If you're gonna use the SO-14 in semi: Just kit the EBR-14 for more close-medium range combat and stick the 20 round mag on it and call it a day, as that gun's much better in that regard.
The SO-14 in semi has a significantly faster fire rate than the EBR-14, and a much better body ttk potential as a result. The EBR's 10 round mag also demands a bigger mag attachment if you want to take it into close range.

That's really just the Battle Rifle class in general as far as I can tell. If you're using it in semi, you're far better off using a Marksman Rifle. If you're using it in full auto, you're far better off using an Assault Rifle. It's like they've taken the worst aspects of both weapons and excluded any of their benefits.
Stuff like this is why they need to give detailed stats, it starts in semi-auto by default so you would think it would be better to build it like a DMR which is a complete trap since it’s more consistent at range in full auto if you can control the recoil. If it got some small buffs to its semi-auto mode it could be an awesome DMR/LMG hybrid
Highly underrated gun. Just get better at aiming and it slays in semi auto. Reminds me of classic m14 or FAL from Black Ops. Lethal in the right hands. Ran several shipment lobbies with it
I run it with the wood stock, overpressured, and the fork flash hider. Looks like an old school m14 and is versatile. Up close, full auto. Long range, semi auto.
This thing actually kind of slaps in DMZ. Kit it for range with a variable scope, and the 50 rd drum, and you can one tap base AI in the head, and use it like an LMG and close to mid range. I prefer to take a sniper rifle in but this setup is a very versatile option.
I actually enjoyed the SO-14. I use it like the EBR, but with the ability of the fun switch just in case for close encounters. Its a very versatile weapon, but people compare apples to oranges because they're fruits.
There is a pattern with the recent CoDs. One gun in a specific class will be bobbins. A few months after release, for some easy extra content, they'll nerf the class leader and buff the pup. Saw it in MW2019 with the FAL and the Uzi to name a few. I think it is deliberate. Keep an eye on this one. It will get good at some point.
We're the FAL and Uzi not dlc guns? Usually the new gun is 'broken' while they sell kitted blueprints and they set an unreasonable challenge to unlock it

This gun Is already powerful enough! It has range and the rate of fire is the same as the aug with same TTk and Better multiplier zones! Deck It out for close range and u have the best gun in the game!
My favorite gun so far is the tac v. Waiting for the gun guide for that. I think it’s the closest gun to my favorite in mw 2019 the oden i hope they bring it back!
I make it ADS as fast as possible, keep the fights close to mid range, and only use semi auto. Definitely not a great gun, but it’s definitely useable. It does need a buff though, I find that battle rifles do in general.

Since I like making LMGs out of anything, I'll probably enjoy using it. The HK11 and HAMR will probably feel better but I'm still looking forward to building this into an LMG at some point.

This gun is actually pretty awesomely versatile once you get to know it. From getting platinum I found it can be awesomely effect even at long range! With Dual optics you can switch between a Marksman Rifle and shorter range-AR basically, or you can make it more LMG styled with the drum mag.

Unlike the other Battle Rifles, you will find yourself having good use of switching between semi-auto and auto mid-life for good adaptation. All the other BR’s are either only good in Semi, or only good in auto.

I LOVE this gun man. I don’t know what it is, but I adore it as much as I adored the DMR in CW. The one problem I always have with the way the M14 is depicted in games is the fact that it’s never full auto like it should be. That might be part of what makes me like this gun so much, the fact that it’s a more accurate depiction of the M14 than previous games have given us. In any case, extremely fun to use, extremely fast killing in DMZ, where I play the most, and just all around a truer depiction of the M14 than most games have given us. This thing obliterates enemies (AI or players) that have armor plates, it’s kind of insane.
Support build focus in slower playstyles and uses both modes. Used Holo-flip hybrid, 7.62 Bore Muzzle Attachment, ADS Laser (Your choice), Ripper Angled Grip, and Over pressured Rounds. Use Semi-Auto and the Zoom sight for long range engagements and when you have to do CQB switch to full auto and flip to the holo sight. The weapon can become both a Long range weapon that can harass sniper and a High Damage CQB weapon when in Full auto. You can lock yourself to one mode or the other but for passive players wanting to play as a support, then you can use both modes with big success.
my personal favorite set up is with a reflex optic, 20 round mags, the comb that has more ammo, and the muzzle that increases melee damage, fmj and laser that increases stability but without being visible to enemy. I find it best as a lmg/AR hybrid. if you use it like the bar in ww2 games you should be able to utilize this setup effectively.

Nah lol. It's just preferential and nobody wants to use them. They're slow, weak at range, not very accurate, and there's just outright better options. If you're having fun with them that's perfectly fine but most people hated them while doing the camo challenges

I shredded with this gun last night. The changes I made were that I used the vibro canted laser and the spider grip rear grip instead of a foregrip attachment.
This is a battle riffle that is ACTUALLY a battle riffle... You can actually use it at RANGE. The lachman 762 and Recon should have this thing's recoil
I love this rifle, it is so versatile and the ttk is great. With a 3.4x schlager in semi auto between 25-70m and in 10-30m full auto melt the opponents.
I'm almost gold with this gun. It's useless as a semi mode when automatic weapons kill with less hits. It's recoil Is insane too once you try to start making the gun snappier and more mobile.
Do you typically run a larger mag on it? I'm wanting to just build for a blend of stability, bullet speed and recoil but idk if 20 rounds will cut it for dealing with parties of three
This gun is so much better than people think. First off, you can't stack recoil dampening attachments. Just throw on the bore muzzle to reduce horizontal recoil. Focus on STABILITY for attachments. Then, legit switch the fire mode all the time. Semi can reliability kill anything at any range, but close range, the full auto is a BULLET HOSE. Use it for CLOSE to CLOSE MED range. Semi auto does amazing for enemies in cover and med to long range. People seem to get confused by this weapon, and I think it's just because of how it's designed. It really isn't made for full auto at AR distances. More like SMG distances. More than any other weapon, you really should be switching fire modes all the time.
The G3 (Lachmann 762) is the only battle rifle that works well in semi auto. The SO14 is too inconsistent, the TAC-V is just the MW2 modern warfare scar-H when on full auto
Stick a 50 Round Drum mag and Incendiary bullets, and watch how quickly it kills VTOLS. As a regular rifle though, it really seems polarizing. People either swear by this gun or think its absolute trash. Even with the slight damage deduction with full auto, at close range, the full auto is murderous, you also get a ton of accidental headshots with it.
This is such a weird gun. I was excited to use it for the first time the other day after having a blast with the EBR-14. I didn't think the damage would drop so significantly. In tier 1, it only has 1 hit kill potential with headshots. Even in point blank range to the chest, it'll take at least 2 shots to kill. Needless to say, it's been a grind to finish leveling the attachments.
About the time I got used to it I unlocked the drum mag. Slapped that on, switched to auto, and didn't look back. Loud AF and felt great to me. Went from a bottom tier gun to mid/upper tier. But everyone is different. My aim just isn't the greatest with semi auto guns.
I agree this is better as an LMG compared to a DMR. When I was leveling this thing I original tried running it in semi-auto to middling results, but then I decided to slap the 50 round drum mag on for the hell of it and it felt so much better lol. That being said, I'd much rather use the drum mag on the TAC-V over this.
its basically a stat monster that requires good mechanical skill to make useful, if you can control the gun and push its ttk and raw power then its you having skill issue not the gun's fault
@@NeightrixPrime use the horizontal recoil muzzle and all your problem solved, firing range all 3 targets only 15 shots for full auto beaming to kill all 3. thats pretty consistent i dare say but again, im a former pubg player so i doubt controller can pull the same spray with little practice
I've actually found it to be one of the best personally along with the SCAR-H stand in. I *Hate* the Lackman. The F-TAC feels really inconsistent (To me) and only has a ten round mag. Also funnily enough at least in my experience, SO-14 is one of two BRs to start in full auto. Even with only a twenty round mag it feels like you are supposed to more often used it in full auto than semi auto. Just like the SCAR. Recoil can be hard to control sure, that just comes with the full power round territory. That said, I've found good success and satisfying play with it with just the twenty round mags. Reload more often than I'd like, but that's how I feel about most guns in the game. The TTK is so quick that unless you have a *very* good feel and a *Very* good instinct for when you have a kill. Most full auto guns that don't have a low RPM tend to blow 7-10 rounds before you get you register that you should let up on the trigger.
The thing i don't understand with every battle rifles is how i stack up every possible recoil control attachments and the guns is still unprecise, while half the other guns in the game are laser like.

I actually really enjoy using this gun, but I’ve always been an M14 fan. I haven’t used it in a while because I’ve been focusing on leveling up other guns. And sometimes I feel lazy, so I use the TAQ-V or some AR instead. I just don’t like the feel of the recoil on this for full auto. Semi is how I always use it.
Well, the M14 was in fact meant to replace....everything in the US arsenal. LMG was one role it was supposed to take, taking over from the BAR. So it's not too crazy of a build that way.
I really struggled with this gun, in both core and Tier 1 when going for gold. I only found success with it occasionally with a hip-fire meme build. Suppressor, bipod, hip-fire laser, drum mag.
I run mine with the 50 round drum and in semi. I much rather have the 2-3 kill with tight grouping. I just run it to avoid reloading as often as I can.
During this past double xp weekend I was trying to level up all the weapon classes to unlock attachments. The SO-14 was the only one I said 'nope, not worth it' while playing the shipment playlist 🤣
I absolutely love the M14 it's not the best gun in the game, but its definitely a-tier. I didn't use it full auto tho. I didn't think it was "unforgiving" at all, and at the ranges you're using the M14 the "punishing ttk increase" isn't really an issue at all. This thing is a melt machine imo, but the full auto recoil is ridiculous. Not worth using when you can kill most people you should be fighting in two shots.

The canted aiming laser makes this gun so much more fun to use. Definitely a weird gun, but it's not horrible for what it is

That's because it is a DMR. It's a Springfield Armory M1A chambered in .308. in the game, it's a POS and un realistic

My core dmz build is this with 50 round mag + a sniper. It shreds ai and handles pvp fine (but I usually snipe people in ppv anyways)
Try the same with the SCAR-H.

It will also destroy with drum mag + incendiary ammo any chopper gunner, VTOL or Heli in ONE mag. This is my go-to anti air setup.

I love this rifle, it is so versatile and the ttk is great. With a 3.4x schlager in semi auto between 25-70m and in 10-30m full auto melt the opponents.

I'm almost gold with this gun. It's useless as a semi mode when automatic weapons kill with less hits. It's recoil Is insane too once you try to start making the gun snappier and more mobile.
I actually love this gun as a DMR in DMZ. It’s actually really good when set up for long range. But other then that it’s not a easy gun to use.
Do you typically run a larger mag on it? I'm wanting to just build for a blend of stability, bullet speed and recoil but idk if 20 rounds will cut it for dealing with parties of three

Well the harsh difference between upper torso/lower torso-limbs explains why sometimes it one tapped and sometimes it healed players in tier 1
Could you make the color green on your damage range chart a lil darker? Hard to see if a two or three shot to kill with color blindness.

This gun is so much better than people think.
First off, you can't stack recoil dampening attachments. Just throw on the bore muzzle to reduce horizontal recoil. Focus on STABILITY for attachments.
Then, legit switch the fire mode all the time. Semi can reliability kill anything at any range, but close range, the full auto is a BULLET HOSE. Use it for CLOSE to CLOSE MED range. Semi auto does amazing for enemies in cover and med to long range.
People seem to get confused by this weapon, and I think it's just because of how it's designed. It really isn't made for full auto at AR distances. More like SMG distances. More than any other weapon, you really should be switching fire modes all the time.
Toss out the OLEV, go with the canted laser and tune for aim walking movement speed.

The G3 (Lachmann 762) is the only battle rifle that works well in semi auto. The SO14 is too inconsistent, the TAC-V is just the MW2 modern warfare scar-H when on full auto

This was the second gun I got gold on, loved the big mag on it but stuck to the 20rd mag and treated it like an AS VAL
Stick a 50 Round Drum mag and Incendiary bullets, and watch how quickly it kills VTOLS. As a regular rifle though, it really seems polarizing. People either swear by this gun or think its absolute trash. Even with the slight damage deduction with full auto, at close range, the full auto is murderous, you also get a ton of accidental headshots with it.
This is such a weird gun. I was excited to use it for the first time the other day after having a blast with the EBR-14. I didn't think the damage would drop so significantly. In tier 1, it only has 1 hit kill potential with headshots. Even in point blank range to the chest, it'll take at least 2 shots to kill. Needless to say, it's been a grind to finish leveling the attachments.
Agree on Full Auto over semi for this specific gun. I mean if I could get 1 shot headshots sure, but i like the mini LMG style better.
When grinding for the camos I used the SO-14 as an SMG and it felt insanely strong
About the time I got used to it I unlocked the drum mag. Slapped that on, switched to auto, and didn't look back. Loud AF and felt great to me. Went from a bottom tier gun to mid/upper tier. But everyone is different. My aim just isn't the greatest with semi auto guns.
I'll also add the SO-14 with 50 round mag and incendiary ammo will kill Killstreaks faster than anything else in the game.
I agree this is better as an LMG compared to a DMR. When I was leveling this thing I original tried running it in semi-auto to middling results, but then I decided to slap the 50 round drum mag on for the hell of it and it felt so much better lol. That being said, I'd much rather use the drum mag on the TAC-V over this.
its basically a stat monster that requires good mechanical skill to make useful, if you can control the gun and push its ttk and raw power then its you having skill issue not the gun's fault

@@NeightrixPrime use the horizontal recoil muzzle and all your problem solved, firing range all 3 targets only 15 shots for full auto beaming to kill all 3. thats pretty consistent i dare say but again, im a former pubg player so i doubt controller can pull the same spray with little practice
I've actually found it to be one of the best personally along with the SCAR-H stand in. I *Hate* the Lackman. The F-TAC feels really inconsistent (To me) and only has a ten round mag. Also funnily enough at least in my experience, SO-14 is one of two BRs to start in full auto. Even with only a twenty round mag it feels like you are supposed to more often used it in full auto than semi auto. Just like the SCAR. Recoil can be hard to control sure, that just comes with the full power round territory. That said, I've found good success and satisfying play with it with just the twenty round mags. Reload more often than I'd like, but that's how I feel about most guns in the game. The TTK is so quick that unless you have a *very* good feel and a *Very* good instinct for when you have a kill. Most full auto guns that don't have a low RPM tend to blow 7-10 rounds before you get you register that you should let up on the trigger.

Love the M14 and M21, they are very underrated imo
90% of why I use it is because with the wooden stock it looks kind of like the M1-Garand, and that’s just something no other weapon can provide
I feel like we've gone back in time and pressed the BAR back into service.
The thing i don't understand with every battle rifles is how i stack up every possible recoil control attachments and the guns is still unprecise, while half the other guns in the game are laser like.
Aim stability prolly. It affects your recoil because the gun still sways during recoil.
@@loadedexcrement on the taq v, for example, i did decrease it with the tac laser and the stock, still a mess. I don't think is that, rather something about using it on semi auto

I actually really enjoy using this gun, but I’ve always been an M14 fan. I haven’t used it in a while because I’ve been focusing on leveling up other guns. And sometimes I feel lazy, so I use the TAQ-V or some AR instead. I just don’t like the feel of the recoil on this for full auto. Semi is how I always use it.
I had really hoped this would be just a faster ebr but losing the headshot multi hurts this gun so much in semi

Well, the M14 was in fact meant to replace....everything in the US arsenal. LMG was one role it was supposed to take, taking over from the BAR. So it's not too crazy of a build that way.
Rn This , Kastov 545(i loved it pre-nerf glad it has been buffed) and Ftac Recon are my Fav weapons in this game
This gun is slept on. Absolutely dump trucks people in full auto.
I really struggled with this gun, in both core and Tier 1 when going for gold.
I only found success with it occasionally with a hip-fire meme build.
Suppressor, bipod, hip-fire laser, drum mag.
The dust devil blueprint works nicely in full auto.

Tier 1 makes this gun feel like a sniper so I would advise putting on a long range scope and just going ham.

this one was actually pretty easy to get longshots. the lach 762 was the PIA. that one took me longer than pretty much any other gun.

How does the TTK maths add up? 2 shot kill - 140 ms, 3 shot kill somehow doubles the speed of the first two shots and has TTK of 280ms?
I run mine with the 50 round drum and in semi. I much rather have the 2-3 kill with tight grouping. I just run it to avoid reloading as often as I can.
During this past double xp weekend I was trying to level up all the weapon classes to unlock attachments.
The SO-14 was the only one I said 'nope, not worth it' while playing the shipment playlist 🤣

I absolutely love the M14 it's not the best gun in the game, but its definitely a-tier. I didn't use it full auto tho. I didn't think it was "unforgiving" at all, and at the ranges you're using the M14 the "punishing ttk increase" isn't really an issue at all. This thing is a melt machine imo, but the full auto recoil is ridiculous. Not worth using when you can kill most people you should be fighting in two shots.

I will say that the SO-14 is super fun in warzone and melts people at close range in full auto
