Owning a Lexus Lx-570 and having owned a few land cruiser during my time, I feel savage saying this, but for price and features and off road capability, I would take the Lexus over the Landcruiser, and that tells you something after owning a cruiser for over 6 years, it has so much more grunt and a much better ride , but as I said the thing that got me was the off-road capabilities, the Lexus was just so much easier to deal with in terms of off-roading.
Off-road capability??? What tires do you have on the 21" wheels, and where do you carry your front bumper? Or do you just leave it there and get a new one each time?

11/27/2021 Land cruisers are wayyyy too expensive. Because they stopped bringing them to the US, people and dealerships are asking over 120k for used ones, some with 30k+ miles. One dealership asks 142k for a 2021 brand new heritage edition. I can still buy a new 2021 570 for 90k, lift it, put bigger wheels, change the grills to steel bumpers and still be under 120k. So in todays world it's easy to decide. Buying a land cruiser these days is crazy. Parts will go up in value over time. If you bought a Land cruiser in 2020 you got lucky. Today it just doesn't make sense.
You think that hybrid is sweet until you learn they don't last as long and when that battery dies, you have to sell your ass to get it fixed. Usually people just junk the cars it's that expensive.
You two do the BEST car reviews....concise, informative & easy to understand...with a touch of brotherly humor! The lack of blathering is a plus! Some channels have too much chit chat to be able to extract the important information quickly.
No touch screen is a point for the lexus, imo. Touchscreens in cars are not as practical as tactile knobs and buttons that one can adjust without having to look for and awkwardly poke at while driving. I imagine car makers love touch screens, as they’re cheaper and easier to implement than well thought out tactile interfaces.
First time off a real road the bumper / grill on the Lexus is toast, you yanks really are Magpies, shiny things attract birds of a feather! Real world vs Luxury mall crawler look at me!
would be nice if you explain the "why" behind some of the differences, such as towing. the adjustable/luxury suspension of the Lexus is the reason for the difference in towing. the same is true for the Sequoia TRD, which has a similar towing max due to the tuned suspension.
Love the split tail gate design. It’s like LR4 I wish land cruiser make better engine and not having people spend most weekend fixing or going to the shop 😂
Good exterior, interior and normal driving conditions review but off road comparison would’ve been nice since the LC is known to be a great off road SUV
Exemplary presentation. Visuals like this running count and split screen is genius. Far too many videotape themselves driving and talking about their vehicles for 30 mins, get upvotes, and think they're a great YT car reviewer.
LX is quieter. LX can lower and raise suspension, if you have a senior trying to get in, very helpful. Also if you are towing it will self level which is a great feature.
Man I wish Lexus would make a Sequoia alternative. Unfortunately, they don't have any gaps in their pricing for it so the customers would have to decide based on preference. The LX is unbeatable from a dependability standpoint, but the Sequoia is a more sensible styled big family hauler.
The only real differences between the two are that A) the LX has more tech, and tech gets outdated, and B) The LX requires more tweaks in order to make it off-road capable, due to the bumpers.
FYI - the Lexus suspension (AHC) is hydraulic, not air, and is very reliable and adjusts dynamically. The Land Cruiser uses KDSS kinetic dynamic suspension system that has a traditional steel spring/shock combo but adds a hydraulic unit that applies pressure to the sway bars to stiffen the response on road and relaxes it off road. I've had both an LX570 and 2016 LC in the past, and they're both very good on and off road. The Lexus suspension is better stock, but the Land Cruiser is far easier to modify. The biggest issue with the Lexus off road is clearance which is significantly worse with the low hanging front and rear bumpers, otherwise they are close to equal with the edge going to the Lexus for comfort and adjustability. Both are some of the most capable, comfortable, durable, and reliable trucks on the planet.
Land cruiser is more durable and don’t like the fancy body design of the Lexus. It def looks better when modded up but the land cruiser looks perfecttttt with bigger tires, off road wheels and a lift. The heritage edition looks amazing with the forged bronze wheels
As a business owner I always factor in entry cost, maintenance costs, and long-term costs when making a purchase. The one thing you left out in this comparison is the Land Cruiser only requires regular unleaded while the LX 570 requires premium fuel. I have no idea why since there is practically zero performance boost, but when comparing 100,000 miles that's $12,000-14,000 in fuel costs compared to the LC, and the fact that the Lexus name is on the 570, means you are paying an additional 20-30% in parts costs.
As you said all of the parts numbers were cross referenced and are the same. Almost everyone on the LX forums have switched over to regular with no discernible difference.
There is another important difference. From 2018 Lexus offers two raw seats option, providing by this significant extra space. Land Cruiser offers 3 raw seats only, except 2020 Heritage edition, which price tag for some reason much higher than regular three raw seats model and even higher than two raw Lexus.

That's the base model for looks land cruiser here in the Middle East the land cruiser has an optional bumper which makes it lower than the Lexus and gives it wheels which makes it look 10 times better and the interior is way different

I don't like the Lexus styling and the Toyota has that model name cache with a long history. Great job guys! :D
Land Cruiser is all about pure performance & durability but Lexus is more of comfort/Luxury. My vote goes for Land Cruiser.
Respect
Lx 570 best
Everything is amazing except the fuel economy...can't wait till the hybrid versions come out.
That would be an ultimate vehicle
F yeahhh
You think that hybrid is sweet until you learn they don't last as long and when that battery dies, you have to sell your ass to get it fixed. Usually people just junk the cars it's that expensive.
Land cruiser is father of all suv
Land Cruiser
Means let's go anytime anywhere
Lovely motors
I would go with lexus because it looks more modern but i love both
You two do the BEST car reviews....concise, informative & easy to understand...with a touch of brotherly humor! The lack of blathering is a plus! Some channels have too much chit chat to be able to extract the important information quickly.
Thanks for the kind words! We hope you have a great 2020! 😁
I love how old school Toyota is, that is why they are so reliable compared to everyone else.
DSTY True facts
You can stick with your 2007 ass outdated plastic interior but the rest of us? We will look elsewhere
Y lol.
@Y interiors didn’t look like that in 07, stop it.
Exactly they should focus on the interiors and the infotainment systems.
First time off a real road the bumper / grill on the Lexus is toast, you yanks really are Magpies, shiny things attract birds of a feather! Real world vs Luxury mall crawler look at me!
Its basically comparing Navigator vs Expedition.
Tahoe vs Escalade 🤦🏻♂️
@E Double nah
im a lexus fanboy but id rather have a landcruiser over an LX
Dealbreaker for me is that land cruiser has KDSS rather than adaptive suspension, I’d much rather have KDSS.
would be nice if you explain the "why" behind some of the differences, such as towing. the adjustable/luxury suspension of the Lexus is the reason for the difference in towing. the same is true for the Sequoia TRD, which has a similar towing max due to the tuned suspension.
Love the split tail gate design. It’s like LR4 I wish land cruiser make better engine and not having people spend most weekend fixing or going to the shop 😂
Lexus IS just the luxury version on Toyota. Meant for the US market
Hey we appreciate that a lot! Glad you enjoyed the video and hope you have a wonderful New Year! 🥳
My landcruiser also feels powerful for its size. Love it.
LX is quieter. LX can lower and raise suspension, if you have a senior trying to get in, very helpful. Also if you are towing it will self level which is a great feature.
I love toyota...is best suv in world
There are better SUV than that

The lexus is sleek!!! I prefer the lexus anytime any day
Well-done video. Thank you for doing such a thorough job.
We appreciate that!
These are the same damn cars. One has a Lexus badge and an ugly grill the other is more reasonably priced and not hideous.
Man I wish Lexus would make a Sequoia alternative. Unfortunately, they don't have any gaps in their pricing for it so the customers would have to decide based on preference. The LX is unbeatable from a dependability standpoint, but the Sequoia is a more sensible styled big family hauler.
LANDCRUISER. NOW AND ALWAYS!!
Great review, the LX is my absolute dream car, I love that giant slab of wood on the dash!!!!😍😍😍
Thanks! 😊
Jonathan Losito I’m happy because it should make it depreciate like Mo Fo!!!😂😂
Landcruiser all day every day over the lx ... the lx doesn’t hold its value like the cruiser does
The only real differences between the two are that A) the LX has more tech, and tech gets outdated, and B) The LX requires more tweaks in order to make it off-road capable, due to the bumpers.
The 2 are almost identical, they of course share the same parts
Best comparison side by side I have ever seen ..thank you
This comparison would remind me of another one. How about the Aviator vs Explorer? Happy New Year btw!
Good idea! And Happy New year to you also!
Matt Gaskins The adjustable lift suspension on the LX becomes a huge liability as the vehicles get older.
I went through both parts lists for the engine and fuel management systems and they are the same. If the LC can take regular so can the LX.
Great video, I was really curious about the trunk/boot comparison and 2nd row space
Why an electronic parking break earns a point like it's something to miss out on is WILD
The LX is much more heavier than the LC and from my experience the LC is faster than the LX.
Der the LC is lighter and weighs more but also costs more... it me a performance car as well as luxury
Toyota land cruiser 200 v8 is POWER💪💪👍👍💕
I’ll take the LX! Love that car.
I love the king of the road Land Cruiser, but im drooling over Lexus aggresive looks and more premium interior
There is another important difference. From 2018 Lexus offers two raw seats option, providing by this significant extra space. Land Cruiser offers 3 raw seats only, except 2020 Heritage edition, which price tag for some reason much higher than regular three raw seats model and even higher than two raw Lexus.
Great review gentlemen.
Happy New year!

Landcruiser is the king of SUVs
Land cruiser for me all day long.
That's the base model for looks land cruiser here in the Middle East the land cruiser has an optional bumper which makes it lower than the Lexus and gives it wheels which makes it look 10 times better and the interior is way different
Land cruiser it's the best forever
The land cruiser all the way,i prefer it to all brands
LX IS THE SAME THING
Very good visual comparison of both SUVs.
Great review loved it
lx actually won the challenge
dont forgot that the lc had a 6 points lead
the lx won as it scored 8.5 from 0 points
while the lc 8.5 from 6 points
