Does anyone know Kook? It's an online study room with background music and streaming. I've been using it recently. sometimes there are a few people join me and study together. Although we don't talk to each other very much, I feel like I’m next to others so I should be on my best behavior but I also have full control over my privacy. I think it is worth to try，The only complaint is that it doesn't have an Android version yet, and many of my friends are Android phone users 🤷♀️
love all your setup. the only thing i would say though is your typing experience would go to the next level with a mechanical keyboard. i thought it was just over hype with the current trend but it was actually a worlds difference for me. and aesthetically you can customize the keys and look of the keyboard.
One thing I was curious to see was the cable management setup for your new desk layout. That could be a neat adaptation to your desk series if you’re looking for ideas! Great work :)
So I dropped something metal that was a bit heavy on it the other day at about 32 inches from the ground and the glass didn't even scratch. It can withstand up to 1,000 lbs and was designed for durability. Not your average glass. 🙂

Yeah I did explore the Dell docks but none of them have an SD card reader. I have narrowed it down to these two: Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro or the Caldigit TS3+

Awesome video! The glass chair mat seems really weird to me. Firstly, chairs are designed to move effortlessly on carpet and wood anyway, and you have one of the most premium chairs out there, I can't imagine it doesn't move well on carpet or wood. Second, I would hate the elevation difference on and off the mat. I would never want to roll my chair off the mat, and have to life the chair to get it back on, be worried about going off the mat and probably get a wheel to fall off every once in a while. Third, it's glass... even if it's indestructible, I would still be worried about dropping something and damaging or scratching the glass, and I would still be worried the item I dropped would be more damaged, as opposed to carpet or wood. I'm speaking out of guesses only, as I've never owned this mat, and you would know better than I would, but this just seems absurd to me to have a glass chair mat...

Hi David, are you saying your 35” won’t run the full res with the MBP? If so, I ran the full resolution just fine. I actually have a 49-inch 5120x1440 now and my M1 MBP 13 is running it at full resolution with no issues.

Hello friend! Thank you for posting this video. I was curious as to your thought processes on a Dual monitor setup versus an ultrawide. Also, I would assume you wouldn't recommend that light to anyone who needs to use their monitor's webcam, correct? Or does the light not mess with cameras too much?
So I actually use a dual monitor setup at my work and the ultrawide at home and for me, the ultrawide is nice because of less cables. But I do enjoy the dual display setup as well. I guess it'll depend on what you use it for. I edit videos at home and I like using the ultrawide because the timeline looks great on there. As for the ScreenBar, if you're using a built in webcam, you can just turn the light off but if you have an external webcam, I think you can still have the light but you just can't turn it on while the cam is on?

Hey Matt, How does the Grovemade walnut shelf line up with the grommet holes of your desktop? I just ordered an uplift desk, but want to mount the monitor arm through the grommet hole and run the cables through, but it seems the shelf'll cause problems for that setup. Thank you!

For the speaker, I would recommend try the Audioengine A2+ or HD3 their sound quality is outstanding, but comes with affordable price and slick elegance look of it, BOSE may have very good on headphone area, but the speaker of them just a bit of over price in contrast with sound quality
Great video. If you are looking for a good docking station, I suggest the Caldigit TS3 Plus: www.caldigit.com/ts3-plus/ If that one doesn't suite your needs try their other docking stations. If you try a budget docking station, beware of anything that says "DisplayLink" firmware. It's a firmware that some budget docking stations use. It emulates the screen using your OS's built in screen record technology and is a headache to use since you have to run other 3rd party software to get around a few things.
Hi David, thanks for the suggestion but I ended up buying the Startech Thunderbolt 3 Dock (TB3DOCK2DPPD and so far it's working perfectly. I was able to run dual displays with this dock on my 15-inch MBP without any trouble. I did read about the DisplayLink on some docks and I appreciate you bringing this to my attention!

I have the same mic and I experience a bit of what you did in this video. it cracks up a bit if you’re too close and speak directly into it. then again, we need to be really close anyways :) I love your setup, having a screen in front of your screen like that reaminds me of how I sometimes have my iPad in front of my screen. Finally, I have found a guy using what I'm using since 2018! Please share the dimensions of your desk. The only difference is I'm using my Surface Book first edition with surface dock and the keyboard of the computer. An additional system is my high computational desktop computer which is connected to my Dell 4k monitor and I use synergy to connect keyboard and mouse of my surface book.
This is honestly one of the most beautiful set-ups I've ever seen. The only thing to complain is about the hub, there's plenty of good options on amazon. Congrats.
Make a video of how you work on your widescreen. Idk about Mac, but on windows you have a variety of tools to choose from, like displayfusion, windows power tools etc, to really customize your display and optimize your work flow. I think they are essential for wide-screen. Also next time you upgrade consider a wide screen with an incorporated USB hub!
