Yes, you can add a link to your website to your Spotify artist profile by adding it to your artist bio. Did you try the following? 1. Open Spotify for Artists 2. Go to Profile 3. Scroll down to the text field under Artist Bio Input the link to your website.
You have to sign up to your distributor and release your first song(s) and then the profile should be created if you have never released a song before on Spotify.

A question i would love your answer on - what makes an artist come up first on spotify ? for example - what do you do if you have the same name as another aritst? 🙏💕
If you have the same name as someone else on Spotify, it may cause your music to show up under that other person’s profile after you release a song, so plz be careful and like i always recommend to artists; make sure your name is unique enough to stand out so that it is easy for fans to find you AND so that your music doesn’t get jumbled up into someone else’s profile.

same for me! it doesn’t show up
@@JokesterVids Have you released any music on any platform using a distributor yet?
@@JaceyFlames no I have not, what do I do
@@figctii First sign up for a distributor and then upload your music for a release and the distributor you pick will create the profile for you since you have never released music before.
So would it be safe to say once I follow these steps get a distributor and then upload my music I’m a independent artist and spotify doesn’t pay but in my opinion it’s a good platform for exposure
Depends on how many streams you get. I have another video talking about what you would get for each stream in 2023.
Thank you for the content!

Hi, is this okay? My first release coming soon. I don't have my personal spotify account yet. So if i make personal account with my artist name (let's say Mr. Hero), then when my song is released, distributor or spotify will create my artist page as Mr. Hero.
So when I claim that artist page, will it be two Mr. hero or one Mr. Hero account/profile page? Or should I create personal spotify account as different name as opposed to my artist name?
Your personal account is not an artist profile, the distributor has to create that for you when you release your first song through them. After that, then you can claim it & change it to whichever name you want to.
@@JaceyFlames sorry i didnt undestand, i'm stupid. So what name distributor will create it as? My artist name? So right now i dont have my personal spotify account which i will make when first release goes live. Then after I can create personal spotify account as my artist name, then can claim the same artist name that distributor has made?
@@backpackingvillager1480 Your personal account can be whatever name you want it to be but it’s mainly as your email. Your artist profile is what will be public and show up whenever someone types it in on Spotify as an artist. Your name on your personal profile only shows up when you are building playlists. Either way, I’d advise you not to have both names the same.
Also, please watch my latest video on what a distributor is and it will explain more in depth and will answer more of your questions. Also, you’re not stupid.
@@JaceyFlames thank you so much. Now i understood. I will watch it. Thanks.
@@backpackingvillager1480 No problem! You’re welcome
Hi, thanks for the video. When having an artist Spotify, how do I create a Spotify clickable link in my TikTok video?
Currently, there isn’t a way to have your Spotify link clickable in a TikTok video but you can have the link on your profile.
1:49 this b-day date is able to see on spotify page after? I don't want it ofc
or it' just for me ? what's the price per month/year for holding it there?
The date of birth is going to be yours and it’s okay to put your actual date of birth because they only want it to verify that it is you if someone ever tries to hack your account. The price per month to have your music on Spotify depends on the distributor you are using. They are the ones that upload your music on there for you.
@@JaceyFlames thx for long answer, and info dear Jacey. now I sit to it and as ''new'' person aroudn this sharing music on Spotify it's hard to say which platform is good.

@@JaceyFlames no just spotify
@@idklol681 gotcha. That’s definitely different for sure!
Is it necessary to have a distributor. Can I just creat a profile like you did in this vid and upload different music on it?
No. You have to use a distributor because there is no other way for you to upload music onto these platforms. This video was showing you that.
Think you I'm an new singer/rapper and you helped me alot with this
You’re welcome! 🙏🏼 Glad I can help you on your journey. I’ll continue to make videos like this, just subscribe when you can!
If u already have a spotify acc do u still have to create an artist acc or can u just link the 2?
Is it a personal Spotify account?
Do you have to have a distributor to post any music cuz I hate labels and stuff like that lol
Yes, you do have to have a distributor to post any music but you don’t have to be signed to a label or do any work with them to have a distributor.
@@JaceyFlames oh ok I just hated the concept of having someone own my music
@@prod.slitface Distributors don’t own your music, you just have to pay yearly to use their services.
@@JaceyFlames yeah I know
Thanks so much for this.
You’re welcome!
If im releasing on distrokid as a second artist, will i need a new email to claim that artist on spotify?? i assume so right?
Yes
Can you do this through phone or has be over desktop?
To create a profile, you have to go thorough a distributor first IF you have never release any music before. After you release through a distributor then you can use your phone or desktop to claim your profile.
Hi,
I can add our FB and Insta adresses to our Artist Page.....but not our website URL. Isn't that strange?
Yes, you can add a link to your website to your Spotify artist profile by adding it to your artist bio. Did you try the following?
1. Open Spotify for Artists
2. Go to Profile
3. Scroll down to the text field under Artist Bio
Input the link to your website.
Will I make a payment first to tunecore before it will be done
You have to sign up to your distributor and release your first song(s) and then the profile should be created if you have never released a song before on Spotify.
If I have a shared Spotify family account, should I create a new account to link with the artists account or it will not matter in the future?
It really won’t matter, but I would recommend creating a new personal account to link it once you release your music through a distributor.
@@JaceyFlames so basically, if I am artist putting m y music on spotify, I should have my personal account with nobody else linked with, correct ?
@@laurutas I would recommend it, yes.
Please Is it compulsory to use distrokid can’t we use another distributor
@@Angiemccurry_offical You can always use a different distributor. There’s plenty. This was just to show an example of how your profile can be created through a distributor.

Thanks for the video, but I still don't understand. I have a few tracks out on Labels and a spotify account seems to have been automatically created. However I have no access to this account? Please help some its so stressful and confusing...
Well, you would have to access from to connect your personal profile to that Spotify for artists account with your songs that are already released, but if you want to release those songs on your own without the label (you would Need permission from them of course) then you would need to sign up to a distributor to upload your songs and the distributor would release them onto Spotify. After that, then you would just claim your new profile.

Dudddeee extremely helpful but um I think I made my artist account in panick because I didn’t see my music on Spotify after distributing through distrokid will that affect anything like I dropped my music on distrokid it’s out on all platforms but apparently it’s not showing up on iTunes or Spotify should I have waited?
When was the release date for your song? Also, IF you are releasing your first song on any mainstreaming platform then the distributor will create the artist profile for you after your release date of your first song(s).
Hi!! I uploaded my first song but I can't find my profile on the last step that you showed.. why is that? very helpful video btw
When is your song set to release?
Thx for the Help Man!
No problem man! 🙏🏼
do u think is best not to creat the account unless your ready to release ?
Yes, and also make sure you have at least 1 song released on all platforms through your distributor.
Hi Jacey! Your video is very helpful! I would like to ask,I’ve just uploaded a song last night via distrokid and the releases on 4th Aug, and I set a pre save to it, and the pre save of hyperfollow just shown Spotify pre save, does the other pre save for apple music, itunes etc will appear in a few days or the pre save is only on spotify?
The pre save is just for Spotify, but you can also use Soundplate which is what I use and it lets you do a pre save link for a few different platforms.
Great vid ❤

do you need to have music out on Spotify to claim a profile? cause i uploaded a single to distrokid and its on green (which means it passed the checks and its gonna go live) but its only coming out this Friday (i mean its not out yet) do i need to wait for it to be out?
Yes, you need to have music out already.

A question i would love your answer on -
what makes an artist come up first on spotify ? for example - what do you do if you have the same name as another aritst?
@@JaceyFlames thank you so much for your reply!!! I truly appreciate it, although I tried asking something else.
What happens if I knowingly choose the same artist name as another artist, how do I make it come up first when it’s searched?
I understand that it’s tricky.
Thank you again for all your contributions!✨🙏
@@taltul88 With certain platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc. that’s not really how it works. It’ll just blend the 2 profile’s together in most cases so that is why I recommend you adding something to your name or spelling it differently so that this problem doesn’t occur.
@@JaceyFlames Im not sure it's true since I know for a fact that there are many artists with the same name. For example, take the name - Nunu.

yo i know this vid long ago but just wondering how can i have spotify artist profile do they need to accept the invitation?
No. Just sign up to a distributor and set your song for a release date. Once it releases, then you claim your profile that they make for you.
Do I need to use my Spotify premium account? I don’t want to link my personal account to my music account
No, you don’t have to use your personal profile nor a Spotify premium account. If you have never released any music on Spotify before then you need to sign up to a distributor first and they will create the profile for you, then you can claim it

If use the Spotify website to make songs will that mean that my song is in Spotify? And claim my artist profile?
No sir, I believe you will still have to claim your artist profile.

Search for the artist within Spotify. You have to have a distributor first before you search for the artist in Spotify though.
