Man you guys are so awesome for topping that lift off with some new tires! Only wish he went with some Bilstein 5100 or OME for the front shocks instead of spacers tho haha
@@kolt45andtwozigzags Nope just stock UCA. I did get new offset rims though, -21mm wheels to run 33s tires (285/75/16) is my setup. I believe the stock spare steel rims are -15mm so you can run 4 of those as well. It would just be a little tight (
@@hv4285 I recently replaced mine with a set of general springs. My truck is around 4-5 inches higher in the back. Don’t know what’s going on. Everything is installed correctly to my knowledge. Any ideas on where to start?
It's in very very good condition, minus a bit of a dent on one side from taking it out stock. Should have more building on this channel in the near future. Good luck on your build!
I’ve got a 99 and I’ve just started. It’s in perfect condition and I’m about to do a lift. I managed a set of 33’s without a lift. Scrubbing a little right now but only when I turn.
@@4WDTrek lol mine is such an odd ball. 95 thru 98 then there’s just the 99 then it goes from 2000 to 2004. So the problem I’m facing some of the parts are different. But every time I do an upgrade I love my truck more.
what always surprises me about lift videos is most don't give you a good description...i.e is it 4 x2, year model trim..and lastly why the owner is doing the lift ..daily driver, offroading, baja racing etc
What additionally did you need to do in the rear? Did you have to do the extended brake line ( do you have to bleed the brakes) ? How much was the lift actually? Thank you!
Did have to later replace the carrier bearing and adjusted the pinon angle a bit. Did not extend the brake line but just adjusted the bracket so it gave more room. I cannot remember the price of the lift as my buddy was the one who purchased it.
Great video. I just bought a 95’ and I’m looking do something very similar to this. When I looked up the old man emu leads though, they say they’re made for 98-04 Tacomas. Would they still work on the 95?
'I do believe they are the same for those years. My buddy had the same questions and we threw them on and they work. They do sit a bit higher than advertised however. And they will settle about an inch or so after a couple of months.
I don't have the exact measurements on that of the top of my head. But after about 3 weeks of driving, the rear end did drop down about half an inch after the springs settled.
good on you guys for hooking him up .
Thanks bud! He's a good dude!
Was the coolest surprise!!!!! I have the best friends EVER!!!!
Heck yeah bud! You are a good dude!

He then on the spacers to see how much height the rear will give him.
Once they settle out, we will likely throw in some new front end set up.
@hv4285 do you have to replace your upper control arms when going with the bilstein 5100s at the 2-2.5 inch setting. Don’t do a lot of off-roading.

2012 10 years ago whew time flies
I had such a hard time saying that. No idea why I kept doing that
Dude that looks so good!
Yeah it does!!! We did great getting it set up! Thank you for being you and helping make it happen bud!
Damn that came out great! I wish I had that easy of a time with putting the lift on my ZJ XD
It did come out pretty well! Just gotta go test it out offroad now! Haha

Thats awesome! I used to have a 95 pickup, the predecessor to tacoma. I miss it.
They are awesome trucks!

@4WDTrek so I guess it didn't settle as much as you were hoping???
@@flacktastic21 It did not settle much in the rear at all.
A power nail driver works well for taking the front spring bolt off.
That is a good idea. I will have to remember that for next time!
Hey did you use the leaf pack with or without the extra leaf?
The leaf springs are Old Man Emu lift springs
@@4WDTrek was curious though, it’s the standard kit? Not the one with the extra leaf?

95.5 - 97 had shorter springs on the first gen.
Do both sides sit at same hight or is one side taller?
Both sides from right to left sit at the same height. The front sits a little bit lower than the rear does. Which we need to still fix.

Thanks for replying what's the measurements for the rear ?? How much did it go up
