  • Yet another escapade on updating my F150, which despite being a year and a half old still has limited information online about things like this. So here's the way I did it. Pretty easy. You'll need a 15mm socket, a breaker bar, a socket extension, and preferably an impact wrench.
    Comment with any questions and I'll do my best to answer!

    Had seen another video it shows you remove the front bolt and just loosen the rear bolt then slide the tow hook back and down. This way the rear bolt stays put and should have less fishing to do with the nuts up in the frame.

      @@CallofCain I'll totally do that, but might not be for a while. Wish I made some money on RUclips I could put towards that stuff😅

    Hi there, do you know the bolt spacing? I’d like to do this to a custom build and not sure it’ll work,
    Thanks

    What kind of wheels do you have on your f150? They’re badass

      @@CameronKelson is that the +1 offset? And also what size tires are those? I have what looks like the exact same spec as your truck and have had those wheels in my cart for a year now but now sure what size tire I want to go with but I like the poke on yours

      @@CameronKelson Awesome, thanks so much for the fast response. Do yo happen to know the width and or actual tire size? (I'm guessing 305/55r20) And also did you have to do any trimming or messing with the crash bars?

    What shackle kit did you go with? I was looking at the Rough Country set but they keep telling me it only fits 2015-2020.

    But why? How is that better than the tow hooks?

    • @CameronKelson
      @CameronKelson  Год назад +2

      A shackle you can open up to put a chain or tow rope on then close it again to lock it in place. With tow hooks you need an extra hook on your chain or strap, and even then it can fall out pretty easily.

    What! Why in the world would you want to what is the difference other then looks. Those loose shackles look lstupid to the design of the front of this vehicle. Nuta

      If you'd ever done any amount of offroading you would know that shackles allow for quick connection of snatch straps to help with recovery if you or someone else gets stuck.

      @@CameronKelson couldn't you just use soft shackles or even d rings on the tow rings?
