  • On June 4, 2024, China's Chang'e 6 mission achieved a historic milestone: its rover embarked on the first traverse of the moon's far side, and the lander transmitted a breathtaking 4K resolution panorama back to Earth. Launched on May 3, 2024, Chang'e 6 represents a significant advancement in China's Lunar Exploration Program (CLEP), with primary objectives of landing on the far side, collecting samples, and returning them to Earth. This solidifies China's position as a global leader in space exploration. The lander touched down within the Apollo Basin. The six-wheeled rover, equipped with scientific instruments, was deployed for in-depth surface exploration.
    The 4K panorama, capturing the rover's tracks against the lunar landscape, offers an unprecedented view of the lunar far side. The rover, measuring 1.5 meters in length, 1 meter in width and height, and weighing 140 kilograms, is solar-powered and equipped with six independently driven wheels. Chang'e 6 Lander's scientific payload includes a Panoramic Camera (PanCam) for detailed images, a Lunar Penetrating Radar (LPR) to probe subsurface structures, and a Visible and Near-Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (VNIS) for mineralogical analysis. Final view of the Lunar surface is by iGadgetPro.

    This little rover is mainly a remote camera. His big brother, Yutu-2 rover, is currently cruising on the far side of the moon too. It's been working there for 5 years, together with Chang'e-4.

      What's unique about it is that they were able to establish a relay satellite for communication between the far side of the moon with the earth, which is otherwise impossible for radio waves cannot penetrate the moon mass, and direct beam of radio wave from the earth cannot circle around to the other side of the moon that never faces the earth.
      And another breakthrough is that the moon rock and soil from the far side of the moon are collected ang going to be brought back to earth for study, so that we get to glimpse into the early history of the formation of the solar system. That's the kind of study and research based on tangible materials, instead of merely photo survey from satellites revolving around the moon.

Their focus is to win silly races, but never start caring about their own people. The water they consume, the way they cook their food...etc. India doesn't care. Depending on old Russian crap they think is still new. In other words. The space race is supposed to be a crown on what we managed to reach in our Western societies, and not the main goal. We rather care for our people first, and than win races, here in the West. But well India, China, Russia, their focus is on showing off, but achieve nothing on behalf of caring for their own... They think their people come in unlimited supply... They think poverty isn't important to tackle. Human rights and life standards less important than winning silly races, with tech originating from 1940 Europe and USA. Feel free to be proud of it. Yet it is a crown stolen from their own. While the gold should belong to the people. They send it up in space.

      He is trolling... Americans these days
      👇
      Polls conducted on the conspiracy theory in the 90s show that, overall, only a small percentage of Americans believe the government faked the moon landing. One conducted by Gallup in 1999 found that only six percent believe the conspiracy theory. That percentage was the exact same as a Time/CNN survey done four years prior, according to Gallup.
      Ipsos polled the issue in 2019, the year of the moon landing’s 50th anniversary, and found that only six percent of all respondents believed it was staged. Among millennials, who are under the age of 45, 11 percent indicated their belief in the conspiracy theory. That percentage is slightly higher than those of Generation X respondents (six percent) and Baby Boomer respondents (three percent), according to the polling data.
      Another 2019 poll, conducted by YouGov, found that 29 percent of respondents 50 years old or younger expressed some belief that the U.S. government “faked the 1969 Apollo moon landing,” with eight percent answering “definitely true” and 21 percent answering “probably true.” Among respondents over the age of 50, only one percent answered “definitely true” and nine percent answered “probably true,” according to the poll.

The Chang'e 6 is much smaller and lighter than NASA's moon lander. What gives???

    • @lagrangewei
      @lagrangewei 2 месяца назад

      Apollo "legs" are actually on stilt, due to limited technology, the stilt physically tourching the ground allow the lander to know how high it is from the ground. the round pad you see is not the lowest point of the lander.

I'm talking about what I saw in those photos and there is minimal to almost no impressions at all under the pads and also noticed no blast crater that should have been created by the lander's engine exhaust. But hey, NASA claims that we actually did send and land astronauts on the surface of the moon so let's give them the benefit of the doubt.
