- On Rodney Dangerfield’s 1986 HBO special “It’s Not Easy Bein’ Me”, Bob Nelson performed several over-the-top impersonations including his punch drunk prizefighter character “Jiffy Jeff”. He shared the stage that night with Sam Kinison, Roseanne Barr, Jerry Seinfeld, Robert Townsend and Jeff Altman.

This was the video that got me into stand-up in 1986. I recently headlined the Vegas Tropicana Laugh Factory, Rodney's old club. I thought about these Rodney specials all week. ❤❤😅😊
Haven't seen this since 86! Never forgot it!! Still hilarious 😂😂😅
I haven’t seen this in years and it is still hysterical!
I have this somewhere on video tape... (don't laugh), also on the show is Roseanne Barr and Sam Kineson, among others. Histerical and timeless!
Watch John Fox, or Greg Travis next!
I love Bob Nelson, saw him in person, never stopped laughing!!! God Bless him, so glad he’s cancer free!!!
I saw him in Boston in 1993. I almost turned blue laughed so hard I could not take a breath. He was like a cartoon character that suddenly came to life..
Thank you for your kind words 🙏
I remember my dad recording the 9th Annual Young Comedians HBO special in 1984 with Bob Nelson, Sam Kinnison, Louie Anderson, etc. on Betamax. He still has it! This dude is funny as hell! Too bad he would be cancelled in this day and age.
He cancelled himself……
@@mavelous1763oh no he didn't DA
I remember seeing this on HBO the night they showed this LIVE. It cracked me up then, and it cracked me up now. The Dangerfield Specials and Sam Kinison. DICE too!
Dangerfield, Kinison, Dice - all comedy greats! This guy? More of a leach off the other guys.
@@kraftyDevilXYou're on drugs that's for sure DA
Loved this routine back in the day. Now you only get to see characters like Jiffy Jeff in senatorial debates.
I've never forgotten 5 dollars, 5 dollars 5 dollars funny as shit man, 40 years later I got tears running down my face from laughing so hard. Nobody does it like Bob. He's the greatest.
ok i just spat my drink out at .." gentlemen...gentlemen....gentlemen...START YOUR ENGINES !!"
I remember watching comedians like Bob on HBO in the 80s, Bob is definitely unique. Everyone should watch his baseball routine.
Thrilled to have found this...many thanks for posting! Saw this as a kid and it always stood with me..."Jeff, Jeff, Jeff, What, what, what" lol.
We never got this guy back in uk. Wow i am gobsmacked at how skilled and funny he is
Ever gets old. Freaking fantastic!
One of the all time greats.
I remember this act when it came out back in 86. I was in the Military back then.👍😎😁

I waa also in the Military, this guy is really funny.
36 yrs later? And it’s still my favorite stand up
One of the greatest bits of all time
This guy is fricken awesome, way better than most i see just cool as shit man love him!!
Never seen this guy before. Some of his stuff was actually pretty funny. Kind of catches you off guard, lol.
This dude started in a comedy trio with a guy named Rob Bartlett and another dude named Eddie murphy
"He's hidda me, he's hidda me, he's hidda me..." heheheh
One of my favorites from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back! Duuuuuuuuuuuuh!
the greatest 10minutes ever til this day
That schtick never gets old 😂😂😂
This never gets OLD , Love Bob
amen
This guy takes comedy to a new level! I love satire and improv! That's clever humor, highest form!😅 Followed him for years. I remember him saying that Red Skelton spoke to him early on in his career. He told him that he didn't need to use profanity in his act, that he was funny as he was without the F bombs! This video tells me it's early in his career when he thought the F bombs would have some weight. Anyway, an outstandingly person and blessed with a great humor! I take my " humor" and positive attitude everywhere I go and people enjoy the positive vibes😅!
The 4 rules to become a professional fighter,

2. Get a good nickname.
3. Train everyday.
That's the 4 rules to become a professional fighter.
You repeated 2 once.
Love Bob Nelson's Football !
My buddy. Ray DePeitro (R.I.P.) LOVED THIS GUY....AND HE REALLY IS A CLASSIC COMIC!
Jiffy Jeff has a little Charlie Callas tossed in there. Funny stuff!
I remember all his appearances on Danerfield’s and his HBO shows he was also in kindergarten cop with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
This is one of the Best Comical stand ups of all Time no Comedian good do , Jiffy Jeff..

Classic!
Classic. Love it!
Omg, I had this on VHS 😂❤
My favorite of all time !!!
Comic Genius! He could make open heart surgery funny!!!
What an awesome comedian. Red Skelton was and still is a good platform to start from. Bob Nelson was very good to follow in his footsteps. So so funny
I've read somewhere that Bob and Red Skelton were talking one day. Red said to Bob that the cursing part of his routine wasn't needed. He was hilarious without that crutch! Bob wisely took that suggestion and never looked back! That's how I remember it!
What an absolute classic
The best thing to get you back
Really good standup comic, just ask for Jeff, what, Jegg, what Jeff. You know ask to see more of Bob Nelson a great comic.
I never caught it when he introduces himself and says Jeff, and turns to see called him...kmsl
One of the best comedians ever
One of the best ever
That was amazing comedy right there. lmao I wonder what happened to him
~ He's a "Born Again" Christian and has distanced himself from this.
Got colon cancer actually.
Use to catch him on pot luck night at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. He did that same routine. Great bit.
i like his football bit best
Bob Nelson....A DIFFERENT, BUT VERY. VERY FUNNY GUY!
The reason Bob Nelson cleaned up his act is because he became a born-again Christian he goes to a little church out here on Long Island, one day walked in to my church and I said I know with that guy he looks familiar, well after church I introduced myself and he told me who we was in like an idiot I started doing his skit his football skip and he didn’t even want to talk about it he definitely changed his Waze, And I’m glad
Yep..the douch came out of him when you tried to befriend him..
I thought he passed away long time ago
I'll never forget the Jeff Jeff Jeff What? What? What?
This still kills today...
Channeling Sid Caesar. That's a good thing.
This is when comedians were funny, not political.
raizinboyz Oooo.
If you can't take people being political you need to move out of your parents house and live in the real world
Always a neo-con who complains about politics. Comedians have been political ever since there were comedians.
I'm a Brit so let's get that outta the way first. I saw Bob on a previous RUclips video with the college football player routine which had tears running down my face.... times have changed though and that routine was evidently axed for obvious reasons. Then I saw another routine that was good... but without the football routine wasn't anywhere near as good and I wondered what would become of Bob. Now this has popped up and I'm baffled as to the timeline of his career.....BUT... without a doubt this is a brilliant routine and once again left me crying with laughter. Great work by what I can only assume is one of the American greats.
I wonder how many modern day stand up, comedians take stuff from old days that people don’t even remember and make it their own
Funny, funny, funny comedian, very talented
I always loved him. Thought he was gonna blow up Big!! Nice Set
Hey Rodney, what happened to Nelson, haven't seen him in decades
All time.
Laughed my balls off!!!
appears as if he went one round with Mike Tyson!!!😂
Joseph Hickman No, he went two with Marvin! Hagler! Marvin! Hagler! Marvin! Hagler! 🤣
Halfn halfa halfa halfa hour.....WE HAD DEEEAL.....
I miss that guy
Hilarious 🤣
I’m sure there was no cocaine use going through Dangerfield’s in 1986
1st stand-up set ever I remember watching.. 30 years ago in Springfield Ontario while my mom was having an affair with some coffee shop chooch..
So jealous of the adults who got to live and enjoy the 80's and 90's........What an awesome time, lol.
Hilarious
When I need a laugh...🤣
Yeah, I agree guys. Lot of really good comedians came out of the mid-80s here of Dangerfield's and evening at The Improv. See if you guys can help me. There was an 80s comedian who did a perfect Johnny Carson and Carson was even in the crowd that night marveling over this guy. Did some other great impressions as well but I'll be damned if I can remember his name? I want to say his last name was lamarche or Le Mars? He kind of look like Fred Grandy who played on The Love Boat. Any ideas who this was?
JOHN KUHN MUSIC ..... Rich Little
Maurice LaMarche
@@KS-wt9gj Just saw this reply? Rich Little was GREAT during the 60s, but these NEW cats comin out in the 80s had so much more originality, but they also had more ppl to study? Thanks for responding!
@@bldonovan1628 OMG! Thats IT! Thanks man ! 😎Ive had an ABSOLUTE BLAST all evening catchin up on this cat. Lived with a chick, who made GOOD $$$ (87-90), 3 yrs of the 80s I actually had a residence, so EVERY NIGHT was comedy night on some premium cable station!😊Really puts the ZAP on a BOOMERS head when re-livin 40 yrs ago THEN, the next video shows 40yrs later, like that Howie M interview with Maurice with a staff born around 90, who were clueless who He was?...BUT? started freakin when they realized WHERE all those present day "voices" were HIM...LOL
Punch Drunk BoB.....🥊🥊😂
The best
Way toooooo funny. The good old days
He is good
I always wondered why this guy didn't get huge, he makes most comics seem goofy.
Ricky Ricardo was in the audience,
4:47 Is that an MC Hammer reference?
Bob is great. haven't seen him before. glad he's cancer free.
Great 👍
I saw..he was looking
For donations
to help him.
Boy this industry Hollywood or any of this type of industry of entertainment..doesn't really help people. as much as I thought it did when you become a comedian!
I hope his fellow comedians help him out... If it was the Kardashians looking for donations people would line up
even they already billionaires..
yet here we have somebody that really has some good entertainment and a successful life with real nice to them and these are the ones that don't get it as easy.. this tells you how life is so unfair..
Joey Diaz Plus Felipe esparza liked
Him.
I hope they helped him and other
fellow comedians..plus etc..
Peace

He's Albert Brooks brother.
What ever happend to this guy ? He was hilarious .
He became a born again Christian and does clean comedy now.
Andy Bumatai was another good one.
😆 lol
ke's grawing from Jim from Taxi, and Charlie Callas...
My brothers and I spent years going “Jeff Jeff Jeff! What what what!?”
He is very funny. He would be every bit as funny without the F word and he would have a wider fan base.
Dann that was funny simple ,but funny, what what what.answer the phone Teresa...thanks guy what a riot...ah New... York .
10:06 bob saget
Damn he's funny.
What ever happened to this guy?!?
He’s a west paw 💀💀💀
Lol
Bob's interview with Red Skelton cleaned up the foul language and Bob became a clean comedian like Red. All the best to this man today. You may lose the world, but you gain eternal life.
red skelton is immortal???
That vein is trying to escape his neck
The other funny dude from Massapequa! Massapizza I mean (I met the Other One in person once! A certain Mr. S.)
I ssooo remember Bob from my college days and we crowded into a dorm room (yes pot smoke was there) and laughed to we peed ourselves . I called him the Robin Williams of the 80"s...albeit a different comedy jandra. What happened to Bob? He was a genius.
Karen Hilker ....genres

First time we lost it, cocaine days
