This a very informative video for a newbie like me.
I must say i saw really disappointed that most of the planes are coming from 70's. Like there was no new tech, no new materials, new engines.
The last one (DA62) showed what they should be, and if competition was any good, planes like that would cost much, much less.
Were these only planes made in USA? What about the rest of the world?

With your "cheapest" planes clocking in in the low 6 figures your video serves as a reminder that for many of us watching on the RUclips, the closest we'll ever get to a general aviation airplane is when we lay on the hoods of our rust buckets out at the end of the runway and watch y'all takeoff and land.

  • @andrewwatson9805

    You must be smoking something.
@1:57 "I'm covering airplanes you can get for $100,000 or less."
    1) C310R. Are you kidding me? An R model under $100K? $150K maybe.
    2) B55. You might get a B55 under $100K, but those are usually in very rough shape and nearly at TBO, so you'll probably end up spending a ton of money to get it into good enough shape to fly your family around, making it well over your $100K limit.
    3) Aztec, around $100K, likely at TBO. In your own words, budget between $300K-$400K. You need to share some of that stuff you're smoking.
    4) The Seneca: Yes. Around $100K with TBO engines.
    5) PA32 Cherokee Six: at $100K with TBO engine.
    6) Saratoga: "You can get a Saratoga in good condition for anything from $150K to $250K" Oh wow! $150K is less than $100K. Keep on smoking, bud.
    7) A36 Bonanza. You saw one at $150K, but usual price is between $200K and $350K. Again, less than $100K.
    8) C206 - available for less than $150K, likely with issues. Usual price is $250K to $300K.
    9) Piper M350 - early models $300K, usually between $400-K to $500K.
    10) Diamond DA62. @0:36 As 774892 said, "DA62 is a nice new twin, but the cost is too high to justify it." Have you and Beezyy been at that "copious amounts of cocaine" he was wanting to haul?

While these aircraft are great and interesting to look at and hear about, families that want “affordable airplane” videos are looking at prices at just 100k or less, i also dont believe for a family aircraft you will be needing more than 3 seats which is the average family size in the U.S if im not mistaken, also id love to see the addition of annual costs and maintenance costs associated with owning that particular airplane… other than that your vids are still very informative and interesting to watch!

Fasten your seat belts. A jet car that flies at 880 km per hour is being conceptualised that would fly you from new york to chicago in less than two hours - and it may use a highway as a runway to take off!
The concept vehicle, named GF7, is the brainchild of California-based engineers Greg Brown and Dave Fawcett from Airboss Aerospace - a design and engineering firm primarily dedicated to the aerospace industry.
To begin with, the jet-propelled car will carry four passengers.
It will have a highway cruising speed of up to 160 km per hour and a turbine engine with 3,500 pounds of thrust.
This means it will be able to fly to 38,000 feet and hit the speed of 880 km per hour.
"You can save jet fuel by using the electric motor to drive to the runway and start the turbine engine when you need it," Brown was quoted as saying in a Gizmag report.
"The turbine engine produces plenty of extra electrical capacity to charge the batteries," he added.

Let me say that DA-62 is not based on DA-50 (quite new, but the opposite, the 50 is based on the 62), but on its smaller version DA-42 (which i have flown and it's awsome), that comes from DA-40 and 20.
Low stall speeds, high manouverability, low consumptions with decent speed... yeah, Diamond aircrafts are something different.

It's a petty how expensive airplanes are both in sale price and in maintenance.
If there was a *cheap* ( 16 000 feet but for safety you don't want to just fly a few feet above the terrain, so 20 000 feet would be the absolute minimum for me, my father lost a friend here to just exactly that, flying over that pass with too little space to spare and than a little change in climate, a little miscalculation or a little drop in the engine performance can lead to desaster. And this second requirement makes it much more expensive. It means turbo charged engines and a pressure cabin. seems funny to me everytime I think about it, that my car has a higher (proven) service ceiling (with over 18 000 feet) than many general aviation airplanes. And it has no pressure cabin, I'm thinking about buying some oxygen bottles though, had some problem with a pessenger once (at around 16 000feet) and don't want to repeat that. So something like the Piper M350 but for a fourth of the price. Something like that...

Nice video, well done, but average people can NO WAY afford these airplanes. Even a common Cessna 172 would be hard to own for the average person. Over the years, general aviation has priced itself out of the market for the average person. I have owned 7 different airplanes(not all at the same time). They are hideously expensive to maintain. I finally gave it up. Today, I have no airplanes and my financial adviser says I might have enough money left in my retirement fund to last me the rest of my life... Maybe...
