The majority of pickups recently put through the passenger-side small overlap front test struggled to maintain their structure, but two trucks - the 2019-2020 Ford F-150 and the 2019-2020 Nissan Titan - earn a good rating.

I hate when people say things like, “what a waste...” but fail to realize that they do these tests for our safety.
Mauricio Marroquin They do these tests to comply with Federal mandates, which cause the cost of a new vehicle to be out of reach to people unless they sell their futures to the money lenders. Because these vehicles help people to live, even to not get hurt at all in some cases, idiot drivers act like they are in a NASCAR race most of the time. These idiot drivers are an ever-present menace amongst us.

@Lord ballsac the 2nd Simulations can fail and are not exacting enough to predict the exact action, forces, and manipulations that may occur to a vehicle and its riders. Computer modeling would also require dozens and maybe even hundreds of test per vehicle model to get significant enough data to get *close* to a correct model, and that data would have to all be recollected when a new vehicle model is released or revised.
I started a channel where i take trucks off road and break em. Try and make a few people laugh
Lord ballsac the 2nd
I’m not sure if you’re in the same industry as I am (R&D engineer for a major vehicle manufacturer), but computer simulation will not replace physical testing due to the fact that, if we’re gonna make the actual product anyways, you might as well test the product physically.
Also that testing solely through computers is (ironically) significantly more expensive than running it through crash tests (as of right now). Besides... we’ve already simulated assemblies using typical CAD/FEA software (my company mostly uses Solidworks and CATIA).
In the end, crashing the vehicle is testing that our math was right.
Only time where it’s cheaper to model than to test would be in my sister-company’s aerospace industry.

The Ford's reinforcement at the firewall is impressive. It crumpled up until the passenger cabin and then deflected because it was so rigid. That is the gold standard right there.
Did a great job, but honestly I think the Ram did the best at absorbing the impact, as the cabin was nearly untouched !
As an Asian men, that why I choose Ford, just because I am an engineering

exactly
@@RubyXIII beacuse the passengers head was going into the airbag hard and caused the airbag to deploy or the dummy slipped the airbag
I wouldn’t even consider it a truck.
and ram looked like the dummy ate the dash too 4:58
Because unlike others that were qualified as marginal or poor, the Ridgeline's structure absorbed and handled the energy pretty well, the cabin's shape was not compromised, which is an important aspect of crash test califications, as no deformation means no people crushing. The passenger's airbag was a complete failure in that particular test though, hence why it is considered acceptable

1/11/17 I was driving my 2014 F150 and the road turned to ice. Another driver lost control and slid across my lane. I was doing about 45 when the road conditions went to shit really fast. I hit the other truck nearly exactly as in this test. Have to say Ford does know what they are doing. I wound up with some separated ribs and a scrape on my left shin. The passenger compartment was not intruded upon, all doors still opened and closed, though the cabin at the firewall was bent. If I had a passenger, they would have walked away pretty much the same, sore ribs from the seat belt. I hit at 45 MPH, it was wet ice, no traction period. It was strange, drove 55 miles in the same weather and not a single patch of ice, crossed a tree line, all ice, with rain misting it. It was just this one little section of road too, all roads leading up to it were ice free. Needless to say it was a total loss as the frame bore the brunt of the impact and looked like a Rorschach .

I had a bunch of lights not working due to a blown fuse. My speakers don't work. My high beams are nonfunctional. My Indicators quit working. My speedometer and tachometer don't work either. The grounds are rusty or burnt, so the left headlight is dim. The horn also doesn't work, and I've had multiple interior parts fall off/apart. (Door handle, shift lever, window regulator handle, window trim)
There's also ginormous holes caused by rust.
Essentially, both vehicles have problems. Even if you take care of them, eventually something's bound to break. It seems like Ford issues are more drivetrain and accessory-wise. Whereas Chevy has more electrical and rust problems. I did have to replace the engine in the Chevy when I got it, because the other one was shot, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt, and saying that was the previous owner's fault, as was most of these issues.
I will admit for possibly disabling the horn on the Chevy. The lug nuts on the Ford where cheap ones from the previous owner. I had gotten OEM replacement wheels, and the lugs stripped right through them.
So yeah.
F-150: HONK
AYEEEE THAT WAS EPIC
Amazing 👍👍👍
F-150. Best truck on the road. Great information.
🤣🤦♂️
It sure is the best truck on the road, for only 100k miles. I see GM vehicles on the side of the road more than any other vehicle due to breaking down.
Master Troll Gaming HD my rams never left me on the side of the road like my POS f150 did!
Best truck on the road until it fail the behind test do to breaking down and the interior coming apart as if it was a completed puzzle not glued together
Both the Tundra and Frontier are 10+ year old chassis. It’s time for some newer and stronger platforms.
I think you right... much work is needed to bring the safety level up for the the Manufactures.
Starting the backbone..The Frame
F-150 KING OF TRUCKS even if you put a moose bumper on the Tundra it’s already a lot safer
@@timmyteabag69 get kid you can put a tree on it and still will crumple like a acordian..lol
F-150 KING OF TRUCKS we’ll drop a tree on any truck and it will, I chose a tundra cause I was stick of all the issues with my ford and I had Chevy before the ford
Good Drills. Among Everyone Who Tested I Feel Safer The F-150
Que bueno ver estas pruebas para saber qué clase de maquina está adquiriendo.
the Nissan has a V8, it says so on the flying engine cover
But you know it ain't a HEMEH
RAM’s isn’t a Hemi either.
It’s a highly modified Hemi-ish engine with a second spark plug so that ancient design will pass emissions. It’s designed to tickle the emotions of Baby Boomers who don’t know it’s as thoroughly obsolete as the flathead design.
Just think if the NHRA abandoned its stupid rules and let wedge head or petaroof engines in... Top Fuel dragsters would have to do 700 foot passes to stay safe.
@@Bartonovich52 someone's not getting enough coochie
I’ve had fords all my life and that’s not about to change anytime soon. I have a 2016 fusion rounding 167k miles and 96 bronco with 201k miles and A 2013 f150 235k miles all 3 run great and have only had the asentals replaced. Tires/battery/fluids. Great vehicles never let me down.
Good.
Okay larp
And that's why ford is Americas number one selling truck!!!
No the reason is because they have fans that keep rebuying their models because their "reliable"when they literally are contradicting themselfs just by buying another ford
What I find satisfying
Makes me want to drive extra safe. Awesome video.
stop crying about the aluminum f150 ITS SAFE!
The IIHS said that the Ford F-150 provided the best protection for front passengers in this test.
Watch the next chevy commercial say oh we have won the top safety pick award no i dont think chevy ford has won pretty much all of then steel may hold up more in towing but aluminum is better in wrecks
thats old news...lol..
No is crying about it, the F150 only gained market share after their aluminum truck came out.
@@gpaje lmfao..the f-150 has been the king for 53 years in a row ..
That song would excellent with some ACID
I cannot wait for them to test the cybertruck.
This makes me happy to own an F150.
Ford has always been slow for technology but #1 in safety features
Slow in tech? How? They’ve had the best and most up to date engines for years. Chevy and dodge haven’t been able to compare even with nearly twice the displacement in some cases for their engines
The F-150 definitely fared the best out of all the trucks in this test.
The Tundra's crash test really exposed a major weakness of that truck.
It means that Toyota needs to hurry up and redesign it already, its been like 13yrs with the same model.
That tundra didn't displace the impact very well. Wowzers
