One thing to add is that if you keep all your materials in a station container, you need to select it as the location when building. The only reason I say this is I set up some station containers about 2 weeks ago, and this was a learning point for me. Not to difficult to figure out, but if you're not expecting it, then it can cause some minor frustration until you figure out the resolution
Great vid. The one thing I use that I don't think you mentioned is a container I usually name Sortation or similar. When I dock with a bunch of stuff I've just gathered, I dump it all into the Sortation container so I can divvy it up later and maybe go back out for more. I don't like making a ship active and finding that it's full of old loot.
very nice to see here that im not the only one who uses like a thousand station container to organize their items in eve, its definitely easier to look for stuff this way in my opinion.
Thanks Captain Benzie, you just saved me about another 10 Minutes of frustration of trying to figuring out how to get into and out of the containers. Because yeah I am now playing the storage mini game of how do I organize this mess. It took me longer in the other game that I play.. But a quick 4 months later of playing Eve and here I am.. LOL
Thanks for the good explanation. Already got three containers via a nice Catskull Industrialist (free of charge)❤. Organizing the storage is so much better now.
I also use small containers as a bookmark (as apposed to a 'location') Makes it easier to remember where you have things like ... say blue prints you are optimizing
So they're basically like a folders in a file manager except for the fact that you can't put one of them into other. Really nice thing to avoid a mess in your storage
I used to use tons of station containers in every "home" System I had. Problem is, I have a lot of "home" systems. On my main, I have my Null ratting home, Null Exploration home, HS Level 4 mission home, HS mining home, HS randoms bs/combat anom home, and a temporary Incursion home. That's a lot of station containers and not all of them are near trade hubs nor do they all require containers. Instead, I use only a couple station containers and use the filters available in-game to get the most out of each container. Why bother minimizing the station containers? Well, if you ever want to move to a new station... it takes 3 weeks from your last activity in a station container in order to break down an assembled container. You can't even trash it. Meaning 3 weeks that it's going to appear on your 'personal assets' tab whether it has stuff in it or not. 3 weeks that a system you no longer have any ties to sticks around in 'personal assets' making remembering where your whosiwhatsits is when you need it. if you haven't done one yet Benzie, please do a video on filters. That helped me more than station containers ever did.
After watching this, I immediately went and bought a bunch ... and then realised that in my excitement I had purchased them in the wrong system! Time to fit out my Tayra 😂
Personally I haven't been able to use Covert ops cloaking device yet. So any information about it would be nice. Also I think there's plenty information about the clocking modules so it would be good a video showing its use. Maybe showcasing it's use in different play styles like exploration, hauling, etc.
Thanks for this - pretty new and want some! I am a industrialist and as we speak I am on my way to buy a station Blueprint for 180K ISK. Yeah, Me! Can I build these in a friends Station for them? We are part of a corp. As the newbie - She kills 'em and I scoop 'em! Pays well! AND I am learning how the big boys and girls do it (she has been at it about 14 years!) I am a lucky man, Captain!
@@captainbenzie Thanks so much for the reply! Can you share your method (names) for your 01, 02 etc naming conventions? I am trying to set up a well defined "use this one" for that so we all understand and save time and nerves! Thanks again Captain, I really like your videos, such a great job of imparting knowledge and making it interesting at the same time... Cool stuff that.

I just separate into everything I think will need its own box. Usually: Ammo and Charges (including drones) Filaments Modules and Rigs Materials BPs Etc
Benzie, please make videos about wormholes in details. There are very little well produced and detailed videos about wormholes. I think it's a huge hidden part of EO. Also would be cool to know how to get intona WH group.
Just a heads up, if you want to sell something on the market you have to take it out of the container and place it in your item hangar. Unless I'm doing something wrong, in which case somebody please let me know haha
Note: if you fit a mod to your ship from one of yours containers, subsequent unfits will pull that mode back into the hangar, not in your "Mods" container.
Dammit Benzie! I blame YOU for getting me back into Eve Online! Do you have any idea how many drones I've left behind since I signed back up last week? 😜
Shoulda watched my Drones video!! 😂 Welcome to the real New Eden! 🚀☺️ Also, of you want 1m free skill points, there's a link in the description, and Catskull is recruiting if you fancy 😉
Station containers are great UNTILL your miles away from the station and need to give your alt something. cant contract an item in a container 😂 its either the full container or nadda
Doesn't really help when everything is stacked and it's still all in one place. Organisation MATTERS! That's like putting all your clothes on one shelf! Madness!!
@@captainbenzieInstead of having to click into a container and back again, click the left-most tiny icon just above the shown items. This is one less click and becomes second nature once you have it committed to muscle memory. Sort by is also useful for the way I manage my inventory.

I tend to use the basic hangar for that, but I get why you might have a separate one!
This video changed my life. I had no idea these existed. Thank you for posting.
Glad I could help!

Yup, agreed!! I'm only sad that I can't put containers in containers to further subdivide!!
@@captainbenzie i would love that as a feature, so i can classify my abyssal filaments even better, or just filaments in general

I use station warehouse containers. Containers are the best way to sort your stuff. Good video

Filters are cool but you can also just haul the container with everything in it.
I use various size standard containers, so I can sort things more distinctly and/or move things around when moving "base".
Great idea!

Exactly what I did the first time and ultimately why my alt has full hauler/transport skills now
