      @@knottymatt I'm curious as to why you'd say that. The R91 has a saturated group head which the You doesn't fully confirm as having. Besides that, the You has way more tech and programmability - *but* if the only thing compared is the taste of the espresso then it seems that both machines should be able to achieve similar results after some practice and familiarity. Do you disagree?

    • @knottymatt
      @knottymatt 10 месяцев назад

      @sohailhines comes down to level of control as well as repeatability. Saturated groups are overrated, as long as you control temp effectively I'll take the greater shot parameters to nail my God shots any day of the week. That in addition to 5 minute max heat-up.

    Thanks, I am really torn between the both now. I have an R60V & thought the GS3 would be the next. I now swing to the Rocket, really like idea of doing an extraction manually then saving is to me such a good way. I find using the profile I preprogramme in the R60V a slow way to get the best out of my beans. Where the R91 you can watch the extraction then save, sounds good to me.

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters

      I like you had a R60V and could not decide beween R9/1 or GS3. I eventually went Rocket R9/1 and very happy, it is a big stepup from the R60v and produces consistently great coffee

  • @bacca71

    The GS3 is extremely easy to get into (sides, top and back), and panels replaced with always a good fit - designed to be that way. It looks more difficult to get into the Rocket (I had an early Giotto, and replacing panels so they didn't buzz was a bit of a trick), especially with the steam lever on the side panel. Would be nice to see the insides of that gear pump Rocket!

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters

      Yes you can customise the gs3 easy. Maybe we will pull the rocket apart and show you soon 🤙🏻

    IMO I think the GS3 has easier to read dials because, while they are smaller, they're angled towards the user, rather than being so low and not angled to the user on the R9. It's all preference of course! Really great comparison, it was extremely informative :)

  • @crissignori7482

    Both lovely machines and a great video. I'd say the only machines out there that look better than the R 9 1 are the Slayer and the Della Corte Mina. All of these are no doubt able to give truly outstanding results if the grinder and user are up to the task.

    The both look a bit fiddly over an E61 group head. The ECM Synchronika is cheaper, looks better and works great would love to see a comparison.

      @@crissignori74821000 times 😂 The Rocket is nice but the ECM is a much classier machine with a higher quality finish. I’ve had a look at both. Looks are subjective of course and I prefer the Synco and you prefer the rocket but I think you exaggerate a bit eh

    An interesting machine is the ECM puristika. Its espresso only and the water tank is located on the outside of the machine . Meaning no water tank inside the machine and maintenance is straight forward. Everything you need nothing you dont.

    I have a GS3 AV that’s 14 years old and although it makes a very tasty cup, I’ve had to repair it several times. Thinking about getting a new GS3 MP but the R91 is really comfortable for me to use with the arthritis in my hands. Would you keep the AV or get an R91 in these circumstances?

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  Год назад +2

      The r91 lever is certainly easier to move than the gs3. If you have a little time up your sleeve I would wait to see if LM release their straight in portafilter heads into the gs3. That would be a great option for your hands

Not saying they're full pro class but catering outfits and small parties could be the sweet spot for these since they're more muscular than your average double boiler like the Bianca and other machines without saturated groups.
