Bob Nelson is still one of the greatest comedians and a favorite of mine. Fabulous he can make you laugh so much and never have to depend on any vulgarities or every third word starting with F. Nothing cheers me up more than rewatching these wonderful skits of his. Thanks!
First time I saw Bob Nelson was in the mid 80's. His FOOTBALL routine was absolutely fantastic!!!! His DUCK routine is just about the funniest I've seen. How do they think this stuff up.
me too ,my dad took as a kid and in 9th grade (1988) I did the Football routine in front of my school and there parents ,things did not go over well after....
WHY IS THIS GENIUS ALMOST UNKNOWN FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC? He had roles in a few movies in the 90's but disappeared completely after that. And it was not because he was bad--nobody thought _that_
He is a Christian. He doesn't believe in dirty comedy. I assume he wouldn't take alot of roles. He likes his comedy to be family friendly. I personally believed he got passed over too many times in Hollywood and started just doing his stand up, but idk. I seen him live around 2012, he explained Some of it. His show was hilarious, I laughed from beginning to end.
Oh, THIS is hilarious! My kinda new pet Starling Bird (she's about 3 & a half months old, now --- in the stage of "hearing & memorizing" sounds she hears & likes, though she won't be letting anyone know or hear what she's memorized til she'll be 9-12 months old, so I'm told) came zooming across the room to my shoulder to watch/listen to this video, as soon as she heard you, Bob, making the regular song-bird sound effects --- then she diligently listened to each of your sound effects for the whole rest of this gig (so, no telling what/if she's "filing away in her memory bank" for future repeats!)! Love it!
mike smith My dad used to laugh so hard at this guy that I thought he was going to black out.His football bit is great, hell all of them are now that I’m old enough to understand them.
I saw him many times back in the early eighties Tuesday nights at the Taproom in Ambler. Pa. He was 10 feet away. Laughed may ass off and was amazed at how he could improvise changing stations on a hand held radio. Craig Shoemaker was the host and had many other comedians, Ron Glass, Bob Saget, before Full House, Dom Irrera before Howard Stern, Big Daddy Graham The WID., and countless others. I had to hit the bathroom after a show and Craig was dividing the money between the comedians. They were the old days and they were Great!!
I first saw this act at Richard Dixon's White House in North Massapequa in the '70's. I'll never forget it. It was the high point of the night, even though Eddie Murphy was also performing.
I've always thought he was one of the best comedians of all time he was so clean I could bring houses to the ground I saw sure he said red Skelton came and saw a show and he wasn't cleanand red Skelton told him that you're better than that and the cleanup the act because you're so good you don't need to be dirty red knew what he was talking about this guy has incredible talent and always has
This guy should have been way more famous and rich because his routines were outrageously funny because he was an amazingly smart guy with amazing impressions and sfx. This routine is so well planned and executed. Compare ti any boring comatose Seinfeld stand up. It doesn't stand up. :)
Well...he and Jerry both came from Massapequa (me too). But different high schools. Bob went to mine. I saw him do bits at backyard parties. He kept it clean of course. Nice guy too.
@@NYVoice I never got Seinfeld in standup or his show. I guess I needed to be Jewish maybe. ? But maybe it's just his style didn't appeal to me. Like, I like Steven Wright's stuff because it's surreal and often clever but it's not bust a gut funny. I like the silly stuff. Like this duck routine. Steve Martin did purely ridiculous stuff. Guys that just stand there and do the boring anecdotes.... I just am not into that. That's why I like Bob because he does skits instead of "funny thing happened to me on the way to the show". zzzzz
awesome, do you still perform... you were by far the funniest on the Dangerfield HBO special where everyone became famous. You would be on top of that list. Your football skit was a classic when I first saw it.
This guy is comedy genius. If you want to see more of him, you need to find the movie Brain Donors (based loosely on the movie A Night at the Opera, by the Marx Brothers). It is pure slapstick. If you don't laugh, "I'll poo-poo on your face"!
Bob, you are awesome! Duck, duck goose... take it easy on the language for the kids sake that are listening... you don't need that language to be funny, my brother

I love the foot ball routine, it never gets old to me

HORRIFICALLY UNDERRATED PERFORMER I first saw Bob Nelson when he debuted on Rodney Dangerfield's HBO show...PHENOMENAL comedian
One of the best! I first saw him on Carson and never forgot how funny he was. Still to this day, I show my friends these videos.
Bob is hilarious especially with the duck routine

Amazing talent. He’s got the gift of being able to hold his audience’s attention.
Brilliant...you are the Picasso of comedians. That simple line you draw has so much behind it!!!
His HBO special was my introduction to comedy as a kid. Amazing...

I remember loving this as a little kid. Genius then and now
You never forget a Bob Nelson routine. Sometimes, I'll just be in the car and say "Jeff, Jeff, Jeff. What? What? What?" and laugh my fool head off.
The jiffy Jeff’s gym bit is so good.
"They call me gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen, start your engines!!!"
The baseball skit was great too..
I loved watching this guy years ago on “Dangerfield’s”. He often had me doubled over in laughter. Great comedian!
I remember this from way back when I was a kid getting into comedians. Legendary.
I've watched this bit a dozen times and it still cracks me up.
sure it's not quacks me up !!!!!! ?
The best imitation and wonderful story of a little duck since Walt Disney I have ever heard. Sean from Scotland
this guy never truly got his claim to fame. i saw him live in the 80s and its still just as funny today.
mike smith My dad used to laugh so hard at this guy that I thought he was going to black out.His football bit is great, hell all of them are now that I’m old enough to understand them.
He did have a small role in Kindergarten Cop.
I haven't seen this in 30+ years. Not since I was a teen. So great to see it again.
That routine was so hilarious. Loved it.
I never heard of this guy.
This was brilliant, very funny man. Shame I had never heard of him.

This Set is Brilliant!

Never heard him before. He's good with the animal sounds. He's hilarious. Love his pistol routine.
Watch his Jiffy Jeff Boxing gym commercial routine!
Truly talented
Outstanding Mr. Nelson bravo !
Very funny.... thanks for sharing!!!
Classic. We watched this on vhs so many times. I know the whole thing like the back of my hand.

Too bad he says "oh shi!t" and "you little b!tch" in this very video. Not that clean.
Thank you EVER-so much for posting! I saw this when it was new, and have searched for it for what, 25 to 30 years???

A mind is a terrible thing
My first time... LOVE it...
I heard Bob Nelson for the first Time a couple of weeks. Where have I been all his life.
If you like Bob you might take a listen to Dimitri Martin.
Well that was the most unique act I've seen in a while.
Laughed so hard! xD
This guy needs more attention

This guy is frigging awesome and funny
Reminds me of Wes Harrison's The Great Duck Hunt.
Yes! Harrison’s was excellent, and included many more sound fx using only his voice.
I was thinking the same thing, but I couldn't remember Wes' last name - thanks!
This guy never made it in the uk. Me and my mates would have gone nuts for him when we were kids. Only discovered him a year ago
My kids even have the football routine memorized.
......"because the mind is a terrible thing........."

A fabulous story-teller and pantominist. He seemingly just disappeared.
The duck sounds just like Webster Webfoot. (yes, I'm old enough to remember that show)
Same here..
Genius 💡 👌
Nice job.
I should have known better than to try to take a drink of Pepsi while watching this lol
