Bob Nelson is so good I bought a DVD of his HBO special. I bought it from his website and my son showed it to my grandkids (teenagers) and they loved it! They can recite most of it and it is so great to know that they found it to be so funny. It shows that you don’t have to be crude or vulgar to make people laugh. Cussing and being crude is a cheap and lazy way to do comedy! Bob Nelson you are the best!,,
Bob, thank you for years of laughter! I saw you twice in East Orange back in the 80s, and you made me howl both times - not to mention the times I saw you on TV. Your babushka routine was the best ever!!
Oh my goodness, I remember watching this when I was a kid. I never thought I'd see it again. I watched it with my sister and dad and we laughed so hard it hurt. - We lost dad two years ago, and the memories this stirs feel so good, just laughing together. Those are the things that matter in life. Thank you so much for the upload.
Anytime I ran into him on TV I would watch his skits They are so funny. Jazzy Jeff and the football player are awesome skits. My wife and I have been calling each other Dain bramaged since the 1980s.
Boy, I've looked for this video so many times I gave up looking. I once had it on VHS too and loaned it to a friend. I had the whole series, but Bob had me laughing the whole 25 years since with this one act. Brilliant! Thanks for posting it Steve.
Exactly - Bob Nelson, man with SO much talent - and that person who introduced him (can't even say the name) somehow gets their own show. She wasn't ever funny when she was filling in between segments on VH1 - I have no idea how she got to where she is. And Bob Nelson, one of the funniest men in show business - I have trouble explaining his routines to people now, but they were and still are some of the funniest bits I've ever seen!
Bob has been in several movies including Kindergarten Cop and The Falcon and the Snowman.. The first time I ever saw him was on Dangerfield's comedy show.. He killed me.. He's been a favorite of mine ever since.
Totally right. I came on to RUclips to see if I could find that Jiffy Jeff routine. How many years ago was that aired on tv ? It is still stuck in my mind. This man is comedy gold , he should have been way big .
Sadly, this was not the entire skit. The skit began with Rosie announcing Bob, and Bob coming on stage as if he were a sound guy telling Rosie that Bob was no where to be found, so he offers to tell a story instead. I still have this on VHS. I used to record this comedy show every night it was on.
Please upload the entire skit! I think this show was filmed at the Ice House in Pasadena, CA. My wife and I have been to many, many of the VH1 stand up spotlight shows including the original host, George Lopez, then hosted by Bobby Collins and, of course, the last host of Stand up Spotlight, Rosie O'donnel. Bob Fisher's Ice House, ALWAYS a great time.
I actually have the whole skit on VHS somewhere. The quality isn't the best, but still watchable. If I can figure out how to upload this. I might do it myself. It's a great skit.
I seen this guy on johnny carson the boxer skit ,, he is very under rated ,, I think he is 1 of the best comics I have evr seen .. & the football skit is priceless.
I saw a Bob Nelson special a long time ago where he was running around inside of a building playing all kinds of different characters on stage. If anyone knows the name of this special or knows where to find it on here please post the link. It's probably one of the funniest skits I have ever seen and I have been looking for years trying to find it.
LMFAO This is by far.......bar none.........the funniest comic " routine" I've ever seen I've watched it ......oh........ten times now and I laugh harder every time I watch it
The jolliest being in the universe, has the least amount of responsibilities, and has lived this way for the longest time. That's why the bathrooms in our condo have quiet flush electric toilets. Heaven = Have Fun... Craig :)
I recorded this clip 25? years ago and my brother accidentally taped over it. I've been looking for it ever since. At the beginning of the clip which is missing, he pretends he is the AV guy and Bob is missing so he's covering for him. Just a wonderful comedy skit.
Hey Bob. Good to see you and love the skit. Do you remember doing a show in Ft. Myers, Fla. way back and challenging the room about you not being able to be stumped by a Polack joke and offered a free drink if anyone could stump you on the punch line? Probably not and I don't blame you but the joke was "Did you hear about the guy who bought his wife a washer and dryer for Christmas?" You came up with some good ones but the punch line was, "He got her a douche bag and a towel!" The room went upside down on that one and my friend, after finally getting my rum and Coke after twice saying something it was damn good going down and I never got the chance to simply say "Thank you Bob" and I will always remember that show. You were great. I had the front table and was at the base of your mike stand. Damn, that had to be almost thirty years now. I hope all is well on your end and best of luck! Lewis
Bob Nelson was so, so underrated.
my basements flooded.
@WHYISLIFECRAZY Glad you enjoyed it. I think I've got his name right, but I'm only guessing.
hilarious

A master of mimicry and physical comedy. Proof that wit and humor don't need to be vulgar, obscene, insulting, or demeaning to someone.
That guy is a riot! Clean, unoffensive, and yet completely hilarious. He's a true comedian.
Home come this guy ain't a superstar of somethin'? Caus' this dude's in a class of his own...
Bob nelson one of the all time greats
Bob, thank you for years of laughter! I saw you twice in East Orange back in the 80s, and you made me howl both times - not to mention the times I saw you on TV. Your babushka routine was the best ever!!
We were fortunate enough to see him at Zanies in Nashville back in the 90's and yes, he killed it. Did all the great skits he's known for and more!
Oh my goodness, I remember watching this when I was a kid. I never thought I'd see it again. I watched it with my sister and dad and we laughed so hard it hurt.

Some standup comedians don't make me laugh, but he did. Great Job!!
Omg I'm crying!! He's so funny!
Bob Nelson is pure classic comedy. I always liked his skits he does.

I always wondered where gefilte(r) fish came from. LOL! This guy is a RIOT! Check out his Juggling Babushkas.
Man, did he ever nail the character on that one... all his characters were pretty dead on
I only remember seeing him a couple times in the 80's or 90's & he KILLED IT! Why did he not make it big? He was (is?) GOOOOOD!

Probably because he's a clean comic.
Saw him in Atlantic City opened for Rodney, what a gas both where on! Funniest night of comedy I was lucky to be there!
He's cool... I loved Brain Donors, and also his bit about trying to shoot the duck.
Yeah, the football is skit is maybe the funniest sports act I've ever seen.

This character had a name...what was it?
I don't recall him being named. It must have been referenced elsewhere, because I only remember him as "the AV guy".
Kenn Pierog I remember now . . . it was Eppie Epperman!

Ah I was looking for this clip! Thanks for posting it! I loved this one. Stand up Spotlight! So many great comedians were on here!!
Just discovered this , i must have watched it a dozen times in the last day or so and I still laugh every time .
Saw him at my cousins firemans installation dinner in Melville back in 96 I believe , man he was funny !! Great comedian !!!
He's a comic legend in Long Island...the man is funny!!!
I'm dying to see the jiffy jeff from the Dangerfield specials. My fav skit ever. If anyone has it, please post it!!!
I seen this guy on johnny carson the boxer skit ,, he is very under rated ,, I think he is 1 of the best comics I have evr seen .. & the football skit is priceless.
Budding comedians should NOT watch this. His prodigious talent will inevitably discourage you.
Excellent! Truly a great comedian and lots of fun to listen to.

Yes, Bob Nelson still performs!
VH1 WOW. What a great channel back in the early 90's
You're welcome, my only regret is that I didn't get the whole act.
Best comedian to ever walk the face of the Earth.
Bob Nelson was classic comedy - hands down. Loved him from the 1st time I saw him on Dangerfield's young comedians.
Where can I find more VH1 Stand up Spotlight videos?
This is a skit my family has talked about for years!
Soooooo good ! dont know why he didnt get huge !
The jolliest being in the universe, has the least amount of responsibilities, and has lived this way for the longest time. That's why the bathrooms in our condo have quiet flush electric toilets.

I recorded this clip 25? years ago and my brother accidentally taped over it. I've been looking for it ever since. At the beginning of the clip which is missing, he pretends he is the AV guy and Bob is missing so he's covering for him. Just a wonderful comedy skit.
