Nice to see how it works, I’m 25 and I’ve just discovered scca time trials and I really want to get into it.

As soon as my car is ready I definitely want to get it to a track. Here's a question. Is the only thing they receive is a trophy?

Sometimes there is money involved but that is at much higher levels of racing

Getting into any type of racing is more about spending than getting anything back pretty much but it can be a lot of fun

    SCCA allows beginners to participate?

When the car cuts off at 6,000 rpms in second gear, are you going straight or during a turn?
Cutting out at 6,000 rpms, sounds like vtec isn’t engaging at that specific moment. Are you in a turn? How is the oil pressure at that exact moment?
Earlier you mentioned how you keep an eye out on your oil level and you top it off up to the second mark. That would mean that while driving and burning oil as h22s like to do, you’re under this mark, and if your 6,000 rpms at 2nd gear happens to be in a turn, maybe you have temporary low oil pressure?
Personally since my car also burns oil I top it off half up to half a quart above the second mark. And I always keep it between this level and the second mark. I know I’m not the only person to do this with Hondas either.
I don’t know just some food for thought.
Other culprit could be your engine temp running a bit cooler than operating temp.

Yea man, it's definitely oil starvation, needs to be at or slightly above the high mark on the dipstick

    You don’t heel/toe? Top vid

Definitely do, you have to otherwise you upset the weight transfer of the car, and wear out the clutch fairly quickly

Nasa guy here, we get lots of track time with instructors before we are cleared to open passing time trials. Did nobody teach you not to shuffle steer? Just curious as I thought SCCA was more strict.

My shuffle steering was due to improperly tight restraints. I've had hundreds of track days under my belt, just fyi
