I was thinking the same, and considering where he is now, he will probably never win it. Too bad, but i am not saying i want to see him again in wwe, he is making a great job in aew
Don't worry if something is shit in wrestling... Papa H will fix it. Clearly he didn't want Austin Theory as Mr Money in the Bank as he didn't book it. This time it'll be much better I'm sure
One simple thing: plan the title reign. So many of the cash-ins are just based on creating "moments" and not on actually creating future main eventers. A MitB storyline shouldn't end at the cash-in, but it should continue throughout their first title reign. If you invest months into this person who's supposed to be the next star just for them to lose it in a month or so, it throws the entire concept and all that build down the drain. If you're gonna make someone WORLD CHAMPION, then they need to be treated as such, as you just end up devaluing whatever title they win.
That's why I personally think the last TRULY great follow up from a cash in was Dean Ambrose...7 years ago. It had the Shield storyline involved. But if you consider Seth Rollins to be the last TRULY great follow up from a cash in, I don't blame you. It was awesome and I loved Seth's heel title run back then
IMPACT might be smaller based but oh my god I can’t go back to WWE and have come to recaps and highlights, unlike Impact where the whole show is watchable tbh!
To me, Seth Rollins was the last guy who actually kept that Edge's legacy of ultimate opportunist the way he cashed in!! After that, MITB really felt like an overpush... Either the wrong pick or bad bookings...
1. Removing it from Wrestlemania was killed the prestige of it. 2.Having a annual PLE and cashing it the same night is stupid. It was alright with kane. 3. Remember when Edge won back then (2005) they used it to carry storylines and it was perfect.
@Chillin Villian Yeah, but Sheamus was losin momentum he needed it after his epic mega run in 2012 he was just there in the upper mid card, so winnin was good for him it rejuvenate his main event push
Some of my MITB ideas over the years: 1: On the rare occasion that the World/Universal etc Title is on the line at say a Royal Rumble (As in the actual Rumble match), have the MITB winner cash in at the end during the celebration of the Rumble winner/new Champion. 2: Have the MITB winner be in the same faction as the World/Universal champion. The thought process is that the faction then consider themselves untouchable as they have the title and briefcase…until an unexpected cash in. For this to work effectively, there needs to be enough occasions where the briefcase holder helps their faction member to win matches and/or no hint of dissension. Then….unexpected cash in! 3: The MITB holder hiding the briefcase under the ring after assisting the champion (a babyface champion) from being badly assaulted. This match and the people involved will have nothing to do with the MITB holder (storyline wise) before then. The beating that the champion will be receiving will be so severe that it’s seen as understandable that someone…anyone comes to help. MITB Briefcase holder comes to help and clears the ring…until they unexpectedly hit the champion with a signature move, roll out of the ring, look under it and pull the briefcase out…to cashing in right then and there! (For this to work/look effective it would need to be like Daniel Bryan and Big Show where the referee doesn’t insist on waiting for the champion to get to their feet!) Cash in, Samantha announcing the cash in, ring the bell, match starts! Finisher, new champ!
Number 2 has been done with the rumble winner. Randy Orton won the royal Rumble while he was a member of the Wyatt family and essentially made Bray believe he wasn't going to go for a match then he burned brays cabin with the remains of sister Abigail and declared the match at the last possible second to be able to promote it. Your 3rd one has also kinda been done, rey mysterio had just won (or retained can't remember) the WHC and was getting beat up by his opponent and baby face Kane comes out to help rey mysterio from the beating and chases the attacker all the way to the back, then walks out again briefcase in hand and he turned heel becoming the world champion.
The more recent MITB winners from 2017 to now, have been just lackluster and not as rewarding as previous years. Don’t get me wrong, there were some I personally enjoyed, such as Big E and Liv Morgan, despite their lackluster reigns as champs, but outside of them, almost every winner didn’t feel deserving, and that sucks. I truly hope this can be fixed, because I want to see MITB back to its former glory. 🙏
Even with decent winners like Big E and Liv Morgan, they wasted the cash-in to no affair. Former was on a random Raw, without even an attempt at building a rivalry with Lashley. The latter is another woman to cash in the night of.
@@Matthew-xh3rm It would also help if Roman didn't have a stranglehold on the Universal Title for over 1,000 days, and held the World Title for over a year in-between
I feel like Money In The Bank works well when someone is over and is in the midcard longer than they should be. That's why LA Knight is the perfect choice because no amount of adversity can turn him into a main event player - this is where you insert the briefcase to close the gap. And this is why Seth's was special too. The shock values never hit because we don't care much or it's not believable enough to have that person rocket (especially if there's no momentum - which is why other people think Damien Priest should win this year's) Notice how people who weren't the right holders just hit rock bottom or never recovered? That should tell you something. **Also, I still think Theory was going to help bring the prestige back with the way he was forced down our throats and teasing it - the problem is Reigns already had two belts lol
Agreed, Theory should still have the briefcase right now wwe just got impatient with him and rushed it. He should’ve held it as long as Ziggler or Carmella and played off the fact he didn’t have to cash in for a whole year.
The problem with money of the bank is that there is nothing left to do. I think the contract peaked in 2015 when Rollins cashed it in in the main event of Wrestle-mania. There is little left to do with the contract.
Ever since Seth Rollins, we haven't really had a good MITB winner. Sheamus was decent, Ambrose literally cashed in few later, don't get me started with Corbin, Strowman, Lesnar, & Otis winning, Big E was cool, but his WWE Title reign was forgettable. I was happy when Austin Theory won, but yeah they dropped the ball with that. Hopefully this year we get a good Mr Money in the Bank.
@@Matthew-xh3rm don't try to give triple h credit about theory how is he better now ppl still don't care about him give me a break with this shit and I'm actually been a fan
@@mgtwrestling123 He isn't doing the selfie thing, an obvious Vince trash idea. None of that future of WWE. He acts seriously and focuses on the future is now. I still don't care about theory but at least he isn't a complete joke. He isn't chasing for Vince's golden balls to get a title opportunity or anything. I don't like how HHH got the briefcase off theory, but it was a loss anyways so he made sure to get it off him as soon as he could. He looked like a complete joke, but you can't say that theory now is as a joke as he was then. Its just that people don't care. what he was then and with mitb that people find him hard to take seriously also doesnt help. He not a complete Jobber like before tho.
You can craft unique storylines with the contract as well. Example 1: A MITB winner holds onto to the briefcase for almost a year and is pressured to find a time to cash in before the contract expires. Example 2: A heel MITB winner feuds with a babyface who continuously foils the heel's opportunity to cash in on a champion.
As much as I wanted another Miz WWE title reign (because of how good of a natural heel he is), his loss was not in vain imho. It got passed on to Lashley and knowing how quickly Vince changes his mind a lot of the time, we might’ve never seen Lashley as a WWE champion if not for how red hot the Hurt business was at that exact time. It could never be proven, but I imagine that’s somewhat what happened
@@ryandonnelly8305 good promo with bad material most of the time not his fault though and improved in the ring sure I would hope so he’s been wrestling for nearly 20 years. Not sure what makes him a great heel other than the punch me face he’s had since his MTV days
Despite how successful its been i personally feel like making it its own ppv didnt sit right with me. It felt more special and memorable when it was on the WM card as it gave guys a spot on the card and a chance to have their WM moment
Winning money in the bank is such a wrestlemania type moment thing to me. The moment it got it’s own PPV is when it became less prestigious to me. There’s so much left to do with the MITB
@@Kalel2.0honestly I'm happy with Money in the Bank being its own PLE. It just feels right ,you get that feeling where "it's that time of the year again"
Their first mistake was making the 2017 MITB a brand exclusive event because the SD Live roster was not strong enough to have a star win it. That being said, Shinsuke Nakamura was RIGHT. THERE.
MITB should be done as a PPV they should of kept it as a special wrestlemania match like how it started , those mitb match from 2005-2009 at mania were the best & it only makes sense , their winning a briefcase that allows them to cash in for any champion they want when they want so it should be a big moment maybe it should be wrestlemania big
With Theory, here's how they could've booked him. They could've just had him answer the open challenge and lose clean. Then out of pure ego, he attacks Rollins after the match and upon seeing Rollins beat down, he cashes in on him to get the last laugh. This would've made more sense character wise and would've gave a better explanation on why Theory didn't cash in on Roman. That's how I would've had it played out. If they want Rollins to get the title back, they could've had Rollins get it back at the next PPV
Liv Morgan winning Money in the Bank last year just felt like the absolute right thing. Problem is, they just fed her to Ronda and of course, crowd turned on her (as usual). Liv winning the contract was like the first time something felt right with the concept in like 3-4 years but nah, baddest woman on the planet is what everyone prefers....
Liv Morgan winning was stupid and it set the women's division back 10 years When it should have gone to Asuka Becky lynch or Lacey evans but no hhh gave it to a legit clown from new Jersey
The best cash ins are Edge and Rollins. Great build up, great cashed in, great title reign and legit main eventers. The key ingredient in Money in the Bank is proper booking. Make the winner a threat and give them a great title reign.
Imo they killed the MITB concept when they gave it to Braun who didnt need it, then one later Brock was worse (needed even less), Otis even worse (midcarder at best, jobber to be real + he was litteraly the worst choice to win it in this 2020 match), and the Theory's one killed the dust of this concept
Don't forget Baron Corbin(where everyone rooted for him and we're excited to see him win the championship but he lost to jinder Mahal in 6 second via a roll up due to John Cena interfering)
@@dashtoroya2838 Im talking about wining the briefcase, Corbin was a solid choice to be a MITB winner but yeah his cash-in like many other recently was trash
MITB needs someone like LA Knight, imo. As he is great on a mic and would love for him to have a storyline with some of the current champions. Especially Seth Rollins or even Austin Theory would be fun. Though I think a storyline feud around the MITB with Seth Rollins would be really fun and I think the two guys can make some great television around it.
I never really got into Money in the Bank. It always felt like quick and cheap way to elevate wrestlers instead of actually taking the the time to build them up. The recent Money in the Bank winners and cash-ins exposed that flaw. MitB should just be done with and WWE should build new stars with better booking
From 2017 to 2022 there was no good wrestlers to hold the money in the Bank only Big E in the 2021 and 2017,2018 is complete waste so i hope WWE give what fans want this year . Give La knight is the huge thing and i think it's great choice because we have the World Heavyweight Championship too .
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion idk, but I think what seemed to be Vince's initial plan for Theory actually could've been really entertaining. Don't forget that Theory jobbing to Seth on his god awful cash in was a Triple H thing. Under Vince it sort of started to seem like the running joke was going to be Theory continuously attempting to cash-in the contract only to fail like every single time. Had that had played out like a running gag for each PPV it could've been really entertaining and had made Theory's time with the briefcase really unique. Instead though he was punished by Triple H for... idk... getting pushed too hard by Vince?
I know you made this before RAW but think this year if they don't give it to LA Knight they gotta put it on Priest. The stuff between him, Rollins, and Finn would make a compelling story if he had the briefcase
I personally think they should make money in the bank match back at wrestlemania the whole ppv for it has gotten very stale ane boreing atleast to me. It was more fun to watch at wrestlemania
Tbh Austin's failed cash in was systemic of a much bigger problem going on at that time. Austin Theory wasn't very well booked *far before* he got the MITB. It was very clear that Austin was getting favors done by Vince even outside of kayfabe and that really hurt people's perception of him. So with Trips being in charge shortly after this, he was suddenly given the incredibly hard task of getting the briefcase off of Austin Theory in a believable way. He couldn't do it on Roman Reigns because no way would anybody believe Austin could possibly beat him (at that time or even now imo). All the secondary titles were also on equally big stars, so what could he have possibly done? I didn't like his cash in either, and I think the decision came super close to burying Austin Theory, but it was honestly the best thing Trips could have done at the time with the resources he had.
I personally couldn't buy Theory as Mr MITB at all he shouldn't have won that match especially considering he wasn't even part of it before the bell rang
@user-vn4rq1db5q that's what I mean by getting favors done by Vince at the time. It was so clear that no one wanted him to have the briefcase, but Vince was so persistent on pushing him down our throats that we got the mess that was Austin being Mr MITB. Austin was simply set up to fail from the start.
Nah he could’ve held onto it longer and failed a cash in on Roman like any other superstar. They literally had him cash in on a mid card title DURING an open challenge 😂 Worst booked cash in of all time.
I think people and especially the writers forget that the briefcase is more than just a world title shot. This thing is a gimmick through and through and it always will be.
The other problem with MITB is that the only world titles we've had for the past 3ish years have all been on roman and no one is beating him. So everyone know that MITB is useless because roman is staying at the top. Now that there's a new heavyweight title it might make it better for making stars.
Not only was he the last great MITB holder, he's honestly the greatest Mr MITB holder of all time. He had the best run with the briefcase and his actual cash in itself is easily the best one. And then his title reign afterward was good and he's been a top 3-5 guy in the company ever since for nearly a decade
Hot take. I think MITB as a PPV as a whole isn’t that great. Because honestly….. how many matches in the PPV that isn’t the main attraction match that you really remember? Maybe 2 or 3 but as a whole the MITB PPV to me is just a show with a specialty match and other matches that just so happen to be on there and you sit and watch then waiting for both of them. At least the Royal Rumble had numerous classics people still bring up that isn’t the main attraction match itself. I think it would work better if it slowly works it’s way as a WM thing again or maybe even Summerslam. Make it even more grand and special saying it belongs on an even bigger PPV.
Roman getting sick at Day 1 2022 literally changed the entire build for the rest of 2022 - 2023. But my honestly I could booked it much better than Mr McMahon.
I personally think that they should revamp the Money in the Bank concept by saying that there's 1 of 2 things inside: 1. A World Title Shot 2. $250,000 Imagine the number of storylines this opens because then, Mr. MITB is not subjected to the old familiar storyline but can actually use the briefcase to heighten a personal feud. It would be awesome!
When we look back at his run with the briefcase, Damian Priest was able to save it someone. Yeah sure La Knight would have been great, but the briefcase made Priest into a main event star so it’s great to see that
Unpopular opinion: apart from Edge's second cash in and Miz and Rollins'one, a MITB reign never really elevated anybody. This is also because the stipulation is thought to be very heelish, so that in reality a low number of people could really benefit from it. Just look at Punk, Bryan, Ziggler, Ambrose reigns after cash in: bad at best, awful sometimes. MITB is often a fun match but its purposes are flawed from the beginning.
Title reigns are totally booking decisions, you can't blame the wrestlers for that, the issue is the higher up in wwe see Mitb winners as lottery ticket winners who can't make it on a fully made season in the company and also Rollins and Edge were properly booked heels with or without Mitb at the time they had it.
I never like MITB (,HIAC and TLC) as it's own ppv because I find it weirdly boring and feel those gimmick match lost its uniqueness. this year, LA Knight need to WIN or F The WWE.
Even with the Bloodline story going through as it is, I still believe Austin Theory should have successfully cashed-in and stolen the Universal Championship from right under Roman's nose. 1: McMahon's protégé, hand-picked to be the next top star with clear main event cowardly heel potential, a role he naturally slots into after it took so long for Roman to actually settle into the gimmick most befitting for him. 2: Holding onto the briefcase until just before Roman's 1000th day as champion to undercut him and make missing out on that landmark even more painful for Reigns, and unceremoniously booting Cody out of the main event scene by stealing his rematch spot. 3: Being Vince's final big middle finger to the fans as a way to remind them that this is Vinny-Mac's world and we're all living in it, even after he's retired, and giving Theory out after out after out to ensure he holds onto the belt by any means necessary (having a "nest egg" for Vince's "favourite child" so he can pay off referees or other wrestlers to help him cheat to win, for instance.) 4: A reminder that the MITB briefcase is a *_heel prop by nature,_* as it's an immediate skip-the-line tool and who keep trying to skip the line to greatness? Midcard heels, just like Austin Theory. 5: Seeing Roman losing his prized championship to someone so undeserving purely because of who's supporting him from behind the scenes, and seeing him spiral into a self-destructive obsession with getting the Universal Title back would have been an interesting direction to take the Bloodline's story - Roman making a big deal about Solo and the Usos losing matches and holding onto titles for as long as possible, only to lose his own championship to someone clearly not on his level and before he made history as the longest reigning Universal Champion would utterly break him, and him failing time and again to get it back from Theory because of shenanigans (mostly from Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens screwing with the Bloodline, but also from Theory paying off guys like Pretty Deadly or Bronson Reed to help him win with Daddy Vince's money, maybe even with a Paul Heyman backstab to the Tribal Chief) would make his descent into madness a great deconstruction of his character and just how fragile his hold on the top of the WWE mountain actually is. In the end, here's hoping they go through with having L.A. Knight succeed where Austin Theory failed; we need, and I mean _* really need*_ a MITB winner who's the best man for the role, and nobody could be a better fit right now than Knight - hell, if they can give Jinder Mahal a title run *_without_* the MITB briefcase, they can give someone a title reign by cashing in the bleedin' thing and the only man who can make it work as intended is L.A. Knight.
Idea: take a up and coming heel. Have him/ her win mitb. The person chooses to preserve themselves and go on commentary to scout the big 2 champs and antagonize both while building story. The 2 champs attempt to unify at wrestlemania and the mitb holder cashes in to win both in one shot on the biggest stage with little work. Both champs injured the heel can talk smack defend twice and lose in the return of one champ due to interference from the other returning champ to set up the triple threat at summer slam. This is where you can legitimately put over the up and coming heel. Continue defences and have them lose to a mitb cash in to the heels face rival from nxt and put 2 over and have a good rivalry. Thats how you use thw old to put over the new with long term story telling
How about the MITB winner holds on to the brief case for too long, then make a story line where they must cash in before next year's mitb ppv or else they must defend it in the match again. Idk, I'm just surprised that in 18 years, we've never gotten a story line where the MITB winner waits too long to cash in, then starts to feel pressure to rush a cash in as the next years ppv quickly approaches.
OR, have the previous year's MITB winner cash in and successfully win the title on the last day that they are eligible to do so, only to have the most recent winner immediately cash in on them and beat them.
Cody Rhodes plz it’s just right . And since it’s about making and reviving stars . Shana bazler needs it like hell she needs to be Batman not robin . And she needs to beat Becky for the title .
You know something is wrong when the best Women's money in the bank holder is Carmella. Don't get me wrong, she was probably the right choice at the moment but with people like Asuka, Alexa Bliss and Bayley, you wouldn't think Carmella would be the best womens money in the bank winner but she is.
I’m not upset about the women’s money in the bank but i think it would be cool if someone held the briefcase longer other than carmella but i do enjoy cash ins on the same night or the next night
that theory cash-in nonsensical failure has to be HHH's largest failure ever since he came in, aside from the poor women's booking (it's felt much better since mania though)
that briefcase only looked great and promising in like 3 or 4 superstars : RVD, Edge, Punk & Sett, and maybe Dolph, in rest ... just wasted space... I wish L.A Knight will make it prestigious once again, with run attempts to cash in on both Top tiers almost every week.
Only LA Knight and Becky Lynch can save this briefcase now Give them a long reign with the briefcase, hell even have them defend that briefcase too. That's the only way to save MITB
I would have booked Otis TOTALLY differently. With the pandemic causing a mess, I would have leaned into his silliness and just totally shot the moon with him (just to see what happened). He won his Mandy at WM, he won the MitB, and I would have had him cash in to win the belt. He was a hero to the casuals & especially to kids, and could have done some great things for their ratings during the Performance Center and Thunderdome eras. And if he sucked, wait until the crowds returned and totally ret-conned everything. Pretend that the entire pandemic era was a daydream, put the belt back on Drew. The reveal could have been awesome too: open Raw with Otis mid-match with some retired legend (like The Rock or the Undertaker). Otis sets them up for The Caterpillar as the crowd chants “Otis! Otis!” But then it transitions from the ring to the locker room, where Tucker is shaking Otis and calling his name. “Oh man, I just had the craziest dream!” and tells him about all of the RIDICULOUS things he did in 2020. Tucker laughs and says, “you lost me at ‘dated Mandy Rose’. Come on buddy, we have a match with Miz and Morrison.”
I say all of that to say this: I think that Otis *could* have had a justification for winning the belt and having a short run with it in 2020. And yet even I can’t see a way to put Seth’s belt on LA Knight. In his year and a half on the main roster, he’s been a manager for a jobber stable, dealt with a HORRIBLE feud with Bray (including losing the RR match), and is just isn’t being booked well. Right now, he feels more like Rusev and Barrett (getting over with a section of fans because of his charisma and a great catchphrase) than Edge or Rollins (next megastar just ready to break out).
it was my favorite during 2006 - 2010 and then the Royal Rumble took it through 2011 - 2022 and now it’s my favorite again hopefully this year’s mitb keeps it like that I SWEAR IF LA KNIGHT DOES NOT WIN I WILL RIOT
Fun fact: every failed cash in has related to cena bar 1 First: cena was the casher Second: cena was cashed in on Third: cena caused a distraction Technically speaking tho Four: cena made the us open challenge popular, had he not done it in 2015, the multiple repeats might not have happened. (Though, this is a stretch)
YEP. Money in the Bank has been pretty useless for the last number of years, when really it's on the level of the Royal Rumble. It's WWE's chance to bring someone new into the main event scene, but their lack of long term booking, and just generally terrible booking, has resulted in good candidates winning the briefcase and winning the title, but then being a weak champion and dropping back down to the mid-card as soon as they lose the title. One of the problems with this year's MITB, is that Cody hasn't even tried to get into it. What happened to Cody finishing his story? Roman's on Smackdown, the only way to get back to him quickly so you can finish your story is to win the Money in the Bank. Of course, he should have just won at WrestleMania, everything that's happened since could have happened anyways. The Usos still could have turned on Roman, and Roman hasn't even defended his titles since WrestleMania. Cody could have relinquished one of the titles the night after WrestleMania, because he just wanted the one title and as a babyface, he wants to share the wealth and provide a championship for whatever show he's not on, since Roman was holding them both hostage and they shouldn't have been unified in the first place. Whichever title was vacated could have been replaced by the new World Heavyweight Championship. WWE are their own worst enemy and they try really hard to make me want to stop watching. Again.
I don't care what anyone says, I feel like Nikki Ash could have been something special but they made her look like a joke. She had one 'defense' where she got her ass beat by Charlotte but won by luck and when she lost the title a few weeks later she was turned into a jobber. Stupid. I mean yeah she won the tag team titles with Rhea but... whatever
Theory’s Mitb run was perfect nobody’s as gonna cash in on Roman. Why not cash in on the us title when you tried cashing in the world title multiple times only to be disrupted. Especially with the bloodline in the mix. He now is on a historic run with the us title and elevating it more than ever and still absolutely thriving. Y’all are lost with videos like this😂 WWE is wayyy beyond what you guys know now that’s how absolutely white hot they have been. That Mitb booking of theory was great what else were you gonna do with Mitb ? Roman was gonnna hit 1000. Use it to keep developing your too young star theory’s Character. Perfect. Nobody compares to a thing WWE does
I’m pretty sure Austin Theory went for the US title because Vince pushed him for the money in the bank but HHH thought he wasn’t ready yet when he took over creative so they made him cash it in on the US title to revert the mib win
Whenever someone complains about Theory's failed cash in, all I can think is how they're missing the point. Theory had to come up with a plan B because cashing in against Roman kept failing. The more he tried and failed, the more desperate he got, and thus the more erratic his decisions became. He couldn't touch Roman so he wanted to try anything, literally anything, to get his hands on any belt. Otis on the other hand? That was a joke from start to finish. Nothing against Otis himself but creative didn't even pretend to have a long term plan.
Otis was definitely a decision they went with without thinking what to do with him later just so they can ride on his hot popularity at the time. It was a good shocking heartfelt moment at the time but afterwards you can clearly see “oh….. Otis? He’s definitely going to fail the cash in”. Well, I was technically wrong about that but you know what I mean.
MITB needs to stop being booked like a 6 man IC ladder in the Wrestlemania opening and more like an actual world title match, aka stop filling it with fucking midcarder ladder guys just because they do flips
The MITB has been treated like a joke for years now. The last time the MITB was treated as something was when Ambrose won it in 2016. And the last time the MITB was treated as a huge deal was when Edge cashed in on Taker in 2007. So the MITB is just now something they have to do and not treated as anything special at all.
I would have booked below 6 for MITB ladder match. Jey Uso, Dominic Mysterio, LA Knight, AJ Styles, Karrion Kross and Cody Rhodes. I would have Drew McIntyre interfere and win the briefcase.
The 2023 Men's winner of Money in the bank should go after Roman Reigns. Handcuff Paul Heyman and the Bloodline to something after a Reigns match have the Raw and Smackdown Men's roster hit finishers and signature moves then have the cash-in. Doesn't have to be same night they got 1k days as champion a PLE after Money In The Bank would work.
I always hated the Money In The Bank concept. People that shouldn’t be world champions cashing in on champions while they’re hurt is lame. You shouldn’t be able to randomly cash in. You should have to set up the match in advance like RVD. That’ll be better.
Ever since 2012 I think only Rollins and Brock had successful reigns after cash in (that didn't end up a complete disaster which would ruin their build up), hence why this concept is retarded and there is no point watching this pay-per-view, at least in my opinion.
The problem is that overall booking for WWE is shit. When's the last time WWE did any long term planning for anyone that's not THE main eventer for their brand at a PPV? The value of the MItB is on par with being a 24/7 title., what creative ways can we find to drop this instead of planning for it to be meaningful over the course of the year. The fact that the last time is was a real story element was when Brock had it is indicative of how bad WWE is at planning for everyone else.
MITB nearly as good a concept as Rumble it's all abt the story n cash in same as the rumble tgeve got it wrong baby times. N a think YEA. Shld win it then cash it like in 8 month 9 month n win world title in Raw as he defo over but he's a fare agecakready
In my opinion, the worst mitb winner was nikki ash. Aside from her forgetable title reign, the way she won was disappointing too. All the women were standing on the top of the ladders, then she came and said [ok ladies, i am taking the suitcase, just watch me] And the others just [ok, go on]. What was that?
Men & women are not equal in the wwe. They should have different tournament, different titles & different marches. The divisions arnt the same and the quality is different. Let's have a bit of variety. Men can't hit women but women can hit men? Equality is both ways.
I think it should go back to being a Wrestlemania match, what better stage for what *could* be a year long build than WWEs new year event if it were to go back to only being one night then have either the mens or womens match that way you dont have a winner without a story problem that seems to happen, woth two night Wrestlemanias have one a night. Honestly, I'm tired of all the match type PPVs in general with the exception of the Royal Rumble they water down the stipulation cause them to be shoe horned into storylines and end up doing more harm than good
Wwe should just remove the money in the bank ppv altogether Time to bring back night of champions all tirles should be on the line and make new champion superstars
who should win money in the bank this year?
LA Knight. YEAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
the megastar known as with everybody saying LA Knight YEAH😎
LA KNIGHT🗣
La knight and zoey starks or Chelsea green
LA KNIGHT YEAHH! also Raquel cus she has potential.
I still find it amazing that Chris Jericho invented MITB but has never won that match.
I was thinking the same, and considering where he is now, he will probably never win it. Too bad, but i am not saying i want to see him again in wwe, he is making a great job in aew

FACTS.
That's why I personally think the last TRULY great follow up from a cash in was Dean Ambrose...7 years ago. It had the Shield storyline involved. But if you consider Seth Rollins to be the last TRULY great follow up from a cash in, I don't blame you. It was awesome and I loved Seth's heel title run back then
just like seth rollins cash in . well plan
IMPACT might be smaller based but oh my god I can’t go back to WWE and have come to recaps and highlights, unlike Impact where the whole show is watchable tbh!
@@marchbros-bk9hpthe last time I watched Impact full time was probably like 2018. It fell off after Lashley, EC3 and Drew left.
To me, Seth Rollins was the last guy who actually kept that Edge's legacy of ultimate opportunist the way he cashed in!! After that, MITB really felt like an overpush... Either the wrong pick or bad bookings...
Ummmm..... cough Dean Ambrose....... blindsiding your opponent outta nowhere to cash in was as opportunistic as it was revenge against Seth
Big E was pretty great too it just sucked that he let everyone know 3h in advance he was cashing in
1. Removing it from Wrestlemania was killed the prestige of it.
2.Having a annual PLE and cashing it the same night is stupid. It was alright with kane.
3. Remember when Edge won back then (2005) they used it to carry storylines and it was perfect.
The money in the bank hasn’t elevated superstar like it did in the pass and plus the wrong choice always wins 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
FACTS the last time a wrestler was elevated by winning the money in the bank was seth rollins in 2014.
@@cliffordjackson3 and Sheamus 2015
@@Osman-kv1vw shemus didn't need elevating, he was already one of the top wrestlers

@Chillin Villian Yeah, but Sheamus was losin momentum he needed it after his epic mega run in 2012 he was just there in the upper mid card, so winnin was good for him it rejuvenate his main event push
Some of my MITB ideas over the years:
1: On the rare occasion that the World/Universal etc Title is on the line at say a Royal Rumble (As in the actual Rumble match), have the MITB winner cash in at the end during the celebration of the Rumble winner/new Champion.
The only way this can be fixed is when Vince is gone and MITB ladder match is at WM
@@Matthew-xh3rm It would also help if Roman didn't have a stranglehold on the Universal Title for over 1,000 days, and held the World Title for over a year in-between

They really ruined the contracts purpose when they had Austin Theory cash it in for the US title😭
I mean at the time I understand that no matter who had won the briefcase no one was being put over Roman Reigns. But hindsight is 20/20
Lol it was a total burial. Cashed in on a midcard title during an open challenge then won the same title a short time later
I feel like Money In The Bank works well when someone is over and is in the midcard longer than they should be. That's why LA Knight is the perfect choice because no amount of adversity can turn him into a main event player - this is where you insert the briefcase to close the gap.
And this is why Seth's was special too. The shock values never hit because we don't care much or it's not believable enough to have that person rocket (especially if there's no momentum - which is why other people think Damien Priest should win this year's)
Notice how people who weren't the right holders just hit rock bottom or never recovered? That should tell you something.
**Also, I still think Theory was going to help bring the prestige back with the way he was forced down our throats and teasing it -
the problem is Reigns already had two belts lol
Agreed, Theory should still have the briefcase right now wwe just got impatient with him and rushed it. He should’ve held it as long as Ziggler or Carmella and played off the fact he didn’t have to cash in for a whole year.
the unification thing really f'ed things up.
The problem with money of the bank is that there is nothing left to do. I think the contract peaked in 2015 when Rollins cashed it in in the main event of Wrestle-mania. There is little left to do with the contract.
you have a very very very good point.
This is facts plus booking after a superstar wins the contract makes no sense 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
The only way I could see a very memorable cash in is if someone won the MITB at Wrestlemania then cash in the main event in the same night or Night 2.
FACTS
There's one thing left. Cash in at survivor series in champion vs champion match.
MITB and the 24/7 title have something in common; both can be cashed in or challenged for anytime and anywhere.
Having Miz win it and lose the title before live crowds returned was the biggest robbery in recent memory. He deserved to have another title run
As much as I wanted another Miz WWE title reign (because of how good of a natural heel he is), his loss was not in vain imho.

They should have just let him cash in during that summerslam and lose anyway
I personally couldn't buy Theory as Mr MITB at all he shouldn't have won that match especially considering he wasn't even part of it before the bell rang
Gotta defend noseman. He buried theory and we all saw it
@user-vn4rq1db5q that's what I mean by getting favors done by Vince at the time.
Now that there's a new heavyweight title it might make it better for making stars.
seth rollins is still last great mitb holder
Seth Rollins Was The Last True Money In The Bank Winner

I think to revive MITB Kavin Owens should win next year
I would like them to stop wasting cash ins on mid card titles.
Roman getting sick at Day 1 2022 literally changed the entire build for the rest of 2022 - 2023. But my honestly I could booked it much better than Mr McMahon.
I personally think that they should revamp the Money in the Bank concept by saying that there's 1 of 2 things inside:
1. A World Title Shot
2. $250,000
Imagine the number of storylines this opens because then, Mr. MITB is not subjected to the old familiar storyline but can actually use the briefcase to heighten a personal feud. It would be awesome!
For me Brock Lesnar winning the MITB on 2019 was the moment MITB was ruined forever.
FACTS same.
True AF
Indeed.
Ziegler and Bryan’s runs with the briefcase were both pretty good and definitely elevated them in the long run.
the last great MITB holder was Seth Rollins
couldn’t agree more🙏🏽
I never like MITB (,HIAC and TLC) as it's own ppv because I find it weirdly boring and feel those gimmick match lost its uniqueness. this year, LA Knight need to WIN or F The WWE.
3: Being Vince's final big middle finger to the fans as a way to remind them that this is Vinny-Mac's world and we're all living in it, even after he's retired, and giving Theory out after out after out to ensure he holds onto the belt by any means necessary (having a "nest egg" for Vince's "favourite child" so he can pay off referees or other wrestlers to help him cheat to win, for instance.)
4: A reminder that the MITB briefcase is a *_heel prop by nature,_* as it's an immediate skip-the-line tool and who keep trying to skip the line to greatness?
Knight.
The Gold and Black briefcases were perfect if you think about it 🤔the green, blue, red and white ones are the problem if you really think about it
The MITB concept is dead at this point cause the last legit good cash in was Ambrose back in 2016
" Though that's no fault of her own is it now Mr. Rollins " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For now I see LA Knight winning and cashing in on Seth Rollins.
This was an excellent video and you just earned yourself a sub, cheers!
Yessss i have considered both of these options they would be great tv

What is the backing track called. It’s so nostalgic
that briefcase only looked great and promising in like 3 or 4 superstars : RVD, Edge, Punk & Sett, and maybe Dolph, in rest ... just wasted space... I wish L.A Knight will make it prestigious once again, with run attempts to cash in on both Top tiers almost every week.
The bigger issue is the disrespect on midcard titles we had great ic champions and us if the midcards was strong it be more believable
Only LA Knight and Becky Lynch can save this briefcase now
Give them a long reign with the briefcase, hell even have them defend that briefcase too.
That's the only way to save MITB
The Miz should have won in 2020, Austin Theory should have cashed in on the NXT Championship, and the women just need to hold it longer than 24 hours.
You Can Say the same thing about some Last 6 Aur 7 Royal Rumble winners

Fun fact: every failed cash in has related to cena bar 1
First: cena was the casher
Second: cena was cashed in on
Third: cena caused a distraction
Technically speaking tho
Four: cena made the us open challenge popular, had he not done it in 2015, the multiple repeats might not have happened.
Perfect. Nobody compares to a thing WWE does
ngl ion see the la knight hype...say he does win mitb....he is NOT beating reigns 💀💀 & i don't see him beating rollins either....😭🤦🏽♂️💀
I’m pretty sure Austin Theory went for the US title because Vince pushed him for the money in the bank but HHH thought he wasn’t ready yet when he took over creative so they made him cash it in on the US title to revert the mib win
WWE gives Theory a 1'000 day US Reign to Compensate for his Burial.
Drew McIntyre may return and win the MITB contract though. He's a legit threat to both Rollins and Roman
Tbh i feel like the failed Cash-In helped Theory more than anything. He’s now a guy you can see as a threat to a world title
The problem is not with the Money in the Bank; the problem is with the bookers and producers who don't know how to fucking plan ahead
A title shot at Summerslam will be nice!
Missed mitb winners
2017 -aj styles
2018- Finn Balor
2019- sami zayn
2020- aliaster black
2021- John Morrison
2022- drew mcintyre
I would have booked below 6 for MITB ladder match.
Jey Uso, Dominic Mysterio, LA Knight, AJ Styles, Karrion Kross and Cody Rhodes. I would have Drew McIntyre interfere and win the briefcase.
Should’ve stayed at wrestlemania it felt special not its a joke or when even its cashed in not that good
Trashing Nikki will not be tolerated. She beat Charlotte clean during her title reign… something others barely do
The 2023 Men's winner of Money in the bank should go after Roman Reigns.
The winners I believe I going to be LA Knight “YEAH” and Iyo Skye who will cash in by that weeks Smackdown 🤦♂️😂💯
All the women were standing on the top of the ladders, then she came and said [ok ladies, i am taking the suitcase, just watch me]
And the others just [ok, go on].
Honestly, I'm tired of all the match type PPVs in general with the exception of the Royal Rumble they water down the stipulation cause them to be shoe horned into storylines and end up doing more harm than good
Wwe should just remove the money in the bank ppv altogether
Time to bring back night of champions all tirles should be on the line and make new champion superstars
