    This guy is truly amazing. He was at the highest of the highest level and lost that explosive athleticism. Then he accepted it and transformed his body and entire style of play to stay at the highest level. That's some amazing growth and change. I'm happy he's still in the league.

      Word but you know he still cries sometimes when he thinks about the caliber player he was before injuries. The crazy thing is, his athleticism is what got him injury prone. Dunking a lot messed up your knees, even on that soft NBA court

He’s one of the main reasons people will coach players on how to land now to not have your knees take so much leverage and damage. Go watch old clips, he lands with his legs flat out, it was only a matter of time sadly.

Born and raised in rough Englewood, Chicago, he had his mom and brothers mentor, protect and steer him away from the streets.     Derrick Rose is a generational talent who ALMOST withered away like Tracy or Roy but he adapted like a rose growing out of a concrete jungle he still fought his way to survive in this new NBA. He’s been an inspiration to me since I was a kid, it’s sweet to see him still playing.

    Seeing Derrick Rose as a starter with more time on the court will be great. He changed his playing style to save his body damaged by so many injuries, but technically he is at a very high level, even better than many younger players in the league today. Derick deserved a better team and so he deserves to end his career with a title.

    I hope D-Rose plays very well for Memphis this season, but it's just kind of hard for me to understand why he didn't choose to join Boston as a free agent this past off-season since he said he wants to win. All I can conclude as a possibility of why he didn't join that team was the fact the Celtics were the 1st team to eliminate him and his Bulls team in his 1st playoff appearence during the 2009 playoffs, and he may have held a grudge against them ever since.

    hard to cheer for the Grizzlies as a Wolves fan but I love DRose and JJJ and honestly love Ja too. Just hope they can find success with and without Ja like they were last year.

    DR back at home where he played his college career can't wait to see him on the floor and just shine. Guy has most definitely earned spot on the Memphis Grizzlies and go for Championship, finally they got what they need as a VET to lead them in right direction. Happy for DR, hope he gets a ring before he retires.
