The multiplayer has a very special place in my heart, my uncle had cancer a few years ago before he passed cause of it and he loved the last of us, but with the cancer he couldnt play games much really anymore. BUT he absolutely LOVED watching me play the story mode, and when I told him Multiplayer was in it he instantly bought all the dlc for the multiplayer and looked at me in the eye and just said "Play" and for hours and days I did, even when he was on his hospice bed in the living room in and out of it he watched me played and smiled. I am glad its getting attention

i’m surprised no other studio tried to take a spin on their multiplayer the shit is addicting and has a learning curve to it that once you master it’s hard to put down

Dying Light BTZ PVP mode is kinda like that and its really fun.
Once you realize the sweet spot with the bow you’ll never want to use a different gun. Especially with the shorty combo

Been playing factions since 2015 one of the best multiplayer experiences of my life, the intensity, the tension, that sense of desperation you get when your teams out of lives, there’s nothing quite like it

I haven’t played Factions in like 5 years. I played for probably 2 straight years and then stopped cold turkey. I plugged in my ps4 for the first time in 2 years yesterday and played factions all day for 2 straight days. Crazy how muscle memory works. Didn’t even take any warm up time. Had 10 downs, 11 executions, and 4 revives in my first game back that included a 1v1 sudden death win to close it out. What a rush!

It makes me so upset that so many people missed out the multiplayer mode it was so freaking amazing the sensation of hitting those headshots or making those final executions is freaking amazing. I really hope that with the release of the multiplayer mode really turns some heads. Also they have to no they NEEED TOO….bring back the OG mode tdm and supply raid it has too just for the OG’s but I really have hope for this

Unfortunately no. People forget this mode was tied along with a premium $60 single-player title. Factions 2 will be a f2p game littered with micro transactions
Very limited ammo, best balancing of weapons in any game in the past 10 years , limited lives really goes against every AAA then and since
Honestly the Multiplayer isn’t like any other it’s amazing and I hope they soon add a factions mode to the second game. Imagine all the things to do with the new mechanics

Factions will always be my favorite multiplayer. I started playing it back in 2014 to get the platinum trophy and I never really even played online multiplayer before that. It was brutally difficult, but I wanted it bad enough that I stuck through the trophies. By the end of it I found myself wanting to play it more and I got hooked. I only just stopped playing it a couple months ago when I sold my PS4. It really is the perfect mix of elements for me though, something they did there is definitely different than all their other multiplayer or anything else I’ve ever played. I’m curious about the stand alone game but I think I’ll be going into it with very flexible expectations and awareness that it will never be what factions was/is.
This multiplayer is so fun, I'm glad the player base is still alive and people like you are still making videos on it! I've played since the game came out in 2013 and no game has replicated its feel yet. Great video!

I used to play this so much as a teenager and I remember an older dude teammate told me when I raged “hey quit that. Quit that emo shit. Useless anger isn’t going to help. Focus on staying positive for your next life” and that stuck with me in every game I’ve played then on. Ebolatastic I hope you’re doing well man
I played factions like a mad man for the longest time on ps3 and 4. A long time later I tried to play again and the first game someone was glitched out of bounds cheating and killing everyone
Yeah I had similar experience. Took a break when things were relatively normal and came back to complete mayhem

I’ve played factions since it came out and I always go back to it at least once a year with my cousin. Right now it’s our yearly return and I’m having a blast even though there’s so many exploits

I started gaming with battlefield bad company 2 (multiplayer) and had a long run with battlefield 3. After that i focused on story-gaming and nowadays i'm more of a casual gamer. BUT I HAVE TO SAY: THE LAST OF US CHANGED MY LIFE AND I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT EITHER, THAT I'M PLAYING FACTIONS AFTER TEN YEARS. Factions is the only game, where i can say, that i played it for ten years straight, and it never lost its appeal - i hope even after the new nd-multiplayer, that the "old-factions"-community still survives! Much love from germany

Its cool to see factions still going. I went back to TLOU about a month ago to get all the trophies and to my surprise there were plenty of players online for getting those last few multiplayer based trophies.
Still holds up today as one of the best competitive multiplayer modes on the market.
I love the multiplayer and still play it now, although its kinda getting ruined by sweats sometimes. BUT I still love it no matter what! And when factions two comes out I'm gonna play both mp's
I got a ps5 about a month ago with a bunch of games but all Im playing is Factions. Luckily I only ever encountered one wall shooter (and maybe once or twice I had a suspicion). Thanks for your poop tips tricks, they helped me get my skills back since the ps3 days.

You hit the nail on the head with this video. I play it nearly every day and have most days since it was released on PS3. It’s one of my favorite games of all time and it’s insane to say that it’s because of both the single player and multiplayer. Each alone are amazing let alone together. It’s a shame they haven’t patched wall shooting or crab walking either. I hate wall shooting so much that if I see someone on my team doing it, I’ll stand in front of them and cause my team to lose out of spite.
I have such a love hate relationship with this game. Burst rifles decimate my dopamine, but I also pride myself on never losing a camp, as well as making interesting loadouts
I use to see The last of us only as a story game and couldn’t get myself to play in multiplayer, I now today after 10 years discover the multiplayer side of the game and end up playing it every day, it’s crazy first time I thought I might not find a match and was surprised how it’s easy to find one , so that’s my story I play faction in 2023 and I love it. Been playing since 2014 and it was my first online multiplayer. I've not found anything else that is better or even close to being as good as factions. I'm closing in on 7000 hours and I've enjoyed every minute ☮️
Same here. Uncharted Multiplayer approached it for me but still was far off. Certainly something special here that a lot of people missed out on :)

I still play factions to this day since the ps3 era, from time to time there is bad situations with glitchers and modded controler but the rest of the matches when everybody is just having fun its magical
I remember being so terrible at it back in 2013. It took me about 5 months to to get past the learning curve. To this day one of my favorite multiplayer experiences.

i still come back to it every so often. love factions so much. this last time i came back though, i found i was running into a lot more cheaters than i ever had before. not the "they killed me so they're hacking" type of cheating, i'm talking infinite grenades and ammo, shooting through the entire map and killing everyone type of blatant stuff. i still had a good time though, just surprised me to see it as often as i did. super excited for the new factions they're working on, my friends that don't come with me to it probably won't hear much from me for a while when it does come out haha.
I have so many core memories from playing factions back on ps3 me and my friend would run smoke bombs and shivs we called it “velociraptors”
being in sudden death and the special intense music starts playing gets me more fired up than any other multiplayer experience

Seeing everyone work together to win the match is what I like. Complete strangers if you don’t play with friends coming together to win a game

I played the multiplayer last weekend. First time in 5 years. Started a 2nd account so I wouldn’t get put with, like 4 different 999 players. Didn’t help at all. The matchmaking is still horrible! Got my ass whooped several times. But still had fun! I was never really good at it the first time I played, but I would categorize myself, back then, as a try hard. This time around, I was much looser about my MDK rate.... I might throw it on this weekend too.

i only started playing the multiplayer not long ago as a friend mentioned it and i'm lv.6 at the moment and there's player's at lv.999 in the match and i hear lot's of swearing and they oftern send you an inbox moaning about something, if you interfere if they are doing an execution they are likely to kick you from the game lol i just stay back now as they take it very seriously. but there are some nice player's that will revive you and send invites or friend requests so that's nice to know.
dont worry no one can kick you from a game but sometimes the game disconnects if someone rage quits

Played that so much when I was young, had so much fun, variety and so on. Probably on when not the greatest MP Game I ever played with also a awesome SP. Awesome game. Sad I dont have the platform to play it anymore, hoping the MP comes with PC version. But i doubt it sadly.
No it won’t come with the pc port but I bet the new standalone does come to pc

me and my buddy hopped into a match and instantly it was only us 2 versus 4 and we managed to only die a few times while wiping the other team, the best match ive ever had and really enjoyed running around with my buddy the entire time playing off each others attacks
Man I remember playing Factions to get the MP trophies on my PS4 and after I got them, I just kept going and going.
It was really fun.

I was gutted when 2 came out with now online especially at the time with battle royale games being so popular I envisioned a BR when you’d have to find resources to craft med kits and nail bombs etc while a horde of infected slowly pushes people to the same location I still hope they do it one day
I was surprised it was still active in 2023. I wanted to go back and platinum the 2015 remaster but thought I wouldn't be able to due to the online element, but I'm doing it.
I was literally just playing this like 5 weeks ago! One of my favorite multiplayer gamemodes.
TLOU OG release is my favorite game of all time because it was such a complete package with Factions MP. Me and some friends still come back to it consistently.
The multiplayer was an unexpectedly great time. I came in 2015 thinking I was gunna play a few and drop it. I spent two years on it.

I played "Factions" on PS3, it was amazing. For me it's still these days the multiplayer with the best mechanics I've ever experienced. It's very sad that it has been overlooked by Naughty Dog. I've always wished they would implement new features and more customization. I hope this new multiplayer game they are doing will build on and expand the "Factions" concept. By the way, does anybody know if the multiplayer is also available on the PC version or is it only on PlayStation?
I miss so much PS3 mp. It was ahead of time, it was one of the best games on market. I really hope they bring this nostalgia effect is amazing. Seeing this gameplay after some time, you brought me back so many memories, you made me cry out of missing these days
nice, i LOVED factions, it was a unique take on shooters, i loved the stealth/ambushing mechanics. i was hoping for it to return in part 2....
Man factions is so damn fun and interesting... Who remembers when factions on the PS3 let you connect your Facebook account and your friends names were on charecters! Like (friends name) is sick, you need to get medicine! It was such a small detail to others but for me it added depth to the multiplayer that made it fun as hell! Mr. Druckmann please take your time with factions 2 I know it will be worth it when it's out!
Just got a ps4 and been playing factions ever since I finished the story it’s so good since I originally had xbox this gives me like gears of war 3 vibes but it’s so unique I can’t stop playin
It's also amazing to me how many people love the Last of Us games...but have never tried the Factions.

I’d never been into it, yet yesterday I gave it a try and it was very enjoyable indeed. Took some time to find a lobby tho, is the playerbase high? (Ps4 tlou remastered)

Just hopped back into factions for the first time in about 6 years, having a lot of fun (turning game chat off every lobby) and I agree on survivors 😂 I really enjoy supply raid and interrogation. Really bummed about the consistent lack of communication from ND on factions 2..they are clearly overthinking it

Tlou factions is a gamemode I frequently revisit. I specifically redownload it to give it a go again because of how good it is
I found out about factions when I was looking at my game case and it said online content not rated by the ESRB so I search it up on youtube and have been playing since 2020

I use to be a dedicated Socom US Navy Seals (1,2,3, combined assault) player back when it was necessary to hardwired a ether net cable straight to your PS2. 😂..ahhhh the good ol days...anyway this game gives me Socom Vibes and I fucks with it.

that is the type of adrenaline rush they need to replicate with the sequel

I played faction for about 2 years after its released almost every night and i remembering being so good at it, started playing again mid last year and i got destroyed
When factions 2 releases, i really do think an extraction mode like tarkov or dmz would be really good for it. They are YOUR survivors, and it would be so visceral and personal watching your people getting killed, the ones that you built up.
I played it a bit on ps3 and quit when I lost so many survivors after not playing for like two days and I was like I don’t have the time for this and never picked it back up 😂

Factions was a brilliant experience when I played it last.
TLOU:Factions got my interest the first time i saw it just by being different to every other shooter , the modes were unique the guns were different from each other and you had to scavenge resources for extremely powerful items , all that mixed together made a perfect game in my eyes , and everyone seems to agree , sadly i own a PS3 so there goes hope for me
pc is getting a last of us remake on the 28th this month, hopefully it makes a return as that would mean an even bigger jump in playerbase

Honestly the only bad thing of factions is the players. Sometimes I get teamates that have mics and we communicate super well and even if we're not the best we win most of the time because the other team simply does not communicate. Only that's a rare occurence and most of the time all of my teamates go running around solo and we all get killed one by one.

At this point I'm convinced that the time of my life where I played Factions everyday will go down as one of the chillest and best times. I'd play this game everyday with my roomate and dude that shit was so cash. We both loved it.

The best multiplayer I've touched since Halo 3, love Factions.
I've been playing this again like many others, never managed to get into properly before but better late than never.
Playing in squads though, my friends and I are all under level 10 and we just get smashed by level 100+ squads, not to mention the pay to win unlocks are annoying.
No other game like it though, only thing slightly similar is gears of war but that's still a long way away from this.

Factions was my second online multiplayer I played on the PS4, it was in a bundle and I didn’t hear about Last Of Us until then. Needless to say, it was peak as all hell. The multiplayer is still one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time because it’s so basic yet still has a learning curve to it, it’s beyond addicting.

Almost a year later and the new one is canceled. But the original is very much still thriving and i love that. You can play this on the PS5 with the PS4 version if you want to play on the new console. Super fun still.

Really, really hoping for multiplayer for TLOU2. Imagine the second game's graphics and locations (Hill Crest, hospital, Santa Barbara, etc.), but used for factions.
🤣🤣🤣 that's why I stopped playing factions about 1 or 2 years ago. Literally because of every toxic thing you mentioned and all that hate for it came rushing back. Looked so good before I remembered. I was actually contemplating going back to it. Like I knew I left bc I got tired of the bs but honestly did not remember any one single specific thing. Like I wasn't even actively thinking about the indepth bs

man i wish i could play it, because there is no matchmaking i just get steamrolled by people playing from day witch is why i have 500 hours on campain but only 4 on fractions, i remember watch my sister playing innterigation bassicly half the day but i did not mind because it was fun to watch her expert level smoke and nail bombs from across the map and close ranges, watching here play is the reason why i have so much playtime on tlou and why its its my one favorite and best designed games i've ever played easly being my 2nd (at the time 1st) favorite game

Oddly enough their last Factions patch says they fixed it. But they definitely didn’t!
