Charles you mention in the video the words 'After you upload your music to Spotify' but to be clear don't you mean 'After your distributor uploads your music to Spotify' [?] There is currently no way for an artist to upload their own music to Spotify.
Hey Mark, you're correct, there is no current way for an artist to get their music on Spotify themselves, you have to go through a third party. So yes, I mean your distributor.

I am trying to upload a chakra balancing cd. So it isn't music. I see folks who have uploaded guided meditations etc. But there isn't a genre option for that. So any ideas about primary and secondary genre and sub genre would be super helpful. Thanks for this it helped too.
Are you using DistroKid? Usually just try to get it to the closet genre you can. For instance, if there's no guided meditation genre then perhaps use "world music" or "instrumental" instead.

Hey Ross, that’s no problem. I have some alias’ too. You would just make sure to put the alias as the artist name when you upload a song on tunecore. You can have your regular name as the sign up info.

You have to upload a song in order to get an artist profile. Once your artist profile is up there you have to claim your account using “spotify for artist” app or the website. I think it takes a few days before you can actually get into your account but i’m not sure, I forgot. So in short, there’s no way for you to edit your artist profile without a song, as far as my knowledge goes. I tried explaining as best as I could, sorry if it sounds jumbled up, i tried.

I've got a problem managing my Spotify for Artist. Actually 2 problems. First one - I can't log in on the Spotify for Artist Web page. I don't know why, even if my profile is already been claimed by me and verified (in fact, I can log in on my IOS Spotify for Artist app). yes exactly. You first need to upload to your music distributor and then it will be an artist profile for you that you will need to go and claim

Good question. This can happen. You’ll need to get your specific artist URI code. You can get this from your distributor.

It’s a little different. On Spotify they pay you for streams. On SoundCloud it’s free to upload but they don’t pay you.

Hey Ali, you’d have to redistribute to every platform in order to have a clean re-upload.
