    Captain B, I'm pretty new to eve, about 4 months in, and I really enjoy exploring. I just skilled into a Buzzard. This video is FANTASTIC! It helped me make sense of all the fitting options and pro/cons of each. Your videos really help a new player manage the learning curve. Keep up the great work!

    I see a lot of people using and suggesting inertia stabs but no-one mentions that they increase your sig radius making it quicker for others to lock you and then scram you….I prefer the nano fibre internal structures for exploration (yes they reduce ehp but - as Benzie says forget tank it will never be enough to save you) as they improve agility without making you easier to lock by hunters.

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  9 месяцев назад +5

      Correct. To be fair, if you can hit a 2s align time, you can have the signature radius of a station and still be uncatchable. At 3s, even large it requires a perfect server tick lock.

    • @brianchristopher8843
      @brianchristopher8843 9 месяцев назад +2

      I usually use atleast one stab and one nano. The two together help a significant ammount with align time without blowing up the signature. I go for the Ole run away and scream technique when I'm in explo ships. If someone even has a chance to start locking you you have already screwed up.

  • @morkyork6675
    @morkyork6675 9 месяцев назад +10

    Very comprehensive exploration vid! One small extra tip I'd like to add for folks is to also train Spaceship Command to at least 4, all the way to 5 eventually. Gives you 2% agility per level which might not sound like much, but sometimes is just enough difference to get your align time an entire second faster depending on the build (i.e. An Astero build I have went from 2.02 to 1.98). Cheers!

    The "Perch" approach is something I don't usually make any use of. The time required to move from each can, back to the perch, onto the next can takes a bit of time. Moving within a site typically takes at most a MWD cycle (10 seconds) which allows you to cover a 25-30km distance in a Cheetah, which is less time then moving back and forth towards the perch.
    While Perch approach could indeed be safer, a lot of sites are fairly predictable for hunters to camp and they will see you arrive and start the hack. Hence for me (in my space) it is not valuable to use the Perch tactic and I'd rather use the MWD to travel within a site.
    Still interesting to hear other opinions.

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  9 месяцев назад +1

      MWD usage also makes it harder to warp off if someone does decloak during your transit. Those 10s between cans are when you're very vulnerable, and a perch (at align 3s) only takes about 12s to warp to and back.
      To me, that's 2s extra time per can to save your ship. I've had an Astero decloak as I'm warping off. Had I been subwarp, I'd have been dead.

  • @noqairev

    Quick question about the referal link. That only works on the first caracter u create on an account correct? Up untill now i have only ever used 1 caracter on my account so there would be no way to get the 1mil sp if i made a caracter on 1 of the 2 remaining slots correct.
    I was 1 of those that went, dude wtf where is the prop mod u gonna be stuck and getting to each can is gonna take forever. But ofc if u use a close perch to jump from to be able to warp directly to a can that wouldent matter. Exploration is easily the recommended activity i would suggest for a brand new player to start with and build up there wallet. Its also a very cheap and easy way to learn how to use wormholes to quickly move around in different areas of space and to use the D-scan to stay alive.

    • @captainbenzie

    • @captainbenzie

      So, you're best sticking to any site named "Central, Local, Regional, Ruined, Crumbling, Decaying" as these are sage sites. Avoid anything "Forgotten/Unsecured" as those are essentially combat sites with hackable containers.
      To do those, you need a combat capable vessel. I did show a Stratios that can hack one of the C5 Wormhole data sites.

    • @captainbenzie
      @captainbenzie  8 месяцев назад +1

      There are some fits, but honestly you'll likely find it better to use a cheaper frigate. They're faster, cheaper... The Gnosis in exploration is a niche ship, used for things like Sleeper Caches where the ability to tank some damage is useful.

    Speed tank it!! Nanofibers, inertia stabilizers and ons overdrive injector so you can GTFO when the sheet hits the fan. AND you can be moving very fast while scanning so that when you get probed out, the bad guy warps to where you WERE, not where you are now 😊noobs don't HAVE to die.
    I saw a guy in a class 3 unknown red giant system, last night, in a haron probing me out. Heron vs Imicus is a decent fight so I let him find me. But once he found me he switched to his Sabre and that's what he tried to warp to me in. I wasn't sitting still, I had the mwd on in my speed fit and he landed 60km from me. A speed tanked Imicus stands absolutely no chance vs an arty fit Sabre. A Sabre can't kill me from 60km, but just in case, I warped off laughing at him in local about how ridiculous he was to not come at me for a good fight in the heron. LOSER😂
