Great video , test was done really well, no bias on your part that I could tell. I’ve ordered the injora motor a week ago, and wanted the metal gears for longevity/ strength, you’ve given me lots to think about , keep up the great work ! 👍

I think I might try the Injora Pro motor on my FMS - FCX24 & see if it has a little bit more torque than the FMS - Speed Motor I am running for crawling & trail cruising.
I always run the ESC in the "Crawler " mode so I have the instant reverse! You can't go with the Injora Pro motor it's awesome! Thanks for hanging out mate!
i cant wait for the snow to melt so i can find some rocks , do you have any experience with the roc hobby chyenne 6x6 ? , i bought one but find it hard if not impossible to find any hop up parts , cheers
To be fair, the wheel speed is no fault of the motor and has everything to do with the number of turns. The more turns equals less RPM's. Naturally the Injora is going to have more wheel speed because of less turns. It would have been nice to see two equal motors with the same turns go head to head. Both motors are getting great reviews. The Injora 55T is doing great as well.
@@skipmiller8309 Both motors are great, I know I wasn't comparing apples to apples however some people like videos that help them decide between apples and oranges! Thanks for your comment 👍
Yes, you wouldn't loose wheel speed in the rear but rather gain it in the front at the expense of low speed control. It's all a big trade off! And what works best for you depends on how you drive your rig and what you need it to do. I'm more into crawling rather than trailing so I focus my build around slow speed control. Thanks for hanging out!
Thanks mate! Listed as non waterproof on Injoras website however brushed motors typically don't have any issues running submerged in water! There is the little capacitor board on the back of the motor that may be subject to corrosion but a squirt of corrosion x would take care of that. I've not seen a water sealed brushed motor yet, they all let water inside! You need to dry them out and lube the bushings after a good puddle run!
@@havikhobbies yeah figured that would be the only thing that would be an issue , i used to hot glue around cheapo receivers to make them waterproof . Figure you could do the same here
Ive got an isdt70 esc on my 4m stock motor stock trans gearing and still on bushings. I picked up an immense amount wheel speed. Im feeling if i went with the injora pro and crawl gears it would be as fast as stock but bith much more low speed control. Not to mention the lack of fax machine noises
@@havikhobbies you should try that esc man it's pretty dang good and it comes with a Bluetooth module so you can find tune the driving characteristics. Relatively cheap as well
Sounds like a interesting build I'll keep an eye out for it. I may check out the isdt70 esc, it's looks good for the price. Kinda like hobbywing 1080. The next brushed esc I'll be reviewing is the Furitek Iguana Pro with Bluetooth.
It's been awhile since I've bothered with the stock gearing because I don't do any trailing. Both of these motors are faster than the stock 87t and have more torque regardless of the gearing. My opinion is these faster motors work best with the low range gears. For crawling I would choose the low gears and probably the Injora Pro. For trailing I would probably go with the low gears also, but opt for the MoFo Big Block! Although I wouldn't trail a Trx4m and would grab my FMS FCX24 due to the 2 speed transmission, but that's another story!
@@havikhobbies yeah I dont really "trail" them but do run on a lot of sand rocks that aren't really technical. Maybe il get the injora, with low trans gears and the helical overdrive gears for both axles.
@@havikhobbies Thanks. I have little guy racing tires on one my rigs wanted to try first but those look great on the bronco and seem to hook up well. Check them out if u have yet to do so.
All testing in this video is with the optional low range "crawl" gears. Both of these motors are faster than stock and really need the low gears if you intend to spend a lot of time at slow speed. The stock transmission ratio is good for trail and OK for light crawling IMO. Thanks for hanging out!
@@havikhobbiessweet, thanks man. Loved how detailed your analysis was. Got all the parts on the way! just gotta wait for TRX4M to restock in Aus and then we’re rockin & rollin
I saw Matt over at 2fmrc check those motors out fairly recently, they look like a great option! My Trx4m Bronco has the MoFoRC Torque Beast X 180 motor in it now and that's probably how it will stay for now! Thanks for watching and for the heads-up!
The net effects will be the same as a more pronounced overdrive of the front axle. If it's a negative or positive will depend on what you want out of the truck! I personally prefer a more subtle overdrive effect for general driving. You may prefer more depending on your terrain.
The Injora Pro for the TRX4M is a 48t 180 size motor (stock trx4m size). The 50t Pro for the SCX24 is a 050 size motor and is much smaller. These are not interchangeable, but I understand how it could be confusing because they are both "Pro" motors with purple stickers!
@@havikhobbies here is my situation for my dead bolt the case is closed i will fit the 50T as shown in your tests ...truly i was amazed how such small motor could produce so much torque! know for the real problem..i have a volantex atomic sx 1/24 the motor case measures is 30mm in lenght and about 20mm in width but on the manual it says its a 180a motor and that´s all i got ! it´s bigger than an original scx24 motor it seems to be the size of the 50T but never had one in my hands ...then i saw the new 180 pro and total confusion was installed ! i dont have motor measures and by eye they all seem about the same size!
Yeah the TRX4M is much larger and not directly compatible with SCX24. Not sure about the Volantix motor you mention? I've never encountered that motor before!
I've never fully submerged my Injora 180 motor, but I don't hesitate to run it in wet conditions like a rain, snow, mud etc. I interpret the IPX6 rating as "highly water resistant" but not fully water proof. I hope that helps? Sorry I couldn't be more definitive.
Do you think overdrive on the front axle instead of under drive rear axle would salvage a smidge more wheel speed while still giving you that pulling effect the different ratios offer.
Yes they have the 9% and 16% overdrive. The 16% is not very aggressive IMO. Yes leaving the rear axle ratio stock and overdrive in the front will net the same pulling from the front characteristics, however your essentially gearing UP instead of down so it will affect your slow speed control. You need to decide what is more important to you, speed or control! It's more challenging to have your cake and eat it too with brushed motors!
Is it real that the Injora Motor kills the stock ESC? My Defender still runs on the Titan 180 with Low Speed Gearing from Traxxas, it crawles very good so far. Greetings from Germany
I've never experienced any issues with the Injora Pro 48t with the stock Traxxas ESC, but like you I only run on the low or crawler gears. I suspect that users that have experienced issues are probably running stock or high speed gearing! I don't tend to push the truck very hard in a bind either which can be very hard on electronics as well. Thanks for watching mate!
@@havikhobbies its a high speed transmission so that might be why i got a 9.7:1 transmission i had to buy another trans because the screws stripped on the motor in the stock transmission but if i slowly let on then go to full speed it works so i think it may be drawing to much power, i am also turning my current trx4m into a rampart mt
The FMS -FCX24 has a similar problem when you install a lower turn motor, but it is the included battery that causes it to cut out. The lipo battery has a current limiter aka PCM inside the battery pack, replaced the battery with one that did not have PCM & fixed the problem.
@@DTW-bx2vy so I found out the problem with it is the monster truck tires I put on it yeah it doesn't like that so I had to switch back to the other Wheels that came with it
Yeah it does sound like that combination might be pushing the stock controller to the limit. Good thing about the trx4m is there is plenty of space for a 1/10 scale esc like a hobby wing 1080. And you could keep your stock transmitter by getting a Traxxas reciever.
Don't think I've tested a 44t yet. 44t vs 48t is difficult to compare because there's so many variables such as wire diameter and magnet strength that all effects the performance of the motor.
