I love how Super Sonic's strength is actually on full display in this game, compared to other games that treat it like simple invulnerability and flight. I mean, the guy stopped and kicked a sword hard enough to make the giant robot wielding it spin out of control.
He also does more than fly he creates chains and he fucking impaled a boss fucking made a bunch of spikes put them in the fucker and pinned it to the ground

I heard "Find Your Flame" long before I was even close to fighting Knight. As soon as I realized he had the song in his fight, I turned up the volume to MAX. It was a concert! I loved it. :)

I feel like this battle does a good job of highlighting just how tough this titan is compared to the other two, from Super Sonic having to use his full power to take it down, to him being physically exhausted after the battle.

I doubt he seriously had a struggle. He gets hit with the sword that slices the mech clean down the middle MULTIPLE times.

@@Prime_Legend nope, have in mind that those titans were powered by the chaos emeralds since their creation made from the first living beings but the smartest that ever step on earth, I doubt chaos control would really be something against them, and sonic himself say it after the first encounter with giganto “i will need the chaos emeralds and some luck” and tails say it to “even at super sonic that thins is…” so no, he wouldn’t hold back on such a situation

Zamn, the music is the absolute best part, every single boss theme feels like a final boss theme.
Edit: so, I was thinking about this for some time now, what exactly is knight? Like whyvern is a dragon, giganto is a humanoid, but when you look at knight is kind of strange, the closest thing I can think that resembles his look is "Life Virus" from the game "Mega Man Battle Network" and a bit of Medusa.
Hell, every single titan feels like a final boss.
Ironically enough I feel like the actual final boss themes feel the least like final boss themes, or maybe that’s just me.

I think Knight looks more similar to EVA Unit-05 from Evangelion. Which also had four wheel-tipped legs and a giant blade arm.
There's an overlooked detail that makes this fight even more awesome than it already is: The Knight's attitude towards Sonic, and how it changes throughout the fight. At the very start, it's toying with Sonic, just rolling around and slapping the ground at him. It's not scared, you're just a pest it wants to squash, but not too quickly. It's not taking Sonic seriously at all.
And then at the very end, it's fucking TERRIFIED of Sonic. Its final action is to hold its arms up to shield itself from its own sword.
A little bit like giganto and wyvern (specially wyvern)

Actually I don't think he's terrified of sonic.
I think he figured out he can't hurt super sonic but know he can Continuously knock him back and stall him out until his forms time limit hits which is why he keeps his guard up with his sword throughout the second phase and lets his shield do all the work rather than face him head on knowing he can't physically damage super sonic
I actually just noticed something interesting about Knight. Giganto is commanded by Sage to attack Sonic and only attacks him on his own when he goes Super. Wyvern is also commanded to attack by Sage, and he only attacks on his own when Sonic lands on him and rushes for the Emerald. Knight is the only one that always attacks Sonic on sight without Sage needing to tell him to do it. It could be a coincidence, and Sage could've told him to attack offscreen the first time, but I think it's because he realizes Sonic took down the last two Titans and is therefore a huge threat to The End's seal, so he's taking him extra seriously now.

That’s the only thing forces has over frontiers, the bosses were replayable, but who would want to replay the boss fights in that horrible game

It would have looked ever better if he actually held the sword. I mean he blocks the sword with his hands. Can push the sword away with his hands. Why can't he lift the sword with his hands? Had it been Silver, I wouldn't have issue with, but its not, and it looks sloppy with Sonic (not) holding the sword.

2:17, my favourite part, Knight has taken some serious damage from Super Sonic, but that doesn’t discourage it at all as it slaps him away with its sword, disorienting him with that strike.
I really hope this was intentional, because the way sonic rides on the knights shield is very reminiscent of the dream discus throw event from mario&sonic at the london 2012 olympic games. If it was intentional, then the devs are amazing
There's actually a gimmick in the Island for a few puzzles that controls exactly like the shield, and a few old sonic games had similar level gimmicks

Knight is defiantly my favorite Titan the boss fight is sick and Knight kinda reminds me of Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach it’s in all black,uses a sword and it’s skull face reminds me of Ichigo’s visord mask
This is absolutely one of those games where the boss fights alone make it incredible and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Can't wait for the DLC

I dont know if the devs did this on purpose and I havent seen it done in any playthrough yet, but when knight puts up his shield everyone usually spams it until you get the quick time event to toss it back at him. In my playthrough if you combo the shield once and then dodge sonic actually flies around the shield and you can continue hitting knight even with his shield up. It looks so seamless and smooth.
You can dodge Giganto’s Lazer too if you sidestep quick enough.

Listen, think about this for one second. If Sonic fought Perfect Chaos in his super form once and in the future, was able to fight Perfect Chaos without it, then doesn't that mean that one day, he'll be able to carry this sword in his base form?
I like how Super Sonic can barely wield that giant sword, but at 5:27 he thrusts it forward at like Mach 10
When sonic landed on the spinning shield roaming around with it, I instantly get reminded that spinning tops from sonic 3 exist.

The way the Knight draws its sword when Sonic goes Super has such "Okay, BRING IT ON" energy. Giganto came off like a berserker, Wyvern came off like a feral beast, but Knight? Knight reeked of being a noble warrior, determined to fight to the end. It has to know it can't win. But maybe, just maybe, it can prepare Sonic for what comes next.

Funny enough in my playthrough right as I had the blade pointed at him it started raining in game making it perfect.
Second favorite boss theme. Favorite ending to the fight. Totally Freezerd him. Trunks would be proud.
What I do notice about knight compared to the rest of the titans is that it barely shows any red colours (on the body I mean). The first two titans were taken control of by Sage which explains the red lining and supreme was still in control by end. Knight seems to have been the only titan that wasn't in control or such

Sonic frontiers should of added a feature in arcade mode where you could rechallenge the bosses I personally think that would be awesome and this game had some really fun bosses

These battles showed us how powerful Super Sonic really is, just look at him, he's the size of ant compared to the titans but he kicked their butts

I genuinely started tweaking out when I played this boss. Best fight in the entire series
My best friend came over and watched me play through this moment for the first time. I was SCREAMING the whole time
