- Hi! Today I am attempting to recreate the viral Pottery Barn pumpkin that was released for Fall 2022. The Pottery Barn pumpkin appears to be terra cotta with a heavy white wash but I am trying to cut the cost of the pumpkin IN HALF by using products you can find at your local craft store. I hope you enjoy this dupe on a budget!

Honestly, I don’t care for all the overly textured items. It’s overkill imo. I like the look yours has much better.

I love the larger pumpkin, it turned out beautiful Nicole!
Sifting cornstarch over slightly wet paint, letting it dry then brushing the powder off using a makeup brush or very soft paintbrush gives that beautiful dusty effect. I sprayed mine with a little hairspray to keep the cornstarch in place. Much the same as you do with glitter. I started collecting pumpkins last year knowing I wanted to create an indoor waterfall style pumpkin patch in my house this year. The open top ones I've been filling with artificial plants. Yeah, I painted them all to look like terra cotta. Love it!
I can't get over the prices this year for pumpkins. Outrageous. I love how yours turned out with the white wax!

The larger pumpkin looks great, I like the color as shown on my screen although I know colors tend to look different irl. Great job on your projects. At the end of the season I snagged two 4.5” white textured ceramic pumpkins from Walmart. There was a larger one available too, but they weren’t on clearance yet so I passed it by.

Hii dear! Just a quick suggestion: Use a larger paint brush when painting larger areas. It will save alot of time and be more satisfying. It's something I learned while a decorative art student. Enjoy 😃. Love, love, love your posts!
I found a great color for painting pumpkins. Folkart paint in Pueblo is perfect imo. I find it at Michael's and Jo ann Fabrics...1.49 or less. Yours turned out great!!

I think it would totally work! You could always prime them first with a spray paint for plastic just in case.
