brake. Will the rest of the job and brake pads be the same? Your video was great. The best one yet. I've been changing brakes rotors for years but the electric emergency brake is something I've never come across. Thanks
Pro tip....from a novice (me) make SURE you notice which caliper you're putting on first in the back; Right versus Left; they are NOT the same. What? the Brake hoses have "cut outs" for them to rest in...one has Both cut outs on the "ear" of the caliper,...whiles the other has ONLY ONE cut out. This is to reflect on which one goes WHERE. If you screw this up (50% probability; two choices)...you'll have to switch sides of the caliper install. Hard to explain without one being there. Best: match the new one, to the one coming off; don't guess, and look at where the brake line inserts; match THAT part to "see if it matchs/one cut out, versus two". End
What's the life expectancy on a parking brake and cables? I use my pb frequently and have 156,000km on my 2012 CRV. Honda tells me I need new hardware but I'm suspicious. I've owned several Honda vehicles and never had to do this work before. Thanks.
Wassup Andrew the adjustment which I believe is for the parking brake should be adjusted depending on your car. If you pull the parking brake and it doesn't get right by the 7th click you'll have to adjust them
Have a 2009 Honda Accord. Rear rotors, pads, and calipers replaced. Now handbrake is extremely loose when engaged. Did the technician forget to adjust the handbrake? Thanks
@@SEsGarageShould he have adjusted the handbrake cables during? Just spoke to the technician and he said to bring it back. Is this another charge? Thanks
@@frr5688 I’d consider that to be a comeback and I personally would not charge you depending on what I find. If it’s from not adjusting the shoes when he did the brakes that’s on him. If your cable is stretched or needs adjustment that’s a separate issue and could expect to have to pay to have them adjust it depending on what’s involved in adjusting it

When do you need to do this adjustment? Ive seen others change their rear rotors and not do this in their videos

Sound like it! That or your cable needs adjusting
