Looking forwards to getting mine up and running - not sure which batch it's due with - meantime still playing with Pocket NC

Curious to know what and which compressor you have as your blower - with my pocket I currently pause and clean but the items are so small the chipping is tiny - I plan of much larger items with the Air

I use a Hyundai 9L “silent” compressor. It is not silent but it is considerably quieter than any other compressor I have used. The other option is an airbrush compressor. Also depending on the project you can use the dust shoe / vacuum instead.

@@techydiy - thanks - I'd seen of the FB group you'd used the Hyundai - strong hint to my wife for my next birthday or the welder plasma cutter!!

Interesting video and machine. It looks like the auto bed levelling could allow you to confidently reduce the height tools are retracted between cuts - to significantly reduce the time for running the machining operation. Thanks for the video.

Yes, it will be quicker once they release Makeracam, flatcam produces some very basic gcode.

Hello my friend, do you believe carvera air is better than stepcraft d.420? thank you!

I can’t answer that as It depends on what you are trying to do with the machine.

Thanks from me also, this will be helpful, expecting my Carvera next year. Did you try out the Carvera CAM software.

Yes, the Makeracam is still in beta and it had a problem that prevented me from using it for the pcb, hence the reason that I used flatcam. They have now fixed the problem and it is much easier to use than flatcam. It should be released soon with 3d carving and 4th axis support also.

Hmm if I have to do 1 PCB every 3-6 months this workflow is too complicated. I wouldn’t able to remember everything.
Ordering a PCB is much easier. Only downside you have to wait a week.
Maybe it’s good (worth it) to do one prototype to spot issues before ordering a bigger batch.

Makeracam is good and will make the process less complex.

I make my own PCB's with home built CNC machine & would never bother with double sided boards or solder mask, or pretty coloured paint, what a waste of time it would be. I just buy a pack of tining solution to tin the copper board & the CNC makes my boards in less than 1 hour, I reverse the process by drilling the holes 1st then make the tracks, as found the drill can snap on burrs left by the track cutter. I also purchased some exspensive 45 degree 4 flute v-groove cutters from Amazon.USA, much better than the offset v-groove cutter TechDIY used, you can hear the vibration from here. The 4-Flute V-groove cutters I have are semetrical & can do ever so small gaps between tracks perfectly.

Tinning solution and solder mask have different purposes. I have had this machine cutting 1mil tracks, invisible without a microscope basically.

@@techydiy When I make my PCB's I set my track width to 1.25mm, I am not knocking the machine, but to many people waste their time with (oh so perfect boards), just to make them look good on the internet. I would not buy one myself, as I prefer my Adrino offline controller system, Although I use FlatCam & Candle to make the gerber code then delete the "stops the adrino" codes. Never fails me unless I made a mistake.

Great for learning, but fully inefficient compared to services like JLCPCB. I also had to smile while watching you apply the solder mask. Even coats don't seem to be that easy to make 😉

I made three pcb revisions in a couple of hours, so it has advantages. I use PCBWay for anything complex. I probably had the best results with solder mask when I just rolled it rather than use polyethylene sheet.
