The first Joker was amazing, dark, violent, it was what fans wanted, However Joker 2, as soon as I heard last year that this was going to be a musical I was put off and also angry as to why they have gone down this path. I really don't like musicals and we have seen movies that try to be dark and gritty before but the musical element ruins it. I agree it depends on how the musicality is used in the movie, if its done in small doses and violence is used during the vocal singing then maybe it will prove to be a great movie, but if every scene turns into a song then the movie for me will be unwatchable. However we can't judge until the trailer comes out or the first reviews when its released in cinemas.

I am not a fan of musicals, which is why this one will be bonkers! I have full trust in the context and the darkness setting the tone. Besides, musical doesn’t mean automatically cheesy. This could be a properly theatrical, fascinating piece of work!

I consider myself to be exceptionally open minded in regard to this project.
A Superhero themed musical is totally original as far as Hollywood is concerned and that alone makes me happy. Success or failure, this film represents a creative risk and I respect any artist willing to take a risk that they believe in.
I think we're all having a hard time imagining how this could be good because we're trying to imagine the story at all 😅
In a genre as tired as Superheroes, I'll take anything fresh. Even if its not that great, I'll be seeing it.

I’m looking forward to this film and believe that doing as a musical should be very interesting and enjoyable however I definitely don’t think this was necessary and I do have some concerns that Phillips has let the artistic side of himself take over. There’s a a very good chance it pays off and this ends up being a huge success and if it does it’ll be because GaGa blows everyone away. I truly hope that’s what we get as the genre needs something new and exciting

Psshhh what? Joker was gritty af. Shows you what happens when a man, already suffering from mental illness, is cast aside by society and let down by a broken healthcare system. Throw in Phoenix's physical performance, gorgeous cinematography, and that haunting musical score, and you get one of the best films of the last decade.
