Awesome Video Kev! How fast does the steaming recoup between steaming session? Do you have to wait in between steam to build pressure back up (would it work with back to back steaming?... like steaming 200ml milk every 45 sec to 1 min).
I love this machine, but I’m a little concerned about the longevity of the electronics. Especially above a hot and humid group head, not a good place for electronic circuitry. I’m sure Rocket have done a stellar job with testing and quality control, but after going through a couple of Sage/Breville’s over the years, I opted for an ‘Olde School’ type machine, from Rancillio, where serviceability is at the forefront. Do you have any thoughts on this? Great and informative video, as always.
The touch screen is in a ventilated space, on top of a solid group, so I can't see the placement of it being an issue for heat or moisture. They've designed this machine to be as serviceable as physically possible. Ta, Kev.
How about a video on is it advisable to leave your prosumer machine on all day or not. I love a coffee and drink quite alot , but is it worth me getting a machine if i can't leave it on. Looking at getting a Lelit Mara X V2 over a sage (wife ordered the oracle). Should i?
Hello! Thanks for your videos. I just purchased the Sage (Breville) Dual Boiler and it's amazing! But I have one question: the top lid (plastic cover) is TOO hot to touch after 5 minutes of use. You can easily burn your hand. The rest of the machine is fine. Have you noticed the same thing regarding the lid when you used the Dual Boiler? Thanks!
It should be hot, but not boiling. I've just fired mine up, after 15 mins I can rest my forearm on it for about 20-30 seconds, and it's uncomfortable but it's not not enough to burn. I'd recommend getting onto support.
@@Coffee_Kev Thanks. I Just made exact same test as you did and after 15 mins I can rest my forearm on the middle of the top cover and it's seems ok. But from the right side it's getting too hot. From the left side it's just little warm. Please let me know if you have the same. Thanks in advance and have a great weekend!
This or the Ascaso Baby T Plus, which is around £1000 cheaper, but also uses thermoblock tech for temp stability and has programmable shot buttons and preinfusion?
Dunno, I'd love to review the Ascaso machines, but I've never been able to get a response from Ascaso, I don't think they have official distributors in the UK, mainly grey importers. Ta, Kev.
This is one thing I'm really liking about the higher end of the market at the moment, it seems that the manufacturers are focusing more on doing their own thing rather than specifically aiming at capturing the markets of other machines, so it's giving more choice, more chance for people to find their perfect machine and less need to compromise. I'd say the closest comparisons are probably LMLM & VA Eagle 1 Prima, but neither of these three machines have exactly the same feature set or pros & cons etc. Ta, Kev
You can steam immediately after the shot on Decent, so the time gain is minimal and for home use completely negligible, on regular single boilers the big draw back is having to wait until the temperature reaches steam temp after brewing. At least Decent is trying to develop the technology, Rocket Bicocca is a step back I would say, that machine has no innovations whatsoever, pid and scheduled on and off, you can do that with a $10 smart plug, seriously who buys a machine like that for over $4000.
Oooh - looks pretty impressive! Got to say I'm not a fan of any electrical / digital arts - like good old fashioned steam, mechanics, and human creativity - but hell, our old Gaggia is falling apart!
I'm sad I didnt get in the top 10 to get one from Fuel Club on monthly installments :'( looks like a great machine, when In-Depth review for all the coffee nerds like us?
Probably the most underrated machine on the market, the Sage or Breville DB. I have two that were battered, very high usage machines that my espresso engineer friend reconditioned for me, one I have as stock, the other with the slayer mod, they cost me a few hundred quid each including fixing up, and they're both working brilliantly. They're way more serviceable than a lot of people think too, especially if you're handy or know someone who is. Ta, Kev
Here in aus where the cockroaches have flourished with the uptake of home espresso machines i wonder if they would appreciate the difference between an $8000 and a $550 machine. They just love those plastic tubes.
I've only ever heard of this with bean to cup machines, fully auto machines, where there are various opportunities to get in and lots of nooks and crannies in there for them to chill, around the waste coffee grounds container, hopper & so on. If you do find a cockroach near your coffee machine, see if you can train it to make coffee for you, I hear they're smart!
@Coffee_Kev I actually wanted to like the video, but after your joke against decaf, I find myself unable to do so 🤷 in the future, just don't discriminate against decaf coffee drinkers anymore and you'll get likes!😉🤷🤣
Hehe, I do regret my actions, and I ask for the forgiveness of all Decaf drinkers. 😆 Actually I drink decaf myself sometimes, but only this: bit.ly/3LewRy3
It wounds me that comment about it not being a real skill! I've spent so much time and energy learning and practicing. Not even getting into latte art. I want to find out how Ross' coffee tastes, because it's either extremely good because he's just that skilled or it's very very very bad.
This looks like a version of a classical dual boiler machine with heavy group head and portafilter. Electronic components added for control. Not something I would want.
One thing I forgot - heat up time from cold: 8 mins.
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I'm considering this over the Linea Mini for a coffee cart. Would it be able to do 150 cups/day no problem?
@@chaya973get it so we can see it in action 😊
Wow, the technological progress of the Italian espresso industry moves as fast as the continental plates!
My Bicocca arrives tomorrow.Your video has given me a good head start. Thanks for sharing
Dear I really interested can u make video about it like pre infusion and post infusion and work flow of the machine. And congrats i hope u enjoy.
I've been looking for a new coffee machine. This one looks amazing.
Great review 👏👏👏👏
glad I found your channel. looking to upgrade my home machine
Glad you have found my channel :-)
Fantastic review, Coffee from this machine would be divine :)
Looks incredible
All your video have helped me out so much thank you kev
Glad you found my post helpful Joe.
Cheers

Love your work Kev. Seriously considering one. Although torn between that at the R91. Hard to say which one is better...
If I were to do a 17g in, 25g out recipe, how much water do I set with the volumetrics?
Use a gram scale then auto learning feature in the machine bicocca
Usually 50 to 55 ml. Because every gram of espresso takes 2 ml of water. But not all coffees same.
Awesome Video Kev!

This is a common issue for electronic controls of cooktop ranges and ovens.
Amazing review!
Good in depth review
This looks amazing and something I'd like.
Me too, sadly it's gone back now 😢
Wow, this looks great!
Great review ☕️
Looks awesome.
My coffee machine has just died after 10 years of good service. The Rocket Bicocca looks fantastic and very quiet. Thanks for a great review
It's a great machine Philip!
What about the energy consumption? The ascaso baby t plus is a similar price point - what are your thoughts in comparison?
How long does it take to heat up from a cold start?
8 minutes. Ta, Kev.
great review
Thanks. How much time need to heat up and be ready ?
Yeah that's one thing I missed! 8 minute heat up time. Cheers, Kev
Very tempting for a coffee shop, I suppose.
Sounds awesome!

Haven't got a clue what you're on about Kev. But it's still ace mate 😂🤣
Me neither 😆
Does it have any lights?
No, with that group head u dont need lights

I wish more coffee machines would froth the milk for you - I have trouble doing it myself!
You can actually "Ghost" steam on most machines, this is what I'm doing at 6:58 see ruclips.net/video/3csoB6BU07A/видео.html
A great review,
How to settings close eco mode
I like it - but it does occupy a lot of space I think?
Who's it competitors? (LM GS3, ECM, Profitec, Victoria Arduino...?). Cheers ☕
VA and LM LM

@@Coffee_Kev i really like the bicocca but i dont like the wheel nobs. What do you think ?
@@mryoyo7741 yeah personal preference really but I would prefer joysticks or levers to rotary dials personally
Hmmm… the decent de1 models seem to offer more for less. Though they can’t brew and steam at the same time & are a very different style.
Yeah very different machine for a different user. Ta, Kev.

Im looking for a decent bean to cup machine. Im hoping to get some good advice here!
See: coffeeblog.co.uk/best-bean-to-cup-coffee-machines/ Ta, Kev.
Definitely interesting, but at the given price point I would opt for more innovative options.
Dang! If I hadn't just bought that $4000 bicycle.
Nice machine but I really need the fast heating function.
It's pretty fast for a machine like this, officially 8 minutes, so I'd say probably to be on the safe side 10-15 mins.
@@Coffee_Kev oh, that's really fast! Thanks for the update.

It wasn't limited to 10 on fuel club, it's still available, I think they're just waiting for the next delivery
The tank ist too small to fill both boilers? Weird. Meanwhile you get tiny machines with almost 3L water tanks
Yeah it is a smaller tank than I'd expect, but it's a rotary pump machine, it can be plumbed in, I'd imagine most people would plumb it in.
i wouldn't say no to that. but i am in Australia. so out of my price range. maybe when i get my super.
Fellow Aussie here. 8 grand ... ouch! I'll stick to my Breville dual boiler (with Slayer mod) thanks.
