My little cousin has the cutest children's book called "Pumpkin Oh Pumpkin". She loves it and wants to read it and decorate a pumpkin. Now when we read it, we have more painting ideas.
There were many good ones here, but my favorite was the natural vine pumpkin. Think it was the last one. Idk if I have the patience to make it, but it was beautiful and I may try.

Crikey here in Nelson, New Zealand the price of real pumpkins 🎃 has sky rocketed. Makes for an expensive although realistic display. I'm never really keen on plastic either.
I would really appreciate it if you got a closer show of the bottles of solution you're putting on the pumpkins. Can you write what it is in the descriptions please? Thank you for the video. You really inspired me.
From what I've seen, it looks like hot glue on the ones with designs, PVC glue(Elmer's school glue) or decoupage medium(mod podge) air dry clay, antique wax, and paint. As far as with the decoupage,it's probably floral napkins they used. With the air dry clay and molds, they just glue them on with a good glue like titebond or gorilla glue, paint them and apply antique wax so the details stand out. One idea with the wax is to get just clear wax, furniture wax is fine, and add a bit of paint. This way you can create any color wax you like. I do a lot of diy and thrift flips and art, and it's what I do. Much cheaper than buying all the many colored waxes. I even get cheap metallic paint and add some to a bit of clear wax. One doesn't usually need a lot just for one project, so you can also make up small amounts at a time. Otherwise, the only other thing they may have used here is a protective sealer, like polyurethane or polycrylic. If it's going outside, the polycrylic won't work, you need polyurethane for that due to being out in the elements. Hope this helped.
Moulds by several makers. My #1 favorite is Iron Orchid Designs, IOD for short. Also Re-Design with Prima. Both of those silicone moulds are sold by retailers so go to their websites to find a "stockist" near you. Of course Michael's also sells silicone moulds. Iron Orchid Designs sells their awesome air-dry clay, which is what was used in the video. Advantage over resins are that you can take it out of the (cornstarch-dusted) mould immediately and glue it to your surface. This allows you to seemlessly affix to curved surfaces while drying.
Wow! Thank you! I looked and found A Lot!! :) :) now, I just have to try and not spend my whole pay check... ;) oh, and thanks for the advice about the silicone too. I'm just learning
Yeah, they're not inexpensive but you pay for quality. What's nice about the IOD moulds is that they have a small micro-lip around the edge of the shape for easy leveling and removal. Watch a bunch of their videos to get a good idea on how to best use them. I suggest giving your surface a coat, applying the moulded clay piece, let dry a bit then give it all another coat to include the clay. Then you can dry brush or add dark wax for dimension. So much fun!!
Americans aren’t generally fascinated with pumpkins. Pumpkins come in season here in late September/early October. We appreciate our in season fruits and vegetables for one thing. Secondly, because they are in season during the time we celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving (which take place in October and November) we incorporate pumpkins into those holidays, naturally, because they are in season. Other than those two months we don’t ever even think about pumpkins.
In New Zealand it's Spring but more and more people are getting into Halloween but definitely not on the same scale as the USA because that's there pumpkin season. Cheers.
Cool ideas, thanks for sharing! Could you maybe consider a few additional seconds at the end of each project so we can actually see the final product? I appreciate the speed so we don't have to watch all the tediuos steps in real time, but the whole thing is kinda pointless if we can't see the outcome. TIA!
Some of these things are ok, but I prefer to see my pumpkins and gourds as nature intended. Much more seasonal, rustic and classy. Not with gold paint, decoupaged or wrapped in old shirts. And plastic pumpkins are gross.

Today, it’s better to buy a real pie pumpkin, cook it and eat it. Save the seeds and plant them or roast & eat them.
