I love how the video and the lyrics go hand in hand. Its Childish Gambino claiming that it all never changes. You see all these other rappers and singers going through all type of drama while hes quite literally walking past all of it, hearing music in his own little world, just walking away from it all. The faded out background part highlights people who tried to change the world, people who left the game & people with pain in the game. The game being the current world of Hip Hop, At the end of the video it feels like he is leaving the game himself. Which is kinda true because this will be his last album.
A lot of people are assuming that just because he puts a lot of singers/rappers that he admires in the video that thats what the vid is about, but that isn't entirely the case, Both the lyrics and the video are about the current state of hip hop/the world, the drama, and how things just never change..
