    My father was a creative guy, very hip-mod back in the 60s and 70s. I grew up admiring Vignelli's Stendig calendar on the wall of his office. When we bought our 1960s house two years ago, the first thing I did to decorate our little home office was to hang a Stendig. I save and reuse the sheets for gift wrapping paper. A big red bow really pops on them. Great to see others enjoy Vignelli's design as much as our family has.

    I hope you will see this, I have a few questions as as a 15 y/o who want to be an architect
    1.) How do you keep yourself focused so well and not distracted?
    2.) What's a good architecture school/college?
    3.) How do you feel most of the time? Happy? Stressed? Stuck?
    4.) What courses do you recommend taking for college?
    5.) How can I learn more about architecture if I'm searching for a summer job that could make me more educated?

    • @koehlerrock3830
      @koehlerrock3830 4 года назад +5

      I'm a Landscape Architecture student, and I can help answer some of your questions.
      1.) Staying focused comes with a good schedule. Find a routine you can work with and stick to it as much as you can. Having a planner helps immensely.
      2.) Architecture programs are pretty common across the world. You probably have a decent college close to you that will warrant good results.
      3.) Can't say for him, but for me, the things I feel most are excitement and stress. In school, you'll undoubtedly have a lot of coursework to work on, but there's always this thrill to add another tool you get to use.
      4.) Architecture and Landscape Architecture are pretty different coursewise, but still carry the same core concepts. I'd recommend talking to a university advisor about what minors you can use to compliment your major.
      5.) I can't accurately answer this because I don't know labor laws where you live, but look for related fields that can help you understand basic aspects of what you are learning about. Maybe a hardware store could be good.

    Fun to see a fellow architect redo his home office! I had my own practice for 12 years then rejoined large firms to bring in my own markets or expand theirs. Retired 2 yrs ago after working at a horrific unprofessional office in DC. I miss it tremendously.
    Will check out your past posts to see what you've been up to.

    Amazing. Thanks! As an interior design graduate, I could never get to the next step to kick start my dream. But I have pivoted to other industries. Looking at yours is like seeing my dream in it.
