      +TheFrogman RC My 05 ram 1500 with the 4.7l V8 has been a great truck for me, all ive done is changed oil and tires. She starts right up even on the coldest Wisconsin winter mornings and I have no complaints about it, shes been a good truck to me

    • @jaymoe5.7
      @jaymoe5.7 7 лет назад +13

      ***** Actually ive had a lot of luck with Rams believe it or not, Ive had a 98 for 8 years, an 05 for 6 and an 07 for 9 years, i still have the 05 and 07 btw. And those trucks were all good trucks, the 07 ive done regular matinence and thats it, and the 98 i replaced the 02 sensor and rear end seal thats really it, and thats why ill keep buying Rams, because ive had the best luck with those out of anything else

    • @jaymoe5.7
      @jaymoe5.7 7 лет назад +2

      +TheFrogman RC No my neighbor bought a 08 Tundra and he hated it, Within the first 2 months he had to replace the struts, then he had to replace the front left shock, then a little while after that he had all the sensors start failing and had to have 4 or 5 replaced, then the gastank started leaking and he fixed that, then the brake lines corroded and the drivers window fell off the track. He had so many problems with it he eventually sold it and now he has a 2015 Silverado which he does like, I just stay away from yotas because of that, and to be fair he drove it daily but he wasnt even hard on it at all, it just fell apart.

    I thought the F-150 would be the worst due to the aluminum body, but I was positively surprised. being an owner of one I'm glad it's pretty good

    • @TheMarcusGomez
      @TheMarcusGomez 7 лет назад +20

      Emanuel Alvarez aluminum probably helps it in a sense that you don't have the weight of a steel bed/etc to slow down.

      They used the weight savings from the aluminum body to beef up the frame. That along with the crumple zones makes all the difference.

    • @nathanmcdonald610
      @nathanmcdonald610 6 лет назад +25

      A common misconception that people have is that the sheet metal ''body panels'' of a car have anything to do with how safe said, vehicle really is. That's why a lot of people say they feel safer in older cars from the 1950's or 1960's, because the body panels were made from very thick steel. The reality though, is that modern cars are MUCH MUCH safer than older cars because of things like collapsible steering columns, airbags, crumple zones and various other safety measures. The type of metal it's made out of has almost nothing to do with how safe it is. It's just a false psychological comfort.

    I work with a couple of guys who hate Ford. One drives a 2016 Dodge Ram extended cab, one a Toyota Tundra and another a Dodge Durango. The last one a Mazda car. All of them hate Ford trucks. I really have no idea the reliability of the Ram and Tundra. But after seeing this I rather drive a Ford. One day I drove my hubby's 2016 F150 to work and all were literally salivating at it lol!

      NikonChic 954 Toyota makes the most reliable cars in the world. If you want your truck to last you forever get a Tacoma or tundra. But I will say that Ford makes relatively good and reliable trucks tho. I would never trust anything from GM or Fiat anymore tho.

      Nolan Holmberg I’ve had 5 newChevy 1500 4x4s since 1992. Traded the first 3 in at between 250,000 and 280,000 miles and just recently traded my 2012 in at 190,000 miles for current 2018. I’m always busy and use my truck every day Weather it’s because I’m busy or just don’t want to bother with it. I never get any service done other than brakes and oil With those 4 trucks and over a million miles driven the only one that ever went in the shop was the 99 to get a 4wheel drive actuater replaced. That’s ALL!! I mean original everything in every truck when traded and all were still perfect mechanically I don’t know how much more dependable you can get. And I know you Ford and dodge guys will get in here and cry bullshit. But all I can do is tell the truth

  • @SaskTransfer
    @SaskTransfer 7 лет назад +18

    In my opinion based on the after math of each crash from watching this video from 1 to 4, this is how it went:
    Ford- body absorbed a ton of impact and overall held together the best. Only problem I had was the excessive amount of plastic/tin exploding off of the truck
    Chevy- did rather well, did notice some major cab/box whip which is somewhat unsettling.
    Toyota- took the entire collision in a heap, not impressed with the results, the driver side frame squished in really badly, would not buy this truck.
    Dodge- Not much good about this test of the Dodge. It has a very nice austetic appeal, but that won't do you any good when you get crushed like a pop can in a head on collision. Dodge is a very big name in the auto industry and seeing the body and frame totally giving way is not something Dodge Ram will want on their resume.
    I made sure to leave out any byasis because it makes no sense to try and lie about something that is literally in video evidence.
    (Now to face mass hate?)

    @JimmyDevere 7 лет назад +3

    Wow! Night/day difference with the Ford 2015/2016. Says a lot about Toyota quality since this is essentially a 2007 design and still did well. Keep in mind all IHST ratings are based on equal size (if you read the fine print) and the heavier, bigger, taller vehicle has the advantage, generally speaking, so all these trucks are safer than a sub-compact POS.

Gas is very expensive these days and if I crashed my truck I would salvage the gas. The last thing I need is the possibility of losing all that gas because of a flimsy fuel door

    FLY YOU FOOL!
    The sad thing is they only test these at 40mph. So what's "marginal" at 40mph is probably fatal at 80mph.
    Plus, Prius and Subaru is safer than all of these 6,000lb rolling piles of metal.
    If you're buying it because you simply want a pickup, that's fine. But I've known so many people that buy big suburbans and crew cabs to keep their family safe, when they're actually endangering them.
    Irony

    • @artmustang6579
      @artmustang6579 8 лет назад +13

      No buddy. First body structure has nothing to do with safety. Howeber, remember the objects they are hitting are dead weight, and have no movement. Damage is less when hitting a moving object. Also, just to let you know... Safety matters are chassis and interior safety/movement. You can crush the front end of your truck how badly you want... But the chassis most get damaged in order to call it a "no safe car" Plus these new trucks are aluminum body. Obviously they'll take abuse to a steel standstill wall. You get a prius and I'll pick any of these trucks and you'll be flying 100 feet away, rolling around in that plastic Japanese garbage.

      But say your in your prius and you get T boned by a truck going 60mph, your in pretty bad shape or possibly dead because 6000 pounds is slamming into your side driving 60mph while your 3600 pound car is thrown off the road like a toy. But say it was vice versa, your 3600lb car T bones a truck going 60mph, the truck is going to move of course, but for your car its like hitting a brick wall

    • @artmustang6579
      @artmustang6579 8 лет назад +2

      +Jake Morris And I totally agree with you. Of course if a Prius hits you, you will feel it. Funny enough couple days ago I saw a 2003 Ford Expedition and a Tesla Model S collide. Let's just say the Tesla didn't make it. I got out of my car to help... I know we're talking Prius and trucks right here but it still relates in some ways. All I can say is although Japanese cars are one of the most reliable cars, but for safety matters forget it. I would love to crush a Prius all day long in a Ford F650. Yes, the huge one.
