As someone who lost their mother without warning about a year ago, this song has been a source of enormous catharsis for me ever since it came out. I remember reading somewhere that the lyrics were "while everyone on the moon", and was frustrated because I was CERTAIN it was "on the move", which...fit my feelings about how the rest of my family's been grieving her. It feels like they're more eager to forget her, and avoid the pain of remembering, than to honor her memory no matter how badly it hurts to remind ourselves that she's not here anymore. When I read that I'd been right, it was...cathartic in its own way. Thank you, my favorite modern band, for putting this up.

If you looked up this artists name you'd find out immediately she sings mostly in an African language. Specifically Bambara. From there you just jad to wait for official lyrics to come out. Everyone who was saying it was English and denied the people who said it was an african language was fucking stupid. People like who just didn't know are find, but you should have tried harder.

I just find it amazing how Damon sang the word "contraband" twice but pronounced it differently from each other to rhyme with its following line and neither sounded awkward. Idk i just like the thought of it, it's creative especially the second time when he said it with french accent. I love it, we need more of 2D speaking french it suits him so well 😭💓

It was pretty obvious that some lyrics weren't in english.

I do kinda wish that the actual official version of this song had the music videos extended ending. The fact that it cuts all vocals off abruptly and then the back track comes back slightly softer always gives me chills when I watch it.
Still probably my favorite song on the album, but the video will always have a special place in my 2020 shaped heart.
(Sidenote, the video also introduced me to the concept of Lake Como x Cosmic Horror-esc giant monsters and I never want to go back to real life)
I first got into Cosmic Horror when I learned Plastic Beach was over Point Nemo where the Sunken City of R'yleh is. Soo... Sleeping Cthulhu must have been a fan since we haven't seen him yet.

This is a very nice visual - to suddenly see the oranges and reds streak across the sky with distant, layered violet and cotton candy-coloured clouds on the horizon. It's a comfortable temperature, you can hear the wind gently rustle nearby leaves and the sound of the plane's jet throughout where you are, you have nowhere to be and no obligations to look forward to. You just are, with your music and preferably with someone you love.
I'm high and was feeling pretty anxious, but coupled with this song as well as this visual is calming in itself, so thank you.

Oh boy, there are a LOT of errors to unpack in this sentence alone, but to keep it short, it should be "Tous mes fantômes sont bleus".
Ya it's pretty clear that the producers don't actually speak French. The only person who properly pronounces "désolé" in the whole song is the Malian woman. It's kinda annoying.
A song is not a grammar class. You can write whatever words you like in whatever order. Its a song!

This literally sounds different than the initial video. Right at the beginning 2D says "contraband" and you can hear it saying "band." But if you go look at the initial video release, he is explicitly doing a "bon" (like that "aw" noise in "dawn") noise. So literally right off the bat the audio is different.
