  • How to become a famous painter & how to sell art for high prices can all be achieved through one technique. The technique of harvesting the power of connectors. By understanding the principles behind social art epidemics you can use them in order to create a micro epidemic around your own art. The truth is that no matter how hard you try you will never be able to create an epidemic around your art if you don't find a way to connect with market mavens, sneezers and connectors.
In this video we explain the power of connectors and how they can influence your career in the positive as well as how and where to find those connectors. Selling art will never be easier when connectors are spreading the word around your art because word-of-mouth is still the number one marketing tactic in the visual arts.

Ever thought about creating a social epidemic around your art?
Ps: For more in debt info around how you can create a social epidemic around your art I would suggest reading the tipping point of Malcolm Gladwell. You'll find a link in the description.

@@driesketels Yes, I have read it- I also recommend "Primal Branding" by Patrick Hanlon- an older book, but highly relevant. Has some overlap and also introduces some great themes and things to try

You are correct and a lot of people don't want to believe this concept. No matter how great you think your art is, without knowing someone in the" know" so to speak, your art will only hang on your walls. It's also true more back in my day than now, you had to go to the places where artists were made. Like New York, L.A. Paris and places like these. You couldn't be in middle of nowhere hoping to get discovered. Now, we have the internet which make the world smaller, but you still need as you would say a connector. This is very true. Even after finding a connector, it still comes down to is your art good or different enough to be accepted. Great video.

That's so true, not just as an artist but for all other careers - having those powerful connectors/advocates are so important, I learned a similar concept when I took an interpersonal skills course recently. Very thoughtful concept.

I think you are talking about the theory based on “Six Degrees of Separation”, which absolutely fascinates me! Thanks for another terrific video! So sorry to hear about your pets. I have several pets from parrots to an English bulldog, which I highly recommend as a best friend. As always, Much Love and Respect from North Carolina, Stacy

Yep Stacey, that's the theory indeed. Parrots, that sounds super cool. One of my neighbors walks around with a parrot on her shoulder on the streets. I always think she looks so cool with her parrot on her shoulder.

Finally someone speaking concrete facts, not like this generic advice like "I just went viral" or "imporove enough and then people will buy your art" or "just put it on Instagram and wait". None of these works by the way. This was an informative video.
