Looks like it's missing a lot of dampening.
One of my favorite Japanese superheros came back as a German villain in disguise 😢
John Davis needs to drive these cars and speak when driving them on video or none of this matters. :)
I remember when people drove cars. Now computers drive them, and the computer does the actual work.
nice job Toyota!! This is probably the first time i can remeber a car company actually giving enthusiasts what they want. They didnt have to but they did.
Dodge with the hellcat 6 manual really gave customers what they wanted! Horsepower and a stick!
❤❤John Davis & Toyota GR Supra MT ❤❤
I just wish they would bring back the iconic wing, the tall wings just made the 90's supras cooler.
No one does it like him.
THIS is the option I've been waiting for. In my mind, only NOW has the Toyota Supra finally returned.
It's a BMW Z4 you could service the car at a BMW dealership. Just because Toyota lazily slapped their badge on a competitor's product doesn't make it a Supra lol..
@@oldcrook510 You sound lame. You can have the service done at a Toyota dealership.
And Toyota wasnt "lazy" and "just slapped their badge on a competitors car" like that. It's a lot more to it(and Toyota was literally smart).
Plus the Z4 BMW(current generation G29) wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the Supra MK5
@@oldcrook510you can’t afford one anyways
How is it that only one turn signal works on this car? (Only legends will get it)
BMW owner joke?
Apparently, MotorWeek thinks we all have ADHD and "need" exciting background music to keep our limited attention.
Thank you for pointing out this car's dreadful fuel economy figures, which come from the EPA test where the car is driven carefully. Driven around the track in your video, the car was probably getting less than 10MPG.
My Supra has 25k miles on it, and after only 8k my after market parts up the hp to 550hp and for the life of the vehicle it’s avg is 25.7 mpg, that’s with numerous track days too.
It’s got a better head and more flow fyi for the 2023
Damn, John Davis is indeed getting old. I can hear in his voice
3.46 gear ratio is lower than 3.15. The higher the numeric value, the lower the gear ratio.
Higher number better for acceleration
good thing it's fast, so my eyes don't settle on the cacophony of bulges, scoops, folds and creases that pass for bodywork these days
What do you think of a C8 vette in comparison styling wise?
Yet people fussed and complained on how the MK4 A80 Supra (fourth generation) looked compared to the MK3 A70 Supra (third generation), upon release (and was literally a sales-floppd car for over nine years)
@@germanengineering204 I like the C8 Corvette (especially as a rear Mid-Engine car which it was supposed to be that since the 60s). But I also like the styling of the MK5 Supra.
Ya it's hideous
When the ft1 concept came out, i was really excited for the then upcoming supra
The design worked really well for the lfa like proportions of the concept. But trying to shrink it into a z4 sized package made it look too overstyled for me.
Legend
Nice ride. Funny to see the infotainment system from my X3 M40i in there.
Wish John wouldn't narrate the acceleration process. I wanted to clearly hear her chirp third.
I really want to like the supra. I've had many MK2 and mk3 supras, 7 mr2s, all tracs...I love Toyota. I like bmws too so I don't even have a problem with the underpinnings.
My issue with the car; it's not a supra. It's not a 2+2, there's no sunroof/removable roof. It's not a GT. For a small fixed roof sports car experience, I would just rather get a 6th gen Camaro which does everything the supra does better. For way less money. Or a m2, which feels more like a supra to me with it's 2+2 seating, longer wheelbase and it's similarly priced. I just wish they didn't call this a Supra, as crazy as that sounds it's my biggest issue with the supra
Lol small car camaro wtf are you talking about lol
@@bigneutron77 I'm talking about the interior space. The supra is confined inside. It's very similar feeling to a 6th gen in feeling like a tank inside. I actually find the supra more claustrophobic.
@@tommyistommy oh yeah you’re right, almost identical visibility too.
@@bigneutron77 yeah I was surprised when I drove one, the way the roof is designed looks awesome but it's tight and dark inside. And I'm not a big dude at all (5'9 175). The supra is cool it's like a modern z3/4m coupe which had the same interior feeling
@@tommyistommy yeah Toyota should of had some sort of ambient lighting inside, definitely dark, especially if you have tint.
Those wheels freaking insane!
what a great BMW!
So a Lamborghini is a "Volkswagen/Audi"????? While a Rolls Royce is a "BMW"???
I’d still take a MK III Supra over this
This is just the perfect GT sports car. Its a shame because its a dying breed, probably one of the last of its kind with a manual and non EV.
Man would love to own one!!!
this is so bizarre......This follows the naration and editing from the old car reviews of the 80s and 90s......but im watching a brand new car.
But you still can't drive it with the windows down
GR Supra took some time to warm up to. With a manual transmission this is now the real deal.
Nice BM....I mean Toyota
