I'm certain in the original XFM stuff everything he said was proper off the top of his head genuine, but he's definitely playing it up a bit now, he knows what people like and he's said the same things a few times over in newer stuff he's done. I think he was trying his hand at being a bit of a comedian back when he was on XFM though, things like "Hanging round with the pillow man would be a bit of a drag" and "A man with 2 heads got ran over. Why wasn't he looking both ways". Some things he said are just too good not to be planned. Whatever is the case, real or not, it's still given me some of the best laughs, and still does!
